Judging from the change in brightness and color in the Japanese release, it might end up being that Epic Mickey Rebrushed could use the same brightness as the Japanese release.

That kinda is the case with the demo coming out. You can change it though luckily

@@ineedzemedic5810it’s not that bad, it just makes the game look good, even if it’s supposed to be a literal wasteland, you still want to enjoy looking at the game, so I think the Japanese version did it well, both are good but yknow.

I think the Japanese are used to more vibrant and brighter colors because of anime.
That's why they adjusted the brightness for the Japanese release

The additions of text are the biggest deal to me here. Why weren't those included in the other releases?? In some cases, it actually adds context to what's happening! I never understood why Gus never introduced himself formally, for instance.
I understand why you think it's useless, but to me, it's flavor text that adds more to the story experience, making it feel a bit more full. Then again, if he does explain some of these things later, it's understandable why they would be unnecessary early on, but to me, it still feels like I'm actually given a reason to move forward at the start of the game, and it's just more believable storytelling to me regardless.
For instance, the World of Gremlins always felt to me like an odd detour we take before the actual core game, especially since we never return to it. It always felt pretty disjointed from everything we do after reaching Mean Street, and this extra intro text at least gives us more proper context about them Gremlin guys and why they're so important. Plus, it'd be weird if the guy that sticks around with us for the whole game didn't at least introduce himself properly. And while seeing Oswald's face around the castle should give us enough context regarding him being the ruler of Wasteland, it strikes me as particularly weird that Gus doesn't really explain who he is when we first see him, but only when we get to Mickeyjunk Mountain, about a third of the game in.

Japanese version came out way after the original, in August 2011

@@SlayCap yeah, I assumed so as well, that's why I find those to be pretty cool additions

The paris version of epic Mickey should have the clocktower replaced by the Disneyland paris version.

Is it bad that I kinda like the Japanese version better with its added text and brighter colors?
