Grounded I feel is only hard because of the resources but they still give you just enough to beat or pass the level btw you don’t always have to fight the enemy’s or bosses just go around them if you can
yeah. i honesly regret it. i have hundreds of hours in the game and it took my 7 months to do whole game grounded permadeath. im one of less than 100 people to have confirmed done it.
I platinumed everything and it took several years off my actual life. Especially with the one daily chance of No Return on grounded that only took me a couple months. I’m still in therapy but my hair is finally growing back in patches. Totally worth it.

Some of these include invisible while prone and reduced enemy perception/accuracy. There is also a navigation accessibility option where you can enable listen mode to scan for enemies or resources (this doesn't show a white shape of enemies like normal listen mode but it shows a circle to show their location within a specific radius). I know I'm a bit too late but hopefully this helps with playing the game in grounded mode in general. Obviously, this makes the game too easy that you feel dirty but at least you can get the platinum this way.
I loved my grounded playthrough because it recontextualized some scenes in cool ways like for example: When Ellie meets Nora, I arrived without bullets on my gun, so Ellies threat was empty, which added tension on both sides and didnt make Ellie look dumb when she gets hit by the tray. Same further when she is holding Nora hostage. And the one that was arguably the coolest was right at the end. The last encounter was so hard for me that i literally had to use every single resource I had. I didnt know it then but every time i thought to myself "i can probably save a bullet or two" it was for this moment So when finding abby, it wasnt moronic or some kind of honor thing when Ellie puts aside her backpack with all her weapons. It was because there wasnt anything useful in there. It was such a cool connection that happened on such random chance
This is so true. When I replayed the game with custom difficulty I found myself yelling at Ellie to put her damn silencer on when threatening Nora. Nora even calls Ellie out on the noise her gun would make, why tf would she not put the silencer on
not wanting to shit on your acheivment, but if you have 0 bullets the game will try to give them back to you, so that you don't get stuck. so saving bullets isn't as important, as seen by the speedrun of this game
Btw, it wasn't "some kind of honor thing" when Ellie put her backpack aside. It was because she couldn't fully convince herself that she should actually kill Abby. Otherwise she wouldn't have even cut her down.
@@adamibrahim2812 Yes I did it. It works you get the grounded trophy and then you'll get the permadeath trophy when you complete the permadeath playthrough (per chapter works for the trophy). And you can also activate combat accessibility options if you strughle in grounded.

You're the reason I got the plat in Part I Remake last year, really making me fall in love with the game. Which is why I got the plat in Part II Remaster. But I did not do any trophies not needed for the plat. Played on the difficulty right below grounded.

The most annoying thing for me on grounded + permadeath is the annoying loading screens and cut scenes I have to keep going through to get to where I last died. More time is spent looking at a loading screen than anything
Played through on easy for story. Medium as collectible playthrough. Survivor for sake of difficulty. Literally the next day an update with grounded came out. Grounded playthrough. Then about 10 permadeath playthroughs due to random b.s like fall damage and glitching through the map. Some may call me insane , but I know this game like the back of my hand.
Personally, just Grounded which was pretty much 90% stealthing to the exit and if forced to fight, leg shot + melee was incredibly effective and ammo-saving on non-massive enemies. I was too chicken to Permadeath it, I was getting burned out on the game by then too. 😜
If you want to beat the game on grounded go to options combat accessibility and turn on all the options i wish i knew this lmao b4 i did my grounded playthrough
I love how I'm also doing ever achievement in this game and I missed that one workbench in the rattler camp because I had no ammo to clear the area and had to sneak past or lose 12 minutes of progress- So yeah, gotta get that later-
I might be crazy, but I love playing on grounded. Yes I find it extremely frustrating, but it’s so unbelievably rewarding to actually get past challenging bits that take hours to complete. Permadeath tho, yeah screw that mode lol.
18:15 place a mine just by the counter infront of the door. it will kill the brute but not even damage you if you put it in the sweetspot. mines have a large killrange against enemys but smaller damadge range against yourself for some reason. that can come in handy in some occations like cutscenes.
surprisingly enough, the hardest part of the Deathless/Grounded run for me was the Sniper section as Abby. there was nothing i struggled with, but because of really bad planning i had no resources, and mindlessly sprinting didn't work
Tlou2 was the first game I platinumed. It's actually quite easy if you play through it multiple times, I.e. Don't do grounded and permadeath at the same time

No Return sounds fun as hell. The Last Of Us, but as a roguelike and with a bunch of unique playable characters. It's almost like they took a page out of Streets of Rogue's playbook.
I very rarely 100% any games. Mostly because I can’t be bothered spending hours doing repetitive and quite often very difficult tasks just to get 100%.
The brute saraphite at around 19.00. I placed a bomb like 5 feet from the door and one shot him. It knocked me over the counter and skipped the standard cut scene where he grabs you.
When this game dropped on the PS4, I immediately played this on Grounded for my first play through. It was so challenging and difficult that it was fun! Really made me feel like the whole playthrough I was working with sticks and stones just to get to the next checkpoint. I'm glad I did it, and I'm more glad that I could care less about the platinum for this game. I do love collecting Platinum trophies, but only if it's fun. If getting a platinum for a game is going to be difficult for the sake of being difficult by removing fun, the reward of getting the platinum is more of a relief that it's over rather than a sense of joy from accomplishing the challenge... at least that's how it is for me. Congrats to everyone who secured a platinum for this game though!!!!!!

All I have left to do is Grounded with Permadeath. I'm playing Hard with it to see what it's like first. So far I'm having issues with the Infected in the Arcade with Ellie. I'm so damn close to finishing her part!! Also... since I'm not trying to be completely psychotic towards myself, I have the prone invisibility tool turned on. It seems grossly OP at times, but I'm not trying to give myself a complex. In my Grounded playthrough, in the Rattler base I unchained the clickers and they eventually killed almost everyone and I could sneak by, lol
I 100% TLOU 1 in 30 hours, I barely finished TLOU 2 in 35 hours. I played 1 in a few days, I played 2 in a few weeks bc it was so fucking sad to play. Kudos to you getting TLOU2 👏
if you wanted to just get all the trophies in any way possible you can enables cheats on a different playthough then quit to menu and load your grounded playthrough. any cheats you enabled will still be enabled despite being now locked. used invisible while prone to help me get through some sections of my grounded run

Honestly the hardest trophy for me was the No Return Daily challenge on Grounded. You got only one shot every 24 hours and it’s so random on if it’s gonna be easy.

2 years ago I was obsessed with completing whole game, grounded permadeath. I made it ALL THE WAY TO SANTA BARBARA and accidentally blew myself up with my own mine…never tried it again.
I love permadeath because it feels so retro like the old-school arcade machines lol! Almost everyone remembers those times when you only had two tokens/quarters left and you tried to best the game as much as you can before either the entertainment business closed or you d*&d in the game; if you did fail, you had to start all the freaking way over, so permadeath is the ultimate brain-stimulation to any gamer!

I don't get why you'd do the grounded AND permadeath trophies in the same run. There's nothing saying they have to be done at the same time as far as I know. I think it's great for the gamers that can, but if you're dying over and over and over and over, selecting permadeath seems like a waste of time...
Played Part II on grounded and it was a very challenging and miserable experience. Played the original on survivor a bit afterwards and had an absolute blast, while still feeling challenged.
i platinumd this and recently completed a grounded permadeath, but before i got it, i genuinely started tweaking when i got to the farm about 10 hours in and fell through the map
i'm so obsessed with this game that i did almost 350h for a fucking platinium, i almost gave up on the grounded+permadeath part but i just couldn't not think about having it
Yeah i did it!! On this day 14th of September 2024 I finished the game on both Permadeath and Grounded modes simultaneously. I think something like 68 or 78 hour of gameplay. I was shocked when I saw I spent over 48 hours of that 68/78 (cant remember how much exactly) just replaying the chapters after I got killed. Cant imagine anyone finishing it on the most brutal Permadeath mode when getting killed means you must start over. Not on Grounded, not on Hard mode. Maybe on Easy. But I think even on easy I would fall off the sky bridge as Abby, damn. This was my 3rd time finishing the game and I still hate Abby with passion. Some grudges are forever.

Well grounded and permadeth arent needed for the platinum they are their owb seperate dlc catagory. Its really not that bad. Quite enjoyable imo as most the collectibles are actually pretty intresting
Got stuck trying to 100% this on grounded and permadeath on the f***ing rat king boss!! Found a cool hack for the game though if you go into options i think in accessability you can make yourself invisible while prone so you can basically crawl through most fight encounters while not being seen which is great on permadeath when ypu have to keep replaying over and over
it is actually possible to die in an animation with the right circumstances. during the Ellie fight, on the last phase, she was placing a trap mine and I hit her with a bottle. I hit her and during the animation, the bomb exploded. be careful when you hit Ellie during the fight guys.
I got Plat, but I only have the PS4 version so DLC And I maxed out the weapons and skill trees before playing a permadeath on easy and then grounded Don't play grounded and permadeath at the same time unless you want to cry. That is a choice

Weren’t the loading screens severely reduced in Remastered though? Now it’s around 4-6 seconds instead of 30-60 seconds?
Try it on grounded it deletes the full save and you have to start from the beginning

For Ellie and the gun challenge. Use the drop box if the are in the arena, there about a 80% chance it will be a gun.
Permadeath is easy. You don't have to restart from the beginning of the game. Set it to restart the chapter instead.
This would have been a Controller saver if people didn't ignore it

I got the platinum but the grounded permadeath achievements are diabolical. It can still be hard on very hard lol
if you wanted to just get all the trophies in any way possible you can enables cheats on a different playthough then quit to menu and load your grounded playthrough. any cheats you enabled will still be enabled despite being now locked. used invisible while prone to help me get through some sections of my grounded run
You don't need to finish it on Grounded for platinum now i litterally platinumed it today and didn't need it, enjoyed it aswell 😊

I plan on playing it this year, probably near the end. Need to finish RDR1 first! In fact, I hope to play as many Rockstar games on this channel before GTA 6 come out.
Honestly the hardest trophy for me was the No Return Daily challenge on Grounded. You got only one shot every 24 hours and it’s so random on if it’s gonna be easy.

i’m SO close to getting it. except for the no return mode. that’s just hell, most likely going to stream me doing all of this 😭 I did grounded and perma death and it took me 42 hours and 4 weeks but i did it.
To make it easier to get the trophy for completing a daily run on grounded mode, just enable all combat accessibility options. Some of these include invisible while prone and reduced enemy perception/accuracy. There is also a navigation accessibility option where you can enable listen mode to scan for enemies or resources (this doesn't show a white shape of enemies like normal listen mode but it shows a circle to show their location within a specific radius). I know I'm a bit too late but hopefully this helps with playing the game in grounded mode in general. Obviously, this makes the game too easy that you feel dirty but at least you can get the platinum this way.

Grounded + permadeath that makes you restart the whole game ( not only the chapter ) is the REAL challenge here , I'm on my way to my 25th playthrough , It's terrible but I love it tho 💀

2 years ago I was obsessed with completing whole game, grounded permadeath. I made it ALL THE WAY TO SANTA BARBARA and accidentally blew myself up with my own mine…never tried it again.
i got the platinum before perma death and grounded so happy with that achievement
I beat grounded+ permadeath per chapter. Lowkey was a fun experience but damn lost 50 hours dying.
I felt no shame turning on “invisible while prone” for the no return daily challenge to get 100% 🏆

I love permadeath because it feels so retro like the old-school arcade machines lol! Almost everyone remembers those times when you only had two tokens/quarters left and you tried to best the game as much as you can before either the entertainment business closed or you d*&d in the game; if you did fail, you had to start all the freaking way over, so permadeath is the ultimate brain-stimulation to any gamer!
at least arcade games didnt have a slooow start
You don't have to restart from the beginning. You can just restart the chapter.

I don't get why you'd do the grounded AND permadeath trophies in the same run. There's nothing saying they have to be done at the same time as far as I know. I think it's great for the gamers that can, but if you're dying over and over and over and over, selecting permadeath seems like a waste of time...
Played Part II on grounded and it was a very challenging and miserable experience.
Played the original on survivor a bit afterwards and had an absolute blast, while still feeling challenged.
Finding all the collectables in these games must be a nightmare.
Tlou 2 has easier collectibles to find than Tlou 1 at least!

Yeah i did it!! On this day 14th of September 2024 I finished the game on both Permadeath and Grounded modes simultaneously.
I think something like 68 or 78 hour of gameplay. I was shocked when I saw I spent over 48 hours of that 68/78 (cant remember how much exactly) just replaying the chapters after I got killed.
Cant imagine anyone finishing it on the most brutal Permadeath mode when getting killed means you must start over. Not on Grounded, not on Hard mode. Maybe on Easy. But I think even on easy I would fall off the sky bridge as Abby, damn. This was my 3rd time finishing the game and I still hate Abby with passion. Some grudges are forever.

I've only platinumed the original part 2 and the remastered version, i can't be bothered trying to 100% the hardcore and other ones

Well grounded and permadeth arent needed for the platinum they are their owb seperate dlc catagory. Its really not that bad. Quite enjoyable imo as most the collectibles are actually pretty intresting
Got stuck trying to 100% this on grounded and permadeath on the f***ing rat king boss!! Found a cool hack for the game though if you go into options i think in accessability you can make yourself invisible while prone so you can basically crawl through most fight encounters while not being seen which is great on permadeath when ypu have to keep replaying over and over
it is actually possible to die in an animation with the right circumstances. during the Ellie fight, on the last phase, she was placing a trap mine and I hit her with a bottle. I hit her and during the animation, the bomb exploded. be careful when you hit Ellie during the fight guys.
I got Plat, but I only have the PS4 version so DLC
And I maxed out the weapons and skill trees before playing a permadeath on easy and then grounded
Don't play grounded and permadeath at the same time unless you want to cry. That is a choice
