There have been two issues with the Hubba Hubba 2/3, and a few of the MSR tents that use the Easton Psyclone poles. First is that several people have gotten slivers from the poles. The other is that a few tents had the taped seams come loose. I own this tent and have a video on my channel showing how to remedy both of these issues.

My Hubba-hubba 2P got me all the way from Georgia to Maine. Never an issue of any kind. The bathtub was literally floating one time when I made the mistake of setting up in a ravine before a flash flood. No water came through! A little heavy in today's market - but I consider it "good weight", for sure.

Really happy that you featured a Waymark pack in this video.
There are many discussions in r/ultralight about UL fabric; Dyneema vs X-pac vs Robic.
I’m no scientist, but Ecopak fabric is 100% recycled polyester, made without solvent based glues, and offers a solid balance of weight, weather resistance, and rigidity for cost. I’d argue there’s value in that balance of properties.

These videos (like almost all others on the net) are aimed at well-heeled, experienced backpackers/hikers. Everything's top dollar. I'm glad there's enough wealthy RUclipsrs browsing, keeping these specialists going, but it disappoints me. Where's the gear for less-affluent people wanting to get more outdoors? Where's the gear for the beginning backpacker? Remember what is what like when you were just getting into it, how all the gear overwhelmed you with its technical aspects, its cost? Honestly, remember when the guides (like The Complete Walker) and certainly the small outdoor adventure stores were much, much more aimed at a wide spectrum of hikers? Everybody seems now to have drunk the Koolaid and forgotten to address the wider audience.

Hey David, it's true I have a tendency to lean towards talking about pricier gear. I like your advice though. I'll try to incorporate some more budget friendly options.

The MSR tent colors go all the way back to Moss tents which they bought out and yes not very attractive. I used to have one of those Moss tents. My ground hog tent stakes have Moss tents on them.

MSR should really consider abandoning that colour, ugk. The colour was my deciding factor why I bought the Copper Spur instead.

Sorry MSR - pea soup/mustard color is absolute deal-breaker. Please go back to grey/white! (love your doggie)

So the Hubba Hubba became a lighter weight Elixir with a different pole design. Good luck in hot weather. My 2017 Hubba is always my go to tent. Sorry to see that crappy new design.

The civilian tent floating cloud 2 tent is my first choice, not the so-called luxury tent.

I’m interested in seeing a full review of the MSR tent, especially how it functions in the rain. Are the seams taped, or is MSR still using their proprietary way of stitching the seams to achieve waterproofness, whish is marginal at best. Although a full review won’t touch on it unless you experience a problem, I sincerely hope that MSR’s customer service has improved, because, in my experience, it has been abhorrent in the past. Not cool from a company selling “top tier” gear.

    At 18 I was 5' 11 3/4". At 73 I am 5' 8". Getting old is a bitch.

Do you think your Waymark UL pack was embarrassed to have a nalgene bottle in the side pocket? 😉

16 + 16 = 32 + 8= 40 Oz. 2 lb, 8 oz.... math. Not an ounce weenie, but math teaching is in my bones. Sorry late to party. Just found your channel. I know you won't see this, but the comment will help the algorithm so others can see it, and maybe see the correct weight, lol. It's all in fun
