    My grandmother remembered seeing his funeral train go through Wooster Ohio. She was 6 at the time.

    Technically Grover Cleveland is the first president on film. Cleveland is seen in this video accompanying McKinley to be inaugurated.

      To me it’s not that long ago I’m only 32 and my Great Grandparents were born before this film was made they were born in the early to mid 1890s.

    If this was shot today, we could see woman freaks out over a guy being the president, man gets tackled by secret service for trying to use cellphone, fight breaks out during inauguration, naked man tries to attack the president, president cannot follow the words. Damn love to see how 120 years before looked like.

      Yeah. He got shot twice but doctors couldn’t find the second bullet, which caused gangrene to develop in his stomach. With an x-ray machine and antibiotics he would have been fine.

      Roosevelt didn’t join the ticket until the 1900 election. Garret Hobart was McKinley’s first Vice President, until he died in office.

      Nope. Lumieres released first commercial films on screen in 1895. Edison before that, & first evidence of film released by Louis Le Prince in 1888.
