Good looking tractor! I spent countless hrs runinng 1466, & 1066. Both white cabs. Dependable and very good pulling power. They would out pull any "green" tractor of comparable age and hp.
That's not a 75 1466 they did not have the black stripe and if you put it on there you just lower it value of the tractor because it's not and original
Actually if you look up "product graphic package" in the parts book and cross reference the serial number break to years produced, you'll find that black stripes began production in late 1975. The first 1466 built with black stripe was serial # 28897. You can look at the serial number list of your choice and decide when you think that serial number was built. I'd say November 1975 most likely, or possibly October. While personally I agree with you that tractors should be restored to original specs, I disagree that painting/decaling an earlier build as a black stripe lowers the value. Some potential buyers don't know when black stripes were made in the first place. Among those who do know, it seems more of them care about good looks than original accuracy, and most people think the black stripe scheme looks better (although I'm not one of them, I prefer the classic earlier 66 series look).
If the owner of that tractor wants to put a black stripe on it because it's a nice paint scheme well then that's fine don't worry about the value, he wants to paint the damn thing pink go right ahead, world's full of nose pickers

Yeah I grew up on a "green" 4020. Only 90hp. It out pulls my 1066 hydro.
