In this video I describe the purpose and method of using the black body node in Blender 2.8, and why it's important to use it if you want realistic lighting.
Yes, It is. I have created a set of node groups that allows you to not only substitute completely the original blackbody node but also change the white balance in the compositor. Also created another node group that works specifically with light groups to change the color of pure white light sources added previously to light groups. At the moment the light groups node group can handle 10 different light groups. I have made my source blend file available to anyone on Blender Artists. I came up with this solution cause there was no native solution in Blender to deal with white balance in the compositor. After a long period of studies and headaches I developed them. My nodegroups are based on RGB curves and not color samples chart as the native blackbody node in Blender is built (I don't know why they decided to build it this way) I also built my blackbody node group to be able to cover temperatures from 1000 k to 40000 k. Since it's built based on curves it has smooth transitions between any given color temperatures and in the compositor the white balance node group works well in images rendered using the native blackbody node as well. so you have to use a material with an emission shader to use blackbody? IS there no way to change the color of a light based on the kelvin scale?
ah ok so that only works in Cycles and then i have nodes for my light source
this doesnt support with eevee?
Yup, this method works just as well with Eevee as with Cycles
@@RoryAllenBlender in my pc doesnt work, the light still remain white. i used light nodes btw.
