A New Home on the Farm

- On our farm, we provide housing for our employees. Today, we're moving a new (to us) double-wide trailer to the farm. The only problem is, the spot where we want to put it is tight and we have to squeeze it in next to my husband's grandparent's old house.
Papa (my husband's grandfather) built this house out of scraps from old army barracks out of OKC around 50ish years ago. My father-in-law grew up there and many memories were made in that house. Granny can't bear to see it go as it holds deep sentimental value to her.
Huge shout out to NEEDY LLC out of Seminole, OK for working so well with us and helping us get the job done!
years ago at 20 years old i went to my deere dealer ship for a job i was farming also. i was told NO cause no high school diploma? i AM behind there counter a LOT looking for my own parts??? at 40 years old a manager came up and said were looking for a parts guy you should apply. i told him no high school diploma! he walked away. now 17 years later i am STILL going behind the counter for parts??? they WANT a piece of paper NOT some one with common sense or actual experience
used to set up mobile homes, we had roller trays put a bottle jack jack it up roll it 2 feet at a time reset do again slide the trailer over. It was so much more easier than which y’all doing u would think the guys setting it up would have some
Good job of getting the house set. It proves farmers can do a lot of things. Enjoyed the silage cutting videos. Keep up the good work.
Congratulations on the new house 😀👍
At 66 it's too bad you wouldn't have hired me, I could have turned that old home into a beautiful thing and you would have had another place for housing, regardless I certainly enjoy your videos, I enjoy them and memories of working on a big farm in Illinois, it was a beef farm with 110 cows cows, and I was in charge of picking corn and putting it in the crib let alone grinding and feeding all, and as you know grinding and feeding enough feed to take care of 100 plus of beef calves was an undertaking! Tons of feed a week just for the feed lot, but I certainly enjoyed every minute and I miss it now!
Even showed Holstein calves as my mother was a home economics agent and met some folks that would let me do so.
Fond memories of great people which you remind me of in your demeanor and your work ethic!
Keep up the great work.
Thank you it always a great pleasure to watch your videos . And no hats were thrown . Great Job !!
Sitting here wondering why they brought the back in first. Seems like a ton of extra maneuvering but I don’t do it for a living. I agree that was asking a lot for your husband, he did good
I was wondering why they brought the front first.
Unfortunately you’re going to be dealing with that mobile home settling quite a bit over the next year or two. The topsoil should have been stripped away, then compact the subsoil followed by 6 inches of compacted crusher run then concrete pads and finally cinder block piers or treated cribbing with shims to level it up. That crew looks like they’ve never done this before or didn’t care. Sorry not trying to tear you down just wanted you to be prepared for what’s coming.
Great video.
How many cows do you guys milk??
currently, 230.
thank you for all your hard work with the videos
My DADDY delivered Mike to homes in glass jars for 32 years !lol
Milk
😂milk
i can help in the clearing of the old house.
First time I have seen you where did Mrs milkman come from?
when my husband and I started dating all his friends refered to him as "the Milkman" and soon started calling me "Mrs Milkman" (good thing he married me 🤪) and it has stuck for 14 years.
Hi a suggestion to hopefully help possibly get more subscribers if if you can find the time , to make RUclips shorts videos.
thank you, I really appreciate your suggestion. I'm trying to do more shorts. I struggle with what to post for shorts, but I'm working on it.
Hope the price was right, doesn't look like a home I would want.
