      It's honestly amazing what they were able to accomplish in 2011 with only 100 people. Despite the many flaws of Skyrim, it's still one of my favorite games that I go back to once in a while. Less so now due to new games and Bethesda stuffing it with Microtransactions, but I got like 5 different characters to play through currently so if I'm bored I know what I can do.

    Skyrim moddings came so far in such a short amount of time. I remember SkySA being released and that was seen as revolutionary. Now we have MCO which is more advanced and we can download entire mod packs with one click. Only issues I have with NOVLUS is the balancing issues with the stances and most of the new armor sets. Weapons like swords (especially great swords) feel way more stronger than the other weapons in their respective one/two handed classes because of the sheer speed which you can swing in certain stances. Greats swords just feel ridiculously OP compared to other two handed weapons because of Stance 2 animation set.

      It's always better to simply put in the time to figure out the exact mods you want. After the initial setup it is an easy matter of maintenance with occasional updates or adding another mod here and there.
      I have always been fundamentally opposed to mod packs, especially considering how incredibly easy it is to mod.
      In my experience, most people that use mod packs are just scared of modding. In the beginning of the video Matty mentions having issues with 50-100 mods and from my perspective I cannot even imagine what someone would be doing to have issues with so few mods.
      I have an entry level computer and I can easily run over 500 mods, many of which are very large. I have NEVER had an issue with save files or CTDs. In the very rare occasion of a conflict, I can typically resolve it in a couple of minutes.

    • @daquinz
      @daquinz 7 месяцев назад

      The problem with this is that you'll have to play through the entire game to know if the modlist works without issues. If you're unlucky, the game crashes or some other issue occurs mid-playthrough. When using a mod collection like Nolvus or any other collection from Nexus, you'll know it's been well tested and confirmed to work on a playthrough (at least for the well known, high rated collections).

    • @StationaryEarth
      @StationaryEarth 7 месяцев назад

      @@rolf1819 It is profoundly difficult to understand why anyone would be upset by the thought of having to learn something that is so simple to do.
      Are you like that with everything in your life?
      If modding is crap anyway, why waste your time even with a mod pack? Also, if you have so little time to spare that you can't take 45 minutes to learn the fundamentals of modding you probably shouldn't be playing games to begin with. Mod managers basically do everything for you.
      Why on earth were you are railing as though I was advocating for violence against mod packs or their compilers. Are you okay? Do you need some help? It is absolutely better to do it yourself.
      Mod packs make the game into what someone else wants, not what the player would otherwise build if given the option on their own to choose individual mods. I just want the player to have the most personalized experience possible. I can't even imagine why someone would not want a completely tailored experience when it is at their very fingertips to achieve.

    Yeah my own Skyrim collection was lost when my drive broke. Nolvus was an upgrade on what I had, virtually the same choices with one or two I didn't need to activate. Love it. Seasonal, LotD, combat upgrades, wide choice of apparel, loads of followers, some of the best quest mods, all the additional villages and towns, Anniversary friendly, survival optional (I hate it, but realize it is a must for others). The one thing I would change is the clothing choice, it's a bit skimpy sometimes and I do miss the classic, updated immersive armor mod, I may look into adding that back in, as I know it used to be part of the pack. Wabbajack's Lost Legacy and Elysium Remastered will be preferred by some and are very similar. All three are valid softcore choices for those of us who don't want to reload every minute of our precious time. Incidentally I love BG3 and even Starfield too. Had a blast with all three of these recently.

    Npc wise I have the most popular mod with improved AI and quest packs and tavern idles. I’m a realist so I do advanced follower overhaul to caravan about as well.
    But I think the coolest mod this year is the advanced ai framework. It’s got two content modules that start active competition between factions. Currently restricted to the reach, but includes capturing resource nodes and spawn points for reinforcement, like mines and camp. Like Skyrim at war, you’re gonna want get the corpse clearing mod…it’s pretty sick. And just friggin interesting to watch and participate in too. I even hit a few points to balance things out when it looked like one of the factions was starting to steam roll.

Even though most of these modlists/packs go a bit over the top when it comes to combat animations (the somersaults), they do shed light on the fact that combat in ES needs a change. I have a theory that the main character in Skyrim is The Dedric Prince of Smithing and Enchanting but hasn't ascended yet.
    And that the reason that all the gods favor him is because they know that one day he will grow up to become one of them and would rather be on his good side once he ascends so they treat him good while he is still in mortal form.
    My logic is that while he decent at other skills he can literally create god tier weapons that are strong enough to one shot lesser deities like Kaarstag and the Ebony Warrior.
