- This captivating 2-D animation, combined with stop-motion, is not your everyday how-to video. The film artistically explains the "lost wax" technique, a simple bronze casting process applied here to a plaster replica of the original bronze statue of the Roman emperor Hadrian found in Tel-Shalem, Israel, dating to A.D. 117-138 . Filmmakers Renana Aldor and Kobi Vogman worked hand in hand with the curator and restoration department of the museum for the "Hadrian" exhibition in Jerusalem's Israel Museum.

Bravo !!
amazing! 👍
why they put nail in the fisrt place? please explain, and i though the nail gonna put damaged on statue when you removed but its not, and how ?
Very cool 👍
Proceso complicado !
É muito interessante e elucidativo ... no entanto fiquei com uma duvida ...Quem era o imperador que teve a honra de ter o seu rosto esculpido a bronze?? este rosto é de facto desconhecido...
Wow!
SO when they chiseled off a nail setting I noticed it chipped part of the nose on the right side. and they never ever fixed it.
amazing > number 3
Would these have been painted to look more lifelike?
What are the nails for?
So that the inside mold is kept in the same place after the wax melts. With out the nails the inside mold would just fall to the bottom of the outside mold.
My Hadrian!! Emperor Hadrian!
Augustus ! still better
Why does the statue look like Lil'Dicky?

An angle grinder would have been helpful! Did they at least have something equivalent to a hacksaw or did they always use a chisel?

dear video makers/directors.....some of us watch your stuff on our smart phones, as this is the only means of having internet. If adding words to the screen, please make them BIG enough for us to see. i couldnt read anything. With only the animation and no words, this video was quite boring. just keep this in mind for the next one.....
or you could get glasses
I'm using a phone and could read fine
exactly....lol
Please tell me your comment was a joke.
