  • An Air King branded Lasko 3733 box fan from the mid 1990s. This appears to be more or less identical to the regular 3733, just with different branding on the front guard. I remember seeing the Lasko versions of this everywhere back in the 2000s. Unfortunately like the majority of vintage box fans around here, they've become nearly extinct over the last decade.
This is another one of the units that Tory gave me at the fan meet this year. The shaded pole Marco motor is in excellent condition and runs properly on all 3 speeds. The blade is starting to warp a little and is definitely not scooping the air properly anymore, which is probably why it seemed to be running faster than these usually do. When the blades are in good condition, these are quite powerful fans.

That’s really cool to see that you got one of these, as that exact model and production run is the same as the first box fan I ever got! I believe the model number for these is the 9733. As for the blade tutorial, I’ll go ahead and and see if I have a badly warped one to film repairing. Once again since I am relatively busy, I can’t promise a set date, but I’ll definitely get around to it when I have time.

Thanks, looking forward to it! I'd really like to get this blade, and many other models I have, repaired and fully operational.

I always liked the style of this era on these and Lasko versions.
My 3rd grade teacher had an Air King just like that and it got broke when she loaned it out one day. She replaced it with a 12” Lasko pedestal fan and I helped her put it together.
The Air King logo is the old one from the 70s when they were truly Air King, then they did away with the little 3 bladed fan drawing.

I believe the model for these was 9733. Iv had a handful of these variants. The Air King ones arenin't as common as the Lasko ones.
From what I know, they only made these from 1993-96 under the Air King brand.
I did use that one for a little bit. It was actually recently serviced not too long ago.

Man i’ve been looking for one of them Venturi grille box fans or whatever they’re called, but i have no luck. I was even gonna look for one of those modern black thermostat models and put an older 1.1 amp recalled motor inside of it for more power but even those seem to have disappeared? Crazy man

That one was the last really good modern box fan made, unfortunately it wasn't made for more than a year or two before it was discontinued. I wish I bought a few more of them at the time.

I have two of these, I acquired a while ago both from the trash, they are just identical to the Lasko 3733 from what I know.

I liked the video and want one of those box fans despite their long ago discontinuation.
You can fix the warpage temporarily by bending each blade past the intended position. Like you have to bend it to the point you almost fold the blade. But don't worry, there will be no cosmetic effect.
You can also 3D print fan blades believe it or not..
In that regard, I do have a pristine Lasko Ultra Force box fan that I want to trade for a recalled box fan. Or perhaps a box fan with a marco motor. Let me know if you want to negotiate. Thanks

I've tried to bend them within what I feel is safe and never had any results that hold. I need someone to show a long-term fix on video.

@@JordanU The only best option is 3D printing fan blades; I will be able to send you some along with the ultra force if you want it. All I ask is for a dusty Marco motor that has seen better days

@@JordanU Not to worry, I will be uploading a video showing the act of unwarping a D-blade without heat sources. With my method it will likely last longer.

I'm not sure if you saw my previous message regarding this but I have a pristine Lasko Ultra Force box fan that I'm willing to send to you if you cover shipping. I'd appreciate something in return. Are you interested in it? I wanted to follow up because you might have missed my earlier comment, or perhaps you're not interested. If you don't want the fan or feel this comment is out of place, please feel free to delete this comment. I have tried getting your attention about the fan a few times now to no avail but I don't blame you. Either way thanks for reading.
