What a great cruise that was … I did the northern circle tour and it was freezing out there lol - but really beautiful even with the snow and mist. Plus I caught the same cold you did - hit me on debarkation day! Glad I found your channel. Cheers!!
It was a great cruise. We really enjoyed the ship and itinerary. Thankfully, the cold didn't spoil the the trip, and we were able to carry on with a nice day out in Kirkwall. Kirstie got the cold when we got home.
Just found your channel via ThemeParkBazza and you have some nice videos, appreciate the more cinematic style, we have been attempting to do something akin!! We have did the Apex back in August to Norway and loved the ship. We also did a small boat cruise (really small around 10 cruisers) around Scotland which was really beautiful a lovely part of the world.
we were on the same cruise as you , had a brilliant time, first time with celebrity, and wont be our last for sure, did the whale watching that day, and did manage to see some despite being the end of the season .spent most eves in the martini bar, really relaxing place
Lucky that you had an early excursion so you could see the beauty of the mountains and waterfalls. Sorry you were feeling poorly, Andy and hope it went away quickly.
@@andyandkirstie Same as ourselves, very lucky with the weather at the time, rained once the whole time we were in Iceland on our cruise, would love to go again for a bit longer though.
@@andyandkirstie 100%, always feel that a day is not enough in a port, we barely had time to do excursions and look around the towns. If cruise left later like 10pm it would be better I think, we had to be aboard around 5pm (Princess).
Hi we did Norway and Iceland on Sky princess this july. Fantastic! but had to buy a woolly hat in iceland. one day was really cold. Sympathise with you feeling ill, we both caught bad colds -luckily at the end of our cruise. Didn't shame it off for ages and did wonder if it was another strain of covid.
Thankfully, I only felt ill for a couple of evenings and after that, I didn't feel too bad, but the symptoms have lingered for ages. Kirstie got it when we got home and it was the same for her.
Yeah, didn't think of that at the time, but it does! I got over that cold quickly, but I'm just getting over a horrendous flu I've had all week, hence the delay in posting the last video.
Hello Kirstie and Andy. Would like to hear your views on a Fred Olsen cruise to the Azores and Madeira. We are both in our 70's and Canadians. Are we wasting our time and money? Thank you for your videos.
We really enjoyed our cruise on Fred Olsen Bollette. Nice small/ medium-sized ship and a very traditional style. Definitely wouldn't suit everyone, but it's definitely our thing. As for the itinerary, we can't offer much of an opinion because we haven't done it. It's supposed to be nice, though, and the weather is likely to be good.
Another vlog of your i enjoyed very much..Its horrible been unwell on holiday isnt it?takes the shine off things..I had an upset stomach all week on our recent holiday to Zante..
I also picked up that cold, battled through it and took advantage of the drinks package to see off the bottle of Mr Johnnie Walker! Three weeks later its still not left me completely, worst cold I've had for years.
From memory, this must be the first time I have seen you with a cold!! Loving these vlogs, always pleased to see when a new one gets uploaded! How does Celebrity compare with P&O?
Actually, I had a really nasty flu about 5 weeks before we travelled, so pretty unlucky to then get a cold on the cruise! P&O aren't in the same league as Celebrity.
Hi Kirstie and Andy. Looking at the presentation and texture of the food served on Celebrity compared to what you received on Fred Olsen, the food on Fred Olsen looked like dog vomit to put it mildly. What's your take on this comparison. Thank you
I don't remember food on Fred Olsen looking like dog vomit, if I'm honest! It was actually OK. Celebrity food is definitely up there as the best overall, though.
Great video again, sorry ur not well, here's to a speedy recovery 👍 Is this cruise suitable for me as solo traveller? Who do u use to book urs thru? Always informative and nice 2c the ships. Viv in Darlo x
Thanks 👍 Only felt rough for a short time, despite the symptoms lingering for ages. Don't see any reason why it wouldn't be suitable for a solo traveller. There are loads of places to sit and chat with other passengers. We booked through Iglu.
@andyandkirstie thank you for info, I watch all ur vlogs, don't comment very often, soz. Single supplement price me out on 99% cruise deals. Looking for norwegian fjords 2026 so 🤞 keep vlogs coming & keep taking the tablets x
My wife is disabled.. but want to go on a cruise... .. im 50 shes 57 ... we aint saga louts .. although ive done the ibiza thing and am still a big kid .. brother tjis video is outstanding ❤❤
What amazes me is that there's many breakouts of Covid-19 everywhere, work places, hospitals, funeral homes etc when people are gathering but I never here of any Covid-19 breakouts on cruise ships? Either cruise ships are immune to Covid-19 or the cruise industry is holding back....What's your thoughts as seasoned cruisers? Thank you
I don't think the cruise lines would withhold information. It'll be out there somewhere. Although I got a minor cold on this cruise, I've only had that once before, in all the cruises we've done. The only time I had Covid was caught through work. I'm just getting over a nasty flu I've picked up somewhere, just in daily life. Kirstie got really ill with a stomach bug on holiday a couple of years ago, but that wasn't a cruise. I don't think cruise ships are worse than anywhere else and they've got the protocols nailed now.
Good morning. Very nice tour. Rather you than me but amazing views. One of the Gift Shops at Akureyri has a resident cat who was just amazing. It was bad weather as I was also there.
@@andyandkirstie I forgot to add had Covid booster yesterday due to some lung issues spent day on couch feeling like death but your upload lifted me spirits so thank you. Enjoy your evening!

Hi guys another great vlog as always 😊 The way you put these vlogs together are great 👍 hope you start to feel better Really soon
Thanks so much! 😊
Great vlog Andy & kirstie the sea looked like it was rocking and rolling 😻
Thanks! Yes, we had some choppy seas on this cruise. Ship coped well, though.
What a bummer feeling rough, Andy. Hope you soon felt much better. Thank you for still doing the videoing......a real trouper 😊
Thanks 👍 I actually felt much less ill 24hrs later, but the symptoms have lingered for weeks.

Yeah, we heard the whale watching can be pretty good. We liked the martini bar too. Often something going on in there and good cocktails.
Andy, did you contract Covid-19 while you were on this cruise?
No
Lucky that you had an early excursion so you could see the beauty of the mountains and waterfalls. Sorry you were feeling poorly, Andy and hope it went away quickly.
Yeah, only really felt ill for 24hrs and it seemed to mostly pass, although the symptoms dragged on well after we got home.
We were in Akureyri in July, it was wonderful, Godafoss was a highlight for us, luckily it was 16C when we were there at the height of summer.
To be fair, we were pretty lucky the rain held off for our excursion.
@@andyandkirstie Same as ourselves, very lucky with the weather at the time, rained once the whole time we were in Iceland on our cruise, would love to go again for a bit longer though.
Yes, what we did see was great, but we definitely need more time to explore. The excursions are good, but I always feel a bit rushed.

Recovering, but not great. Managed to get the last video finished and uploading.
The sea isn't that rough, just a nice moderate chop and swell, a little roll and pitch to put you asleep.
