Hi Adam, I'm also a huge Vantage fan: saves a lot of time when you don't have to convert materials and lights to accommodate other realtime render engines like Lumion/Twinmotion/Unreal. Some features could be refined like camera movement: setting up a rotating camera in Vantage is a nightmare...camera often do weird spinning movements...🤔 Another thing on my wishlist is pre-animated objects like people, cars, water and trees/plants. I know this is difficult to achieve as this is not a gaming engine, but if moving objects could be introduced, it will have the same features as the competition, just at Vray quality!👌 And lastly displacement, decals, dirtmaps and some other regularly used vray material features are not yet supported - always looking forward to new Vantage updates coming out👍👌
Yes to all of this! I too understand it is not a full game engine, but with some improvements it could really strike just the right balance. Thanks for the feedback!
I really think that right now the best way to work with Vantage is to use the Live-Link feature. That way Vantage would be like the V-ray IPR. That solve the camera setting issues. Now that would also introduce a problem, Max and Vantage will have to share the Vram but that too can be fix.
i was amazed that you see that vantage is more beneficial or accurate than the UE5 so that take me to search more about it and if you make videos about Vantage would be more beautiful, I bought your course in Udemy for UE5 👌🏼
It is not always more beneficial, but for this particular task it was. UE5 has its own strengths that would go far beyond Vantage in many, many ways. Thanks for watching.
We really want to use Vantage, but the client feedback workflow requires that we keep everything up to date in 3ds max.. and there are so many things that don't translate from 3ds max that it has to be readjusted ever time. I can't quite make this work in a typical production environment workflow. Great video. Thanks
Hey Adam Z. To animate the Lights. You will have to pre animate the scene or Lights in 3ds Max or whichever your software is. Export as Vray scene and then open in Vantage. Your animation will open up automatically
I have actually messed with this workflow, but have only been able to animate the movement of lights and not the intensity. Do you know of some way to do that? I wish you could keyframe it right inside of Vantage. That would be slick.
@@Learn-archViz Yes you can just key frame the Light Changes in your 3ds max or software and export as Vray scene. Then set your animation duration accordingly. It worked for me. But you have to animate lights intensity and colour in 3ds max
Awesome tut...been using Vantage as my main workflow since deadlines are fast, and I'm working of a laptop with an egpu. Just wish the render times were faster. Comparable to Enscape times.
Yeah, budgets and turnaround times are huge factor for me. I do think the quality has way more potential than your average Enscape rendering, but there is always a trade off for quality vs time.
Hey everyone, I was wonder what is best for interior camera shots. Should I mess with the EV setting or keep it auto? Then just mess with the iso numbers? Or a little of both?
Have you tried animating materials? Like on Monitors to show a video? I'm not having luck with Image Sequence Materials (in 3ds max) Any updates on those more advanced materials would be great.
hi, love the vantage engine. i want to sak you about the environment, when i create all the hdri, and lighting ini vray 3dsmax, and export to vantage. the lighting and hdri dont match with vray. can you tell me why it doesnt copy paste the setting from vray to vantage? thankyou
I am unable to render a sequence. It simply is disabled whenever i press the high quality render button (CTRL + R) There are two options: still image and sequence, but for me sequence is disabled. I am pretty sure that i am doing something really silly over here and thats why it is disabled. But i cant figure it out, do you have any idea what i should do to fix this? I don't have any animated camera. Its just a static camera and i animated some objects parrented to a null object in 3ds max. I would like to render this static camera but with the animated objects rotating. Hope this makes some sense :)
I always follow you and thank you for your tutorials. I see that in this animation there is a lot of flickering. Is this a limit of vantage or is it because you used few samplings? thank you.
I am not 100% sure. I have noticed some issues when using GPU renderings and having very bright lights with bloom. Some of that can certainly be corrected with more sampling.
Hi Adam, I've been following you for some time because I'm always undecided between Vantage and UE5 (I use Rhino). I saw that in your last video there are Chaos Cosmos assets visible also in UE5. How do you do? I've been trying for a while but I can't. Thank you. Marco
Hi again, I try to be more specific with my problem. I use Rhinoceros, I import a 3D model of Chaos Cosmos into the project. Then I try to import it in UE5, the import of the object works but it doesn't import the materials and any lights. I used Datasmith directly importing the 3dm file or the "Udatasmith" equivalent. I also tried exporting the 3dm file to FBX and then importing it to UE5. The result doesn't change. For me it would be an important step to compare Vantage and UE5, before going deeper with your course.
I have been wondering this a lot. I really don't know. I do know that Chaos has been focusing quite a bit on a Enscape to V-Ray bridge. Maybe they intend on the workflow to be Enscape for preliminary renderings, then bridge to V-Ray/Vantage when you want to create something much more polished? I don't know. My main issue with Enscape has always been the lack of control within the render software, and a total reliance on whatever modeling software you are using to make things look good. This, of course, is good for some things, but not great for really high level finished renderings.

@@amevorf32 I guess that would be the way to animate cameras and lights really well, huh? I should try it that way.
@@amevorf32 i use a link chain between revit, 3dsmax vray & vantage for that extreme time saving.
You can export an animation, including camera, from 3ds max to vantage.
Man Thank you so much , you are so beneficial in teaching Arch Viz. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Hello AdamZ, you are my idol. I have purchased many of your courses. Hopefully in the future you will release an advanced course Chaos Vantage

Nice content bro! ❤

I think u can animate the the light in max and use live link to save animation out via Vantage.
Yeah, that's probably the best way. I wish you could do it direct in Vantage, even on an exported .vrscene. I hope they'll add that eventually.
Hey !! Nice tuto 😁 its possible to use corona render ?

Monitor screen black, because vantage not yet support vray light material with bitmap, lightbox with color only.
PLS COULD YOU HELP OUT WITH TUTORIAL VIDEOS ON HOW TO MAKE CAR TYRES ROLL IN CHAOS VANTAGE. I'LL APPRECIATE IT A GREAT DEAL

Hi Adam. Can I know what your GPU is?
GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
Who knows what we'll end up with from Chaos, will it be more like Vantage or will it be more like Enscape, there's no room for both.
