To the stain glass maker: You have spectacular talent/skill!!!!! That glass is gorgeous and sooooo relevant to this house. Beautiful of you to gift this to Ariel.
I love it but I would strongly consider putting a protective glass top on. The inevitable hot coffee drips are going to eventually ruin your top without it.
yes!! i also wonder if a polyurethane coating could also be a good option in that scenario? i usually prefer to retain the original finish but would love to know in case i personally do something like this one day haha
What I enjoy about your reno videos is that you share the real process , which is adjusting and pivoting and vision changing to make it work for your needs and space. Which is what all of us do when tackling a project. I watched this while enjoying my morning coffee! It was divine!
I always love your videos, but this one in particular is just SO NICE. Something about the music, the beautiful colors of your dining room, the feeling of calm…it’s just wonderful. The stained glass is absolutely gorgeous and makes the room even more special! (Also, YOUR HAIR. It’s beautiful!)
the stained glass is lovely, I also like how it is mirrored on the other side of the room with the duck tapestry...I am glad you moved the huge plant, I kept saying to myself you need space to put your mug down and have room for your snack plate too
perhaps a bit tmi but relevant backstory: ive had severe depression all my life, so i've never known anything else. it's incredibly foreign to me to imagine going out of my way and working to make my life not just functional, but enjoyable and customized to me. i can't thank you enough for sharing this renovation journey with your gorgeous, lovely, beautiful house because it's showing me a version of life that i can have and make for myself, one that i really really want to live. you live in a lovely rural area, you have your own home that you are working to make beautiful for yourself and your loved ones, your life is full of books in every possible way... it's all so lovely i don't even have the words for it. thank you for sharing this and helping to give me a future i look forward to creating and living in
I just read stumbled upon your comment, and though I’m not in your exact shoes, It really resonates with me as a chaotic person with adhd who constantly fights her own clutter in a tiny flat. I wish us both a serene space filled with books, one fine fine day :)
I understand where you’re coming from and I fully agree with what you’re saying. It gives me hope too. Sending you lots of love from one stranger to another ❤️
I would remove the books from the top shelf and replace the books with different coffee pots and or tea pots. That coffee bar area turned out stunning!!
The mug display really made that corner! And the glass is GORGEOUS. Love how the design shows an underwater perspective. So quaint!! Side note: Your hair is so cute!
I love the coffee bar and I love the stained glass. I like that there are ducks mirroring each other on each side of the room, just in different materials, it looks so perfect!
First of all, I adore your enthusiasm and ZEST for life. Secondly, I would buy some custom cut tempered glass to put on top of the coffee cabinet or else over time, you'll warp and/or discolor the top with coffee and water drips.
Haha my heart sank. Ariel hanged the stained glass and in the next frame she said...."we have a crack" ... I thought it broke for a second before she finished that sentence 😂😅
I am positive you will come up with an idea for the antique cabinet don't give up on it just yet. it is a very pretty cabinet. plus you can never have too much storage.
You know, what I love most about your videos, aside from your sparkling personality, is that you show the process of creating a space. Other platforms show before and then, poof, a finished product. That is not how anything works! Through example, you give permission for mistakes and successes. I don’t think that I am alone in needing help through this process. Thank you.
The custom stained glass is perfection!🖤 She did an amazing job with the duck swamp!🦆 Your custom electrical cover panel is amazing! The coffee bar is stunning! I worry about the wood, perhaps you can find a thick glass to protect? Your mom & I think a like. I was like, "those shelves are fine, use hooks for mugs!"☺️ Perhaps put that nice plant in front of window instead of next to fireplace?👀
You could put screw-in hooks under the shelves to hang mugs and double your storage without taking surface space :) mugs and teacups look so cute hanging
I don’t remember how I stumbled upon your channel the first time, but I’m sure glad I did! You are so genuine and your house looks like a real house that people actually live in and it’s apparent that it a house well loved. I’m getting tired of all the RUclips makeovers that all end up looking the same….and staged. Just wanted to say that I really appreciate you!
Cheers to the power of having a sit and thoroughly considering new ideas. The ultimate placement of your coffee cabinet and mugs is stunning and so cozy. The whole room is so much cozier than before. And that stained-glass window is gorgeous!!! I'm so happy for your new moments in this room!
As another coffee enthusiast I agree coffee is a must! I'm not ashamed to admit, the first thing that got set up in my new home was my coffee bar😊 stay healthy, happy and safe always.
Maybe there will be room for the tall cabinet in the bathroom with the hidden room. Loved the coffee bar, the combination if that beautiful piece of furniture and the different colors if shelves, walk color, mugs and prints all go together in a very pleasing way.
I love the lamp shade on your lamp, also that you moved the huge plant and I would suggest getting pretty jars to hold your coffee!!! I’m moving to my new house in a month or so. A brand new Habitat house built for my family and you inspire me!!!🥰
I love how everything fell into place with the coffee bar. It was so right the moment it went into the far corner, and the coffee mug display is so cute. This was a fantastic example for me of not having to start everything from scratch all the time, you can adapt what you have and it will be all the more charming ✨
I too am a cup hook fan. In my case, it's all tea cups, all the time. One of the things I love most about your videos is that you're creating a home that suits the way you actually live, complete with tiny adjustments made just for you. That's my approach too, so it's lovely to see someone do the same, and in such a aesthetic way.
WOW!!! The coffee bar and the sitting area turned out beautifully. I love the stained-glass window your listener sent to you... Also the painting you put up on the electrical cabinet door is sooo pretty! How can you not love being in that cozy & welcoming room? :)
This reminds me of when you walk into a sweet old house that’s been lovingly converted into a cafe !! What a precious space 🥹 the stained glass is such a special touch
The cabinet can also go in a bathroom for extra storage and in the top nicely folded towels or fancy soaps and bathroom essentials in nice organizers 😊 just ideas love the colors of the dining room.
I get you sooo much about not wanting to get out of bed and then thinking of having your coffee (/ a specific breakfast in my case) and thinking 'actually, yes' 😭💖
i love the way a perfect antique piece can almost decide the best spot for it to go, contrary to our own planning! it looks amazing in that corner, especially with the already installed shelves
Your creative style/process ought to win you some sort of an award. This coffee bar and hot bev sipping corner project turned out to be another great success! You are so inspiring…a wonderful motivator, and I’m glad i found your channel. I’ve discovered my own talent as a DIYer because of you. Keep up the great work!
I would DEFINITELY recommend that you repaint the trim around the stained glass so it looks more like a frame! That way it will match your beautiful painting and match the colors of the stained glass better!
That stained glass is BEAUTIFUL and it goes perfectly there, now that window makes sense! And I love how it mirrors the punched rug artwork on the opposite wall!! ❤
Beautiful! At the beginning of the video, I was hoping you would try to move the coffee station to the other corner, as I had a suspicion it would look great there! Also, the chair looks great next to the tiles!
I adore this space! The door to hide the electrical panel is pure genius, it completely blends in. And the coffee bar is so cozy and organized. And that stained glass!! You're killing it, love this video.
looks so nice and such a lovely space for a morning coffee! little tip: if you paint the backside of the panel as well it will help with some of the warping.
Love your videos, this one was so joyful! The coffee bar is lovely and the space has a such fantastic warm vibe. One recommendation might be looking into getting heavy/thick piece of glass or leaded glass to cover most of the top of the cabinet. It will protect from stains/spills and heat which can cause the wood grain to become raised in spots where you might place warm things for extended periods of time.
Ha ha! I was snuggling one of my kittens at the time. She just came over looking to be wrapped up in a soft blanket and petted. I realised that the music was the perfect soundtrack to me looking adoringly at her while she looked so contentedly back at me whilst making muffins on said blanket.
Those existing shelves were just begging to become a coffee corner. Looks cozy and inviting! I'm redecorating and reorganizing my home as we speak. Taking my time to feel where I can utilize existing pieces in new areas of my home.
Just perfect 😊 The chair next to the mantlepiece with the coffee station in the other corner makes so much more sense. It looks so cozy now, perfect for the mornings
ariel, i am BEGGING YOU please so a hair routine/tutorial. i think we have similar textures but for the life of me i can never get my hair to look as nice as yours. help a fellow curly girl out 😂 also, every reno project you make is amazing, your home is absolutely lovely 💛
I really think you need to write a novel about a woman who is renovating her house that her parents live in as well. All the details about your mom's advice and your dad doing little construction tasks are so sweet and interesting.
i loved this video! and i love seeing how over the years since you started renovating your house your eye for design has evolved and your design choices are just getting better and better by the day. every time you come back to a room that was already lovely and alter it and make it even lovelier it just brings me so much joy! and it’s really reassuring to me that design choices don’t have to be set in stone, and you don’t have to fully realize your design all at once or stick exactly to your vision and sometimes it’s better that way. like the decision to move the coffee bar to the other corner was totally the right one! i loved how it all turned out
I'm so happy when those moments of quiet reflection give me the answer I'm looking for! I think sitting in the room, especially with a really good cup of coffee, helps fuel the imagination. Love your eclectic style and your appreciation of all things beautiful! It looks so good!
This is giving me motivation to finish the jobs i have to finish on my kitchen renovation today so thank you for still posting these, they're so nice to watch 🩷
there was something so cozy and comforting about this video :) the vibes were so right, and tbh i think the music added a lot! as much as i love the big renos of whole rooms, these ones of making quality of life changes just make me so happy :)
I love your cozy home so much. For fire-safety reasons, I'd recommend painting the backside of the secret door to the electrical panel, preferably with a flame proofing additive, but at the very least most paint will act as a flame retardant on that bare wood.
So beautiful!! The stain glass is perfection and the mug hooks add so much movement and texture to the corner. If you have the space and wanna be super extra you can get a water cooler/ large jug with an electric pump to store under the cabinet so you don't have to walk to the sink every morning to fill your kettle.
Hi Ariel. I love your videos. Always a happy experience. Just a suggestion, I have an old hutch that I use much the same as yours, so I had a piece of glass cut to fit the top to protect it. Works great and wasn't expensive.
i'haven't finished it yet but we have our tea in a drawer. That top draw is such a perfect tea draw! you can perfectly fit all the carton containers in there horizontally and just tear of the side facing up so you just get to it but it's ordered and you don't need to do that, it just works wonders!! so huge tip!!
The pink in your hair is so cute! Reminds me of when you had the bleached ends maybe 5 or so years ago, and it also reminds me of how long I’ve been watching your channel! Looks great, and lovely video as always!! 🥳💕
Watched this video while having my morning coffee to get ready for a productive day and what a PERFECT thing to watch. The hanging mugs are so beautiful.
My parents inherited the entire dining set that that sideboard is a part of. My mother has repurposed that particular piece hundreds of times by now in the many homes we have lived in over the years. It never stops being beautiful and useful. It makes me smile every time I see it in your videos. And now it has found its place in your lovely home, being both beautiful and useful for you, also. I can smell the wood interiors of those cupboards and drawers just from looking at it. It used to be my job to dust and polish those pieces. Ah, the memories lol. I love how your mug collection is an interactive art installation on that wall now as well. And that chair corner … perfect ❤ I love how just tweaking a room by moving around pieces we already have can inject a whole new energy into a space, reinvigorating how we use it. Houses are living things and just like our human relationships need attention and care to keep them healthy and fulfilling, our homes do, too. I always feel like they speak to us and tell us how they want to be and when we listen, they nurture us as we live our lives in them. Another truly lovely project, Ariel 😊
Having taken glass art classes before…I can testify to the incredible skill of the sub who gave you the stained glass. What a truly lovely gift for a lovely human. Blessings! ❤
wow! both corners look incredible now and the stained glass is so gorgeous with an underwater duck paddling going on. i also love how there's an equal and opposite duck artwork opposite. i'm so glad you moved the coffee cabinet and im completely jealous of your lovely tranquil morning coffee moment.

It's just gorgeous 😍
How odd to have the electrical panel in a nice room. But that is a good solution
Agree, it's fantastic!! ❤
I love it but I would strongly consider putting a protective glass top on. The inevitable hot coffee drips are going to eventually ruin your top without it.
I put a slab of stone on my coffee bar and so glad I did.
She could even put an inexpensive tray on the top too
yes!! i also wonder if a polyurethane coating could also be a good option in that scenario? i usually prefer to retain the original finish but would love to know in case i personally do something like this one day haha
Or even just the use of doily’s or a runner.
Or plexiglass
Huge cabinet would be awesome in your upstairs bathroom styled like an apothecary cabinet.
Love that idea!!
I was just thinking that same thing. Even if it's too dark for the space, it could easily be painted and given a distressed look.
Upvoting the perfection of this idea.
This!
Literally my first thought when she cut to the reveal-of-the-secret-room back flash. Put the big cabinet in the now-larger bathroom.
What I enjoy about your reno videos is that you share the real process , which is adjusting and pivoting and vision changing to make it work for your needs and space. Which is what all of us do when tackling a project. I watched this while enjoying my morning coffee! It was divine!
As soon as you moved the table under the Frida shelves, I said "YES!!!" Beautiful project yet again Ariel!!!
i literally said out loud “oh my god YES ariel” HAHAH it was a great choice
I said yes!! out loud too!
I didn’t like it and then she set down that lamp and immediately I was like oh yes 😮 (also out loud)
It looks ok but still is a bit too big for the space. Looks cramped.
yes!! it just ✨made sense✨

Thank you so much!! I was really happy with how this video turned out too ♥️
The phrasing "we've had a crack" followed by a slight pause before "in the case" really gave me a moment of panic about that stunning stained glass
Omg SAME

total side note- your hair looks amazing in this video
this project turned out amazing as always!
It really does look exceptionally good here!
I love the ajar door on the artwork hinting that it is on a hidden door to the electrical panel 👍
You bought a 1920s sideboard. And you are using that sideboard as a sideboard. And voila...perfection!
I would remove the books from the top shelf and replace the books with different coffee pots and or tea pots. That coffee bar area turned out stunning!!

Blessings! ❤
I literally can't stop staring at that stained glass. It's incredible, I'm jealous!!
wow! both corners look incredible now and the stained glass is so gorgeous with an underwater duck paddling going on. i also love how there's an equal and opposite duck artwork opposite. i'm so glad you moved the coffee cabinet and im completely jealous of your lovely tranquil morning coffee moment.
