- I knocked on this random homeowners door and she said she knew who I was. It took me ALL morning to find someone to help out with their yard, I knocked on countless doors and almost gave up. But finally when I went to knock on this door as my last try for the day, this awesome person answered and when I asked if they wanted me to mow there yard they said yes right away because they recognized me from RUclips, which is pretty wild. THIS YARD WAS SUPER OVERGROWN! the fence line was out of control I can't wait to show you guys this makeover!! its so SATISFYING!! I love y'all and hope you enjoy!!!!

Al, you are an absolute saint. What you do for people is incredible. What always blows my mind is that rarely do these home owners help you. I understand some of them are elderly or might have disabilities but this woman looked capable of going outside and picking up some of that junk laying around to clear space for you to work. She said she was embarrassed but it's more embarrassing to sit inside of your house like a queen while you work so hard.

I don’t think some of these ppl want to be on camera. I think some do come out for awhile and Al respects their privacy. But I do agree I would be out there throwing some stuff away, and helping if he came my way. Al would certainly have a cool drink and snacks if he wanted them. I give Al a 10 on the trampoline skills.
It wouldn’t be safe to be out with that rotary mower..it could pick something up and hit someone.

I suffer with severe depression and insomnia. Just want you to know that your videos have helped me tremendously with relaxing and ease my mind the last few weeks. I can fall sleep watching them but in a good way. Also now have the ambition to try and get a mower like yours to do what you do as i enjoy both helping people and landscaping, like you obviously. Might take a while but I'll get there. Thank you Al , for both the physical help and mental help you do for people. Keep pushing

Doing a job like that is part of our DNA! Who doesn't like planting a garden and tending flowers. Watching you care for a messy yard somehow sooths the soul.
Our lives are messy but your work shows that it is possible to solve problems, one at a time.
There will always be messy yards/lives and the tools to restore them: mower, weed eater, saw, etc/faith, hope, love and a mighty Savior!

I have been watching your videos a lot getting inspired of what I could do with my property, i.e. clean it up. Watching you jumping off your ute and how you're knees bent to take the impact. How I wished I had done that when dismounting from a 16 hand horse at riding for the disabled here in New Zealand. This dismount did not see me walking away, I fractured my tibia. After operation I was put into a metal leg straightener, hopping around the house with the use of a frame. Tomorrow I go back to hospital to see if my bones have knitted back together, to hopefully be able to weight bare in part for that leg, to start the physiotherapy treatment on it. However I still have time as here it is spring to reclaim my section.

As with vacuuming, immediate gratification…seeing the results right away! I’ve been under a lot of stress lately with health problems, and having to take a lot of pain meds that I don’t want! And god said to the weary traveler “thou actually shalt steal thy neighbors weed trimmer and sell it for pennies on the dollar so that thou mightist purchase a sandwich” Remember, not all ghouls look like monsters…

I’ve noticed Al, that many of these yards are what I’d classify as “monster yards” in that they are HUGE. I can certainly see why some have become overgrown, in that the homeowner may not have the time, money, ability, or equipment to keep up with it. Your services are very much needed in these cases.
I for one, who still maintains my own property of an acre, as a 69 year old woman, says, Bravo Al, and thank you for your kind services! 🙏

My wife and I are in our 70's, have both battled back from cancer and still take care of a 42 acre farm and raise a garden. It's not easy but it beats giving up.

Al, I love that you don't just cut the lawn; you weedwack, move items to get to the hidden grass/weeds, tidy the edge lines on paved areas, cut the vines from the fences, trim overgrown trees, haul away the brush... You are a class act.

It seems that every distressed property you do needs a 40 yard dumpster to fit all of the junk people have just laying in their yards. Your work makes a great difference! Keep up the great work and videos!

What a humongous yard! You went all out on this one! I can't believe how much stuff you moved and rearranged and even took away. It looks like a completely different place! You can see that somebody used to take good care of it all. I guess it just got overwhelming. Maybe now they can work on it starting from here. Sometimes that's all it takes - somebody to come in and set the big picture in place so you can work on the details. You did that for her.

Put any money towards a battery operated camera that you can temporarily mount on clients house, pointed at your pickup……
The problem is even if you see them take it. How are you gonna catch them even if you have a picture of me show the cops who’s 9 million people that probably look just like the guy. It’s a bummer all the way around you’ve got to catch him in the act and rope them up until the police get there

I feel you should ask her about all the debris around her property and see if she would like it removed. If so, you could use the super thanks money to rent a dumpster for her and have it taken away. Or, maybe purchase a wood chipper for the tree limbs you get from tree trimming and use it on the properties you clean up as mulch. 😊
True. However, that’s a different story. That will need to involve another company- renting and placing the dumpster, collect and dump the debris and ensure it’s removed from her property. He works solo. He finishes the job and move on.
I think what Al does goes beyond awesome and is genuinely kind of him. But there is more to cleaning a property than mowing and trimming. We don't know her situation. I'm a 60-y/o female disabled veteran with physical limitations. My physical limitations are not from my military service, but from growing up on a farm and doing hard labor on 10 acres, from building fences to bucking hay to mucking stalls. This woman may live alone and not have the ability to do it on her own. Just a thought not a judgement.
@@Terrae-Veteran I'm 73, I walk my yard weekly and if it's garbage, dead, or useless I cut it up (pruners, hedge trimmers, reciprocating saw, etc.) in smaller pieces and then I cart it to the wheelie bin with a 33-gallon garbage can and a hand truck. I'm old, my knees hurt, but I refuse to use my yard as a dump.
Al needs to stick to basic lawn service so he can quickly move on to help other people in need. He has helped her a great deal, now she should try to keep her lawn clean and tidy.

Why don't you get a homeless person to help you mow/cut/blowoff yards and then pay them something. That could instill pride in them, provide a meal, start a conversation, gain you a friend, etc.. Might be just the boost someone needs. That would also help you do more of your good works.
That's an interesting idea only there are complications.
Mental illness, crime, drugs. How do you vet a homeless person? If only this was a more perfect world...

The elderly really do appreciate your kindness. After 45 years of taking pride in weekly lawn and garden maintenance we,as many other elderly folks are disabled and unable to maintain the lawn. Thanks again for your kindness. Love your RUclips channel..😊

I’m finding it sad… the signs of a life that “used to be”.. abandoned and forgotten. The patio not used and overgrown, barbecue idle, pots that used to be landscaping.. all signs of an old life. It’s moving to see the old life that WAS unearthed from the massive mess. 😢
You see that a lot as people age and lose the ability to take care of the yard. I had trimmed the Russian Olive trees in our yard. My grandmother had planted them at least50 years ago. Then I just did it again. I am sure it will be the last time I am physically able to do it.
The kids grow up and leave. So people spend less time grilling. Until finally the only way the yard gets any work is if someone else does it. Then the old person or people are gone. The property gets a new family and a rejuvenation. It's a cycle.

@soulburst but that is all at a risk, there is no guarantee that they will make anything and tbh what he does is not easy. I wouldn't want to do it even if I was being paid well.
