- Flight 93, 9/11 and Mark Bingham with Alice Hoagland, a SF bay area resident.
Flight 93 was headed from Newark, NJ to San Francisco, CA on Sept 9, 2001 when it was hijacked by terrorists and crashed in Stonycreek Township in Pennsylvania.
Alice's son Mark Bingham was on that flight & he called her from the plane to let her know that their flight was in trouble. That was the last time Alice, a former flight attendant, spoke to her son. He and others on-board the flight put up a fight as Alice points out.
In this interview Alice recollects and shares those last moments with her son. After the loss of her son, Alice has devoted her time and energy working on airline safety and for LGBT rights. Her son Mark was gay and part of a gay soccer club in San Francisco. She also talks about a new documentary "The Rugby Player," about her son and the gay soccer club he helped found in San Francisco. She also works with the Mark Bingham Foundation.

I read that Alice passed away not too long ago. Hopefully she is having a wonderful reunion with Mark ❤️
I never knew Todd and Mark went to HS together, shows they were truly meant to be on that plane. Along with Jeremy Glick, he had a flight the night before and the weather was bad so he decided to fly out on the 11th.
Sorry to hear she has passed. What a beautiful lady she was.
@@rosesanderson306 She passed away last year. Lovely woman and a great vitality to her spirit.
She was a fucking paid liar.
Her son was a wonderful young man. Rest in Peace dear fella. The world is proud of you.
I remember the morning after 9-11 watching her interview with Matt Lauer. I was blown away with her articulation and sheer grace under the duress of losing her son. She is a strong woman. I remain fascinated by her happiness...in spite of ALL she has been through. It is both inspiring...and perhaps somewhat surreal as she is able to simply exude an inner peace I have rarely witnessed. Then again, had any of us witnessed anything close to 9-11??
Crisis actor.
R. I. P Alice Hoglan (October 6 1949 - December 20 2020)
Having seen her interviews over the years she always struck me as a very conscientious, loving and caring person. May she rest in peace.
It's now December 20th, 2016. It's been 15 years since that day in September, a day that changed the world. Today I wish to say how much I admire Mark for his selfless acts. He along with other passengers on the flight were the first to actually fight back against the terrorists who wanted to kill as many Americans as possible. Posthumously I can't thank Mark enough for his brave actions. He has shown a generation just what it is to truly give of oneself for the needs of others.
I will never forget his actions nor the inspiring words of his Mother.
The secretary of defense, Donald Rumsfeld, said Flight 93 was shot down. Albeit, it was a slip up, he still said it. That means there was no heroic cockpit takeover. The data taken from recorder (which tested every 4 seconds) also indicated that the cockpit door was never opened. There would have been a struggle to keep it open and get the terrorists out. What a great patriotic story though...sounds a lot better than getting horrificly shot out of the sky by friendly fire.
Thanks to Mossad CIA Bush. Controlled demolition. WTC 1, 2 and 7. Follow the money.
heard the recording of you voice today at the memorial and was very touched by your courage to instruct your son to take over the cockpit with fellow passengers. Who knows if he didn't get your call..he saved a lot of lives. Bless him and the others who were with him.
My God some of you are ignorant. For everyone commenting on her demeanor, first of all everyone grieves differently,. I heard her in a documentary that she is at peace and grateful for the time she had with Mark. So to me, she's happy to talk and boast about her son that she lost and loved so much. There is nothing wrong with that.
He called his mom and said “mom, this is Mark Bingham? “ if you call your mom , she knows your voice. That’s the odd stuff that makes people question what happened.
Knowing your going to Die you do things you wouldn't do!! Most call out Mom before Death, my friend did hope you don't do IT! or have to hear it you will never forget it.
Geez, yeah I would be relaxed and everything.
Yeah no reason to not act cool as a cucumber while you’re on a airplane that a terrorist is in control of. Wild stuff lmao
Oddly, he forgot to tell his mom and auntie that he just watched the pilot/assistant and a few others get knifed to death. You believe me, don't you mom?
@@jasonjohnson3424 nothing odd about that. His mom knew it was him. Conspiracy tinfoil hats are the dumbest people in the world
"Pleased" one of the words during her interview
Boy...the smiles on this lady ..I don't get it.....and the reference to Canada....what's over the border there! Interviews! Hideouts? What I'm stuck on is that descent to 500 Feet..... Sounds like a landing . Not a crash....if I were talking about my son crashing I think I'd still be in hysterics 50 years later.....
To me 9/11 seems like everybody involved took off into the country of their choice with 5 million a piece or some such and the ability for any of their friends and family to come visit them whenever on free passes....and that's how they are living . While the family gets these touring circuits to do. They eat steak and lobster go shopping etc etc ...
That's honestly what my intuition says.
Well this comment tells me your intuition is crap and that you're idiot.
She's having a jolly good time reminiscing about her son's harrowing death and the last time she'd ever speak with him. But we all experience grief differently. You believe me, don't you mom?
Hi Mom its Mark Bingham.
He did what he only could of done he put up a fight they all did they saved a lot people on the ground they were truly heroes and never will be forgotten all them people who lost there lives that day that a lesson is learned no matter what never go down without a fight with love from the uk ❤
Whatever happened it happened so~ WE MUST ALWAYS REMEMBER TO NEVER FORGET!
All of the passagers joined in the fighting over a long time ago.
Why would a son say “Hi mum my name is Mark Bingham” What a bs.
I rember that morning I was 11 years old watching it on the news getting dressed for school watching people falling from the towers and all i was thinking was what in the name of god was going threw there minds the only way out was to jump I rember going to school that day just thinking about it and we sang a song for all the lives what was lost that day
Alice was a fraud and complicit in the crime. No child with a normal and close relationship like this with their mother calls them and uses their first and last name. That's just hysterical.
Yeah, unfortunately most people believe mainstream news and believe the official story with multiple impossibilities
It's also the first time in history that a commercial airliner vanished and vaporizers completely after striking the ground in a nose dive. The fact that people actually believe that is frightening
Do you have to work hard to be that stupid, or does it come naturally to you?
I am sorry that your son was a butt of the nasty conspiracy theories. I am glad that you had found good that came from death of your son through the many charities that you had founded. Mark would have been proud of everything you had accomplished
The only conspiracy is someone calling their mother and using their first and last name, as if she wouldn't know her own adult son's voice. Put your head back in the sand.
Did she have 2 sons named Mark by 2 different men? Why else would he state his first and last name? and why would she repeat him saying that. Weird.
Who knows why he said it, Why wouldn’t she repeat exactly what he said?
She repeated him saying it originally, because that's what he said. She mentioned it here because it was something people questioned.
As for him saying it...the man was stressed and in shock. After seeing people attacked, understanding his situation and trying to remain calm, his body could be on slight autopilot.
Can you make a cell phone call at high altitudes?
Back then airplanes had air phones in the seat backhand. You used your credit card to swipe and connect. They worked at high altitudes.
No they could not. Search for Rebekah Roth. The flight attended who explained everything. Sorry for the lady. She is talking BS. There where no terrorists.
John M is all over the place. On every YT video. He is paid by CIA.
I used a phone attached to the seat back in front of me on a Delta Airlines flight from Philadelphia to Dallas in 1993.
Her demeanor seems odd when she speaks about this tragedy.
your comment seems odd. homophobe perhaps?
Poor woman
I'm not sure if this shit is real anymore! Well..At least she's happy!.
They could not make phonecalls. Flight 93 landed at Westover. There they made the calls as were instructed… go figure.
@@Man-in-the-green Wrong. I used a phone attached to the seat back in front of me on a Delta Airlines flight from Philadelphia to Dallas in 1993.
A very sweet lady.
She’s so sweet. Her voice reminds me of Sandra Lee.
I WATCH THE INTERVIEW ABOUT MARK ALICE AND HE KISS ME IN MY HEAD.
IM SORRY YOU LOST HIM. AND TOM BURNETT JR WAS MY COUSIN AND INE DAY I WAS A BIT EMOTIONAL ON THE LIGHTRAIL TRAIN 🚉 AND HIS DAUGHTER WHO WAS ADOPTED AND SHE SAW ME ON THE TRAIN 🚉 AND SHE AT THE 20 YRS OLD SAW
R.i.p.
We'll never know exactly what took place on that flight until it was blown to pieces by a military fighter jet,R.I.P. to all who lost their lives
Mark Bingham was about as real as Alice Hoagland/Hoglan ie not very.
There's something very off about this lady
First of all, she was perfectly fine in this interview. Secondly, she was talking about her murdered son. I'm sure it was tough gor her to talk about. That being said, she was amazing!
@brianadams3403 She was a paid crisis actor. You really think anyone would call their mom and introduce them self with their first and last name? Let alone their first name?
@@brianadamsDCmy opinion too
Why does she look over joyed at times through the interview. Seems absolutely tickled to his death.
No I see a nervous mom who has survived by most likely being on meds for the rest of her life. Her and her son were very close.
Exactly
She look over joyed because she knows she gave birth to a hero who saved so many life. Every one will be proud to have son like him.
OMG...🤔I Can't Believe the Amount of STUPIDITY I'm Reading!
People react differently when facing trauma
In Hand God
Crisis actor
Alice is a liar.
She isn't your mother
crap
You?
Nice lady
