I hope Dale is back home soon with you. I’m loving the new tractor and grapple , like you say it’s going to come in handy clearing up your yard and saving your back. I always love your videos no matter what the subject matter is.
Thanks. I am hoping and praying for that also. Just stepping up one size in tractor has opened up a lot of options and capabilities to make life easier. The cab was well worth the extra cost. Thanks for watching.
Grapples are amazing pieces of equipment. Next to my pallet forks the grapple is the go to attachments. The Catawba looks very well made. Thanks for sharing 👍TCT
I looked at many different brands and decided the Catawba was best for my needs. Strong lightweight construction with those extra teeth for gripping small trees anywhere across it. Really amazed at the price and quality. After using it I think its one of the best made for use on a compact tractor. Thanks for watching.
@@spenserbridge895 Spenser, since you didn't mention what size tractor you own I would look for the lightest forks to give you more lift capacity. Another consideration would be fork lengths, (48, 42 or 36) I chose 42 and they have served me well. I own two pallet fork systems and like the Artillian brand. Made in the US and are super light weight but rated for 3000 lbs lift capacity. But the main thing I like about it is it has a 2" receiver built in so I can put a trailer receiver on the fron and shuttle my trailer and equipment around my woodyard. TCT
She went back into the hospital early this morning. Had 2 good days home and yesterday and then it started coming back again. I am praying they can solve the liver issues this time. Thanks for asking.
Glad you got to play w your new toy! Looks like it's making light work of much to get done. Yes, you got the hang of it pretty quickly. Enjoy. Blessings to you and your wife. 😊❤
It's going to be a great helper for cleaning up the mess I fell behind on. It gets harder and harder to keep up with everything every year. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the informative video, brother. I, too, have recently purchased a small tractor and have come to the conclusion that I'm going to need a third function and grapple. I really wish that i would have had it added before purchase.
The grapple is very handy for clean up jobs. I am very happy that I went with the Catawba as its perfect for my machine. The third function was worth adding to me. I now also have a power angle snow plow it works with. Probably won't use it for anything else though. luckily they are easy to add at ant time but expensive for some reason. Check out the Catawba website for other attachments also. Nice to support a small business that supports their community. Thanks for watching.
Ed sorry to hear Dale is sick hope she will be back soon. The grapple with that model of Kioti seems to be the ideal Ticket for what you need to do on your property.
SO glad you were able to get a top quality product from an American company. Made in America and discounts for Veterans. I don't know anything about grapples but I can see how well made it is! Boy, I could sure use a beautiful tractor set-up like that! Those hornets are vicious. Watch out! What a great way to get rid of sumac trees and other weedy trees! You must be feeling better? You look like you lost weight. How is Mrs. doing?
This turned out being a great buy and I think one of the best lightweight grapples available. Really going to be handy cleaning up my mess from neglecting everything this summer due to weather and health issues. 5am this morning I headed back to the ER with Dale. She had 2 good days home and then started going downhill again. She will be hospitalized for a while again. She has Autoimmune Hepatitis that they think came from an antibiotic she was given for a urinary tract infection along with a gallbladder bile duct issue. Almost 2 weeks in the hospital and liver levels started getting better so they sent her home expecting it would go away on its own and then remove the gallbladder when she felt better. Well 2 days later and Dale couldn't eat or drink again along with severe pain. plus she started turning yellow again from the jaundice coming back. Hopefully they can cure it this time but the liver never recovers from certain damage. I am a wreck worrying, having to rely on others to fix her, and trying to keep up with everything. Working on videos is a good distraction. Thanks for watching
Just an FYI, it’s advertised as a 54” sub-compact ready unit with a manufacture listed weight at 212. Lbs. I order at 11pm Cyber Monday, it was shipped in less than 12 hours from NC, arrived at the Estes Trucking terminal in Toledo, OH 24 hours later!
You got the lighter weight narrower one for sub compact tractors. This is the 55 for compact tractors listing on the website I bought cattachments.com/product/catawba-55-wide-heavy-duty-root-rake-grapple-front-end-attachment-for-tractor-with-high-strength-steel/ Completely different grapples. Yours doesn’t have the center hinge and is made for Kubota BX size sub compacts fyi. Thanks for watching.
Great company that makes high quality attachments. I have received some emails from others in the area telling me some amazing things they have done for the community and veterans. Made the righ choice going withthem. Thanks for watching.
Just got done watching this video on my TV, but the last video I watched, you were getting over covid and your wife was in the hospital. You sound much better, but how is your wife? I hope she is well and feels better. On your new toy. It looks very nice and durable. The air conditioning is a big plus. Milwaukee is getting high 80's and humidity is high. I can't wait for Fall with cooler weather. I would imagine your new tractor has a heater for cold temperatures. Will you buy a snowblower attachment for it? Watching you last winter with the snowblower on the rear, I couldn't help but think, WOW, that would hurt my neck looking back after a few minutes. Stay healthy. Don from Milwaukee Update: I just read some of the comments about your wife and you answered back in the hospital. Sorry to hear that. I hope she gets better soon and gets home to relax.
Yes, I took her to the ER 5am this morning because she started getting very sick again. She's back in the hospital now. This has great heat and window defrosters for winter. The rear blower from the bx is a little narrow but should work. This has 3 good mirrors so shouldn't require much looking back. Thanks for watching.
Good Day 🌅 , How is the Boss, I hope she is feeling better, please give her my best wishes, The Tractor 🚜 😮😂, sorry wrong colour, Looks amazing , that’s definitely going to save your legs and your back, Well worth investment, pity that the grappler doesn’t rotate 90°, or you might be able to get one that’s 90°, so then you could actually grab a tree 🌴 shrubs, and then try to pull it out, I was supposed to had a up on my hands last week, for carpal tundra syndrome, I was an idiot. I forgot to take my paper, So I’ve got to go through all the procedure again next month, i’m not telling you what to do but it might be worth enquiring whether they make a shredder to go on the back of the PTO drive on the back of the tractor. You can then mosh all your roots and branches and everything, Keep up the great work , Looks like you’re going to be busy for the next few weeks, from France.
She's bad again and back in the hospital today. This is a wonderful attachment and will definitely save my back. I recently sold my chipper. The raw chips without treatment attracted ants and termites. I have to sell more stuff to buy a flail mower next. Thanks for watching.
She is still in the hospital. Trying to sell it for money to buy a flail mower. Needed the room and found out that I can't get out of it anymore 😳. Thanks for watching
@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 Ha, good luck on the sale. Pickups, SUVs and a little age make those low set cars less and less easy to get in and out of for sure.
I think this one is rated for 40 hp but they have a bigger models also. I would call them or send an email ( Cody should be able to help you ). I am very happy with this one. They stock most grapples for fast shipping that's free to a terminal. Thanks for watching.
@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 Their website says it good to 55hp. The bigger one weighs about 150 lbs more, which subtracts from my lifting capacity. I'm getting one primarily to move rocks & boulders, so I think this size is better for me, but I'll double check with Cody for sure. He just shipped me an 8' 3 point/ssqa combo land plane and a Farm-Maxx concrete mixer.
The 60 is made using 3/8 steel and 115 pounds more. My loader can lift about 1800 pounds at the pin and the 55 handles that no problem. looks like your loader lifts about 2000 pounds at the pin and this should be fine after looking at your loader specs.
Good video. Hope health concerns improve. Curious why you went with this company vs Everything Attachments grapple. There’s is very similar and this one looks like they copied EA designs
Thanks, she is feeling a little better now. Catawba is very involved with their community and veterans I was told by folks in the area. I think their grapple is better built then the EA and they stock them for next day shipping. EA screwed over a lot of customers with the bankruptcy. Pre pay with a 10 week wait makes them a company that I would not consider buying from. I feel that this is a better built attachment at a significantly lower delivered price and a well run company that locals speak highly of. I love mine so far and those grippers/rakes are positioned perfectly. Thanks for watching.
@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 Glad your wife is feeling better! Good info about the grapple. I was not aware of the issues with EA. Sounds like they have some improvements to make.
Grapples are a great addition to any tractor. I was just wondering why you went with a solid Clamshell and not a Dual Clamp? A little tip never pull with the top of the grapple. This looks like a great single clamp grapple.
I wanted lightweight and narrow with the short rake clamshell for all the bushes that need to come out. I have been dragging out logs and trees with the top and doesn't seem to be a problem with my little tractor. This has worked out to be perfect for my needs. Thanks for watching.
From there website. The Catawba 55 Rake Grapple are designed with a mechanical stop to allow for back dragging loose materials with the lid and to protect the cylinders from damage. Notice: The top lid is designed for raking loose materials, it is not intended for pulling embedded stumps out of the ground. Looking forward to using mine I just received!

First and foremost, how is your wife. Now that is a well made grapple. Down here in Alabama, grapples are being widely used and are very handy.
