Hi BG There is two different areas that are soft on this beach - the standard dry soft sand high up at the foot of the dunes and then there is a very soft layer mid beach where the wet sand just about starts to reach that dry sand. this layer is that wet boggy layer. We mainly fish the beach from mid tide out to mid tide in so we are pretty much always on that harder sand near the water - when you travel the beach a little more than half tides this is normally where that boggy sand is - people do drive the dry sand but obviously need a 4x4. Cheers HNL - no don't need a permit on this beach - it's not a very long one nor gets to crowded of people.
