  • As promised, I finished out my little cabin model using Vantage to create a cinematic animation. Check out the results and process in this video. Stay until the end to see the animation, and a few of my thoughts, and let me know your thoughts in the comments.

    DESCRIPTION
    A few weeks ago I did a speed build project with UE5, and I promised that eventually I would finish out the same model, but using Vantage instead. This video is the Vantage version. I liked a lot things about the Vantage workflow, but I also liked a lot of things better about the UE5 workflow. I will make a full video breaking down the pros and cons of both (coming soon).
    One major thing that stood out here is that because this is a highly nature based scene, I would need a ton of nature assets to really detail it out properly. That is not so much of a Vantage issue, though. Vantage performed very well, and I still love the functionality of real time animation, sort of built right in to my existing workflow. Check out the process and let me know what you think in the comments.

    I loved the way you did the terrain. Have never thought about it. Usually I go with noise in some smoth selected areas. Will try it sculpted.

    Usually I would have said that vantage is way better for Archviz, but I will agree on your point of view this time. For these specific nature Archviz situation, mega scans makes a huge gap if you compare only « out of the box » those two. But in the Archviz workflow we often all have at least one or two nature pack from evermotion.

      Yep, these are all things to consider. I will be discussing all of that in my full comparison video. I mean, a lot of it comes down to what assets you have more than the program itself, but there are other pros and cons too, I think. I like each of them for different scenarios.

      @@Learn-archViz hi adam. thanks for the quick timelapse and other videos too.i have few queries.
      1. which vantage version are u using? i dont see denoiser value settings in my latest vantage 1.8.6.
      also if i turn on the denoiser it gets very blurry. from where does the vantage denoiser takes its value?. if we dont want to use the denoiser do we just raise the samples in render settings of vanage?.its really slow to work on the scene with vray ipr in progress. corona is much faster in that sense. for now i am working with live sync to see results directly in vantage . it kinds of replace the ipr while working on the scene and is much faster.
      can u make a video or maybe a course on how to optimize a scene for chaos vantage like we do for unreal and then the final production settings gor rendrring the animation. for now my main concern is how to control denoiser. thanks. awaiting your response.

    hello
    I would like to know if you know how to make the volumetric lights of a 3ds max scene appear when switching to chaos vantage,
    and in the same way a screen map that has a video as a texture that can be played within the animation, also appears,
    This volumetric video texture and lighting is not appearing when opening chaos vantage
    in my normal 3ds max scene they do appear and it animates, but when I go to vantage they no longer appear
    and they are essential to appear in my animation, I hope you can help me,
    thank you.

    It's a wonderful work!
    When rendering files worked on 3ds max to chaos vantage
    Do I have to redesign all of the material, lighting etc..?
    and How long did the rendering time of this video take?
    I want to make a video that I see from various angles, not from one angle.
    Like this video that you just posted!
    It's very cool.

    Hi, can you make a video going in depth about the render settings and how to get nice and smooth animations without any flickering. Thanks :)

      I think I cover that in some of my other Vantage videos on my channel, but yes, it is something I can talk about more in the future. I think a huge part of it with Vantage is simply turning up the samples. It takes more time, obviously, but gives good results. In this case, Vantage took about 9 hours to render 1500 frames, which is not too bad. The key for real time animation is that you have a very good preview of what the final result will be (except that it is noisy). You can adjust all your lighting, DOF, etc and know exactly what it is going to look like. After the high quality rendering is produced, you get exactly what was expected -- no surprises. There is no other way to go when it comes to animating, IMO.

    You’ve done a great job…I’m yet to switch to unreal Engine due to the lack of animated components in chaos vantage… i hope there are animated components in unreal engine such as trees and grass?

    • @Learn-archViz
      @Learn-archViz  Год назад

      Yes, Unreal does have the ability to animate trees and grass. With Megascans tree assets, it is quite simple to control.

    What do you like better - Chaos Scatter or Forestpack?

    • @Learn-archViz
      @Learn-archViz  Год назад

      Good question. I am very used to forest pack, and this is the first time I have really played around with Chaos Scatter. Frankly, I was able to adopt Chaos Scatter very easily, because the functionality is very similar. So, I think the differences are minimal, but in this case, having presets that can be drag and dropped from Chaos Cosmos (my favorite thing) and work immediately with Chaos Scatter -- that made the difference for me. Of course, Forest Pack has presets too (and probably more) but the integration with Vray is slightly more seamless with Chaos Scatter, since they are both Chaos.
