Using Print and Cut to recover a project

- A tutorial on how to accurately re-cut a file that's been moved, using Print and Cut to register the output from LightBurn to line up the second run. (This is showing the new Print & Cut Wizard in version 1.0)
The laser used in this video is an Aeon Mira 7. To learn more about it, click here: aeonlaser.us/?ref=lightburn - Наука
This tool has been moved to the 'Laser Tools' Tab in Lightburn. Not your fault, it was like this when you made the Video, there was no 'Laser Tools' Tab then- just updating for anyone who might be confused.
You might pin this comment or make one of your own so that this Video is still accurate. You could also add an annotation comment in the Vid at the timestamp ( 3:17 ish) which could note the corrected tool location. Excellent Video, it still works exactly the same- it's just been reorganized/moved to a different location.
Thank you! I found it when I searched in the help menu, but there seems to be a bug where and arrow points off screen.
Thanks for the tip 👌🏼
I am amazed how logical and perfect this product is - thanks, Jason!!! You get 11 out of 10 stars for your work.
LB Team just never stops making a great program even better- Congrats again!
WoW. This saves lots of material and weeding time in addition to saving a project. Thank you for such a well thought program!
This is pure brilliance. Wow. What an amazing feature. I'm so glad I purchased this software! Well done.
This alone is worth the price of admission. Excellent work as always.
Thank you, Jason! I echo all the compliments on this thread. I just ran across this tutorial a couple weeks ago & I'm so thankful I had this little nugget of knowledge tucked away. I had to attempt my first "rescue mission" this evening. On my first try, I got an error (my fault as I had placed my piece just barely outside the cut boundaries). Once the placement was corrected the process worked flawlessly. You do an excellent job on your tutorials and I sure admire your attention to detail in the creation, maintenance and advancement of Lightburn software. Kudos to you & your team (if you have one ;) )!!
This is why I love you guys. Going for lightburn was a one of the best decision I have made for my laser cutting business
I use three different platforms (unfortunately). Currently use Lightburn (by far favorite), EZCad (UV Galvo - can't wait for Lightburn Support) and the absolute worst, FSL RE3 (all on separate machines).
Best tidbit of info for a relative newbie... EVER !! Thanks So Much
Manny thanks for sharing this function.
Really amazing process and final result is top.
OMG! I've needed this a couple times but did not know it was possible. THANK YOU!
Very impressive, so glad I have Lightburn in my arsenal!
woooow! nadie lo explica mejor que tu, vi varios videos y solo me quedo claro con tu explicacion, Excelente video, muchas gracias por tus aportes, bendiciones.
That is incredible! I am amazed. Such a useful solution to a common problem. Thank you!
Thanks guys! Just saved a job for me today. Took me 2 tries but it works great.
This came at absolutely the best time! Thank you so much!!!
Perfect and complete explanation!
Great. Thank you for adding. Love LB. Get better and better 😍
That is very helpful to fix up mistakes as well as finish incomplete files, thank you!
I love LB so much. This is great. Thank you!
This is a feature that is totally new to me. I must try this. Thanks!!!
So glad I saved this video when I did!! I ended up changing something, but it does come in handy!
Thank you, savior, you are really a reference
Your follower from Saudi Arabia
Thank you so much. Didn’t even know we had this feature!
This is awesome, thanks for adding this!
I've come back to reference this video so many times. Don't know why I can't remember the steps. Lol thank you for it!

Lovely software. This really saved me today from blowing a gasket. Thank you
This is awesome! This will save me a lot of reject projects!
This feature saved me with a big shop. Thanks!’
What a great feature!! Thanks for doin' that.
You safe me an acrylic job for $80 dollar that I was ready to put it in the waste bin,, my question is how to slow the jog speed.? Thank you so much.
It saved me a botched job today. Thank you!
How awesome is this!!! Thanks guys!
Great feature Oz!
Thank you!
Thanks for making this video. It’s very useful!
Thank you for this! You just saved a job for me!
Very Cool, I can think of several uses for this.
Thats a really great Feature ! Love it!
Great feature, Thank You so much.
Wow, a great feature addition.
thats a great new feature!
Thank you SO much for the video!
Amazing feature!
Thank you so much for this.
Awesome, thank you! I wish I knew about this a few days ago 😫. I guess you could use a low powered test fire to dial in the alignment precisely if you don't have a red dot pointer?
OMG this is genius! 😍😍
Lol duh that's all I can say I have used print and cut but never this way. Great video and thank you.
Awesome feature!
3:05. The red indicator doesn’t “dim”, it just doesn’t reflect as brightly from the already burned area.
so what you're saying is the laser brightness isn't as high... aka it's dimmed 🤦♂️😂
great great! Very useful!! A doubt, does your machine work with a CO2 tube? With mirrors?
Great Video....usefull...thanks
still AMZING software , especially for that price. worth EVERY penny imho
Great video
Great stuff
How do you change jog speed? This is awesome!
just brilliant
Great video!! Question: let’s say I have a cut that has multiple pieces and most of them cut except for two. Would it be possible to use this feature then select “only cut selected graphics” to cut just those two pieces that didn’t cut completely?
Yes, Cut Selected Graphics still works when using Print & Cut.
Amazing!
I have a print that I need the laser to cut around? How would you do this with lightburn? Or do I need to use a different program to upload it to lightburn? Any help would be appreciated
I know this video is a year old, but. As always great video ...
I am a newbie trying to cut a project that is larger than my Ortur Laser Master 3. Using the 'mermaid' video from two years ago, I am having no success. My print and cut selections are grayed out and the wizard does not ask for the second reference point. What could be the issue?
at 2:08 what tool was used (red line)
I was at a loss when this happened to me earlier today! Now, I know what to do next time! Thanks!!! Also… were you cutting cardboard?!
What do you do after you set your 2nd target. Do you unselect everything and click frame or do you press start . Mine keeps going to the top middle and nothing happens, sometimes it just beeps and doesn’t do anything.
Does the computer need to be connected to the laser via USB to do this? thanks. I'm still learning.
version 8.o7 has print and cut?
I wanted to engrave some USB-Sticks with a selfmade Jig using this feature. I did everything exactly the same but my engraving was totally off. It wasn't centered on the USB but placed in the lower left corner even tough my file was perfectly centered...
Do you have any idea what this could have caused?
Great! TY
Does the laser head has to go back to the Home position before start with the cut n print?
Thank you x 1000
Great video, thank you!
Thank you
Thanks for sharing but I did everything how come my laser moves completely to a different spot. I am in absolute. it start to laser kinda in the middle and up away from the project. Please help. Thank you
Please send an email to our support team support@lightburnsoftware.com. With the steps you have taken and the results you are getting. If you have images of what you are seeing that will help as well.
this is awesome! would it work for an engrave too? for example if I have a precut item I want to engrave on
I don’t see why not. As long as you have accurate reference points.
@@lightburnsoftware7189 thanks!
Great video. My question is does the laser has to be set up on user origin, current position, or absolute coordinates.
In your video, I can see that sometimes it reads current position, then it changes to user origins
I understand once you do the cut n print automatically move to absolute coordinates
Absolute Coordinates is a requirement for Print and Cut so your laser must have limit switches. If you havent seen our newer video on this function it may answer some of your other questions: ruclips.net/video/ddRW12VKIwY/видео.htmlsi=PEuqBkQZ3NdT13RX
how do you adjust the speed of moveing the laser or jog it as you said
You can sent the jog/frame speed under the move window. There is a box labeled speed.
Does this option work on any laser machine? I got with RUIDA controller.
@@lightburnsoftware7189 thank you so much for quick answer. I found out about LB recently, Im impressed what this software can do. I'll be your new user soon. Thank you for all hard work.
Hi. Great feature. But version 0.9.25 is not yet on your site for download. Am i right ?
@@lightburnsoftware7189 Nice...thanks
Is 0.9.25 available publicly? Print and cut is awesome, but it looks different in the 0.9.24 release I've got on my computer.
@@lightburnsoftware7189 Fantastic! Thanks!
When I set first target position nothing happens. The circle does not appear and the button doesn’t change. I’m running windows 10 and Lightburn 1.1.03
Are you connected to your laser? You have to be. If you are having difficulty, I would recommend either emailing support@lightburnsoftware.com or posting a question on our support forum. RUclips comments do not allow either of us to post screen shots, and are kind of terrible for proper support.
At 2:08 the pointer changes from the arrow to the red circle. The interface does not show any tool selected (in the tool well)...How did you go from the arrow to the red circle?
That is the two-point rotation feature. (Ctrl+2 or Edit > 2 point rotate)
Two questions... 1. How do you slow your jog speed? 2. After all that aligning and whatnot, do you still send the job to the machine?
1) Depends on the controller, or which controls you're using. If you use the jog buttons in LightBurn, there is a speed control in the Move window. Otherwise you can usually change the speed by hitting the Speed button on your controller. 2) Yes. You kind of have to, otherwise, how would it run the job? (You can also use 'Start', if that's what you're asking)
@@lightburnsoftware7189 did you send the job before or after you click print then cut?
@@jackwagonww - After. Otherwise no corrections are applied.
How to rotate objects like at 2:11
👍👍
Probably a lot easier with a beam combiner eh?
hmm your version is 0.9.25, up to date version is 0.9.24?
@@lightburnsoftware7189 Sweet!
2up. Download don't work
@@lightburnsoftware7189 dont know what was wrong yesterday, but today it works. Thanks for replying.
Not work for me... :( I tried many times and it never start on same lines... After configure both positions, I select to move laser to click position and it moves for another point... :(
Great function, busty little hard to use with a co2-laser, because you can’t set the visible laser point. It’s to close to the project 🥲
