      Glad I could help. The coil pack is a simple replacement. Just be careful with the boots. They can break off. Also make sure to blow out the head before you put the new pack in to get out corrosion and maybe an anti corrosion grease or spray on the plugs?

      Did it all, got new spark plugs and yes a boot did get stuck in the spark plug hole, I tried pliers with no luck so to get it out I actually just stuck my finger in the boot and the suction of it around my finger amazingly was enough to get it out ha! The car is singing now and with the coil pack and spark plugs I think I saved her like $300, then if she went to a mechanic..

      Thats crazy. Make sure you check on the bulletin for the valve. I forget which one it is. It MIGHT be the PCV. But that was my issue. sorry for late response.

    Is there any point to that tall oil cap, I've seen it in couple of cruzes

      Yup. We got rid of it to caravana. Mom passed in December. The video reaction is on my Chanel. It was horrible. But yea we just got rid of it. Horrible car. My dads new terrain is 100x nicer and better. That Buick was horrible and never ran right till I replaced both cam position sensors at once.

      It's nuts Vic. I just lost mom on 12/21 and took her car out yesterday, check engine light on. It has under 40k for a 17. WTF Buick you make garbage!

    I'm pretty sure I've had the exact same problem twice, including mileage. It's cost me $1575 (together) and may cost Buick if they don't 'step up' as you say. I'm going to call customer service and clue them in about your video.

      It shouldn't cost crap under power train warranty. And it didnt.

    a lot of corrosion....might have someone cleaned the engine with WATER and allowed it to seep into those areas......looks like it based on what i see.

    What tools do I need to remove coil pack and change spark plugs

    • @Keith_Mikell
      @Keith_Mikell  3 года назад

      This was a bigger torx bit for the pack. for the plugs, just a spark plug socket with extension and ratchet.

    • @leroyjenkins1568
      @leroyjenkins1568 3 года назад

      T30 for the coil and 5/8 socket for the spark plugs

    Did you replace the coil, springs and plugs? Did that fix it?

    • @Keith_Mikell
      @Keith_Mikell  3 года назад +2

      It was done at buick under their extended warranty for the bad something valve. That was its issue all along. Yes its fixed now, after 2 trips back to buick. 1 for this coil pack. 2. for that valve.

      The something valve was probably the one in the valve cover that is part of the PCV system but not a PCV valve. The “ repair” from GM is t9 replace the valve cover. That means that in 20,000 to 50,000 miles it will hav3 to be replaced again. There’s also one of two PCV valves inside the plastic intake manifold, that also eventually and far too early, “ disappears “ and GM’s answer for that is to replace the intake ( $$$$) which will also fail in 20,000-50,000 miles. I’m at a loss to try to understand how GM gets away with this. They never came up with a long term fix for 5hose two issues or a 7-10 year extension on the warranty for those parts. I thought there were lemon laws in place? Why is there no class action law suit against GM for these Cruze, Sonic, Trax and Encore vehicles? The plastic intake in Canada costs over $240 so probably around $175 in the USA and that’s for an aftermarket part. The Intake in Canada is over $150. There’s a RUclipsr called “Cruze Kits” or something like that. He makes and sells a “ kit “ to fix the PCV issues. My Encore is past the warranty and I am waiting for warmer weather to install the kit. Our Encore threw a Code for the misfires when it was only 2 months old. The “ warranty covered “ repair seemed to have worked but now at just about 30,000 miles I’m nervous about taking the coil pack and plugs out.
