If this was shot today, we could see woman freaks out over a guy being the president, man gets tackled by secret service for trying to use cellphone, fight breaks out during inauguration, naked man tries to attack the president, president cannot follow the words. Damn love to see how 120 years before looked like.
Yeah. He got shot twice but doctors couldn’t find the second bullet, which caused gangrene to develop in his stomach. With an x-ray machine and antibiotics he would have been fine.
My grandmother remembered seeing his funeral train go through Wooster Ohio. She was 6 at the time.
Technically Grover Cleveland is the first president on film. Cleveland is seen in this video accompanying McKinley to be inaugurated.
Where? Just curious
Interesting point
True! I'm just having trouble finding him in this video. Has anyone been able to spot him? Lol
Pretty sure he is one of the men next to McKinley during his speech.
He apparently held McKinley’s umbrella as well. Good sport.
this was 120 years ago! when u think about it, everyone in the film is already dead, its humble to think we get to see this erea 120 years later
Imagine people from the footage seeing footage from right now.
@@AbrahamLincoln4 it was a great day. I was here and I remember this moment in my whole life.
To me it’s not that long ago I’m only 32 and my Great Grandparents were born before this film was made they were born in the early to mid 1890s.
@@corygriffiths4394 yeah I’m 18 and my great grandfather was born in the late 1890s
Thank you for putting this on.
Great President, William McKinley Jr.
Very interesting. Thanks for posting
Simply amazing.
Thanks for doing this.
Much more dignified era than today.
Don’t forget the extreme racism!
@@thestrugglingmtfpeople are still as equally prejudice in 2023. And it's not just white people.
@@thestrugglingmtfBetter days. ❤
I think William McKinley was one of the best Presidents we've ever had, and Roosevelt wasn't bad either.
Then whys your name Calvin Coolidge?
anonymous MUSIC Because Coolidge is one of the best.
Keep in mind I said ONE OF.
well
no ronald reagan was the best president of the United States
no George Washington was the best president we ever had and Jefferson
Vice-President Garret Hobart On Mr. McKinley's 1st term.

Sad to say ppl in the past were colir blind all they could see was black and white. =(

Personally I think that if he lived during this time period he would've made it.
Lincoln would have survived his wound as well if he were shot today as astonishingly as that sounds.
I think thats kinda agiven considering how seriously the secret service has taken its job ever since president kennedy

@@eyuin2460 definitely the same with Garfield
@Bullocks123 Actually 1901, but close enough.
Is that possibly Roosevelt to his right?
Roosevelt didn’t join the ticket until the 1900 election. Garret Hobart was McKinley’s first Vice President, until he died in office.
1897

Hello kkdi please i want to make this clip to my channel please
do you think they own the video 💀
Lmao
I thought the first video camera was invented 1900
Nope. Lumieres released first commercial films on screen in 1895. Edison before that, & first evidence of film released by Louis Le Prince in 1888.
