Excellent evaluation! You really do take to these tests with a passion. And yes! Apple TVs should ALWAYS match content and frame-rates being outputted. If there are software menu-controls which do this in the Apple TV 4K... Please TURN THEM ON everyone! Thank you for making these informative videos!
You are a total hero for posting this. I’m decent at understanding my electronics but you totally fixed my issue with HD content looking awful on my 4K Apple TV. Thanks so much!
I'm so glad they added this "feature". I have been manually turning on HDR for HDR content because I did not like they way SDR content looked in "simulated HDR".
I totally agree with the gentleman and I must add that you explained it very well and I appreciate your knowledge about the difference because I have a 4K Apple TV for my Samsung 55 inch 4K HDR as I said thank you very much and I appreciate you putting your knowledge to help others keep up the great work!!!!!!
hello! congratulations I love your channel. I have downloaded the beta and the apple tv has given me a problem, the earc stopped working the homepod no longer emit sound that is not properly that of the apple tv, before downloading the beta it worked perfectly with ps5 and xbox series
Hi Vincent - I am truly grateful for your videos. I have a Sony TV with Apple TV+ app installed, and I cannot get the picture to work - is there a way to adjust these settings with just the app installed and not the Apple TV box?
Can you do a video explaining why i should get my tv calibrated, what are the benefits and whats wrong with watching a tv picture straight out of the box for us not in the know about these things, maybe it would even bring in more business for you! Tnx
Best explanation so far! Thank you so much for making this HDR comparison. I’ve been going back and forth through the settings for days, until I ended up setting the Apple TV to 1080p SDR with YCbCr and Match Content Range. This results in the least amount of mode shifting and still allowing to show proper HDR when the source is actually HDR.
Hi Vincent! I love your videos but you showed that you fixed the apple tv 4k player to show you the playback info...If you can please tell me how you do that!!!
Great review! I appreciate how you provide the detail specs for each but still focus on real world viewing results. My question for you, I have a 2016 OLED B6. When watching movies in Dolby Vision, which of the following do you recommend: A) Allow the aTV to automatically switch to “Match Content”; B) Manually set to Dolby Vision to 24 hz for the movie; C) Manually set to Dolby Vision 30hz for the movie; or D) Something rose I have missed? Thanks.
I have the latest model 4K HDR but when I go into the format section I don't get a 4K option to choose the SDR. Thoughts? It is not hooked up to a 4K TV. Could that cause this? I did do the update.
Sir, this is should be teached as a great example of informative video at youtubers school. Pour all the info over, pure bliss for all 23.26 minutes. Thanks a lot.
I have an LG C8 TV. Should I use match frame rate or will my TV automatically adjust to the required frame rate if set to off? (Asking because I want to avoid having the black screen before watching trailers and movies in itunes)
Good information. Thank you. re: "People may be too lazy to go into the settings to change them" I know you mean well. The problem is when people (like myself) go into Settings either just trying to figure out how to solve a problem, or based on instructions from the internet. Often I cannot find the settings that would fix the issue, or carefully following instructions the company has moved things around. (I hate contextual menus. It's like going to the drawer for a screwdriver, but your kitchen knows you're cooking dinner, so it won't let you see your hand tools). (The reason I bought the Apple TV4k box is I couldn't make my girlfriend's new Dell computer (Windows 10) to play movies through her browser. This menu kept popping up for no reason. Searching for a solution I found many videos and instructions, for Windows 10, none of which matched anything I found.) Why would there even be a default setting to NOT match dynamic range or frame rate? I've never seen these settings before. Why wouldn't someone want their TV to display correct color and not-jittery images? It's like they're selling shoes without laces and then not asking you if you'd like to buy laces for your shoes. Why would anyone let you leave the shoe store without laces? That's what Apple TV 4K is doing. (Your video is the guy standing by the door waiting for someone who says, "Hey did you get shoelaces?) I delayed for months buying an A-TV 4K box. MacRumors said it was over 1000 days since an upgrade. I couldn't figure out what they would do better. Almost immediately. The control is a headache, the box outputs 60hz.
I’m confused about these settings because on my AppleTV4K the “match frame rate” setting seems to introduce a motion smoothing/frame interpolation effect. It feels like the switch is set backward.
Hello Vincent. Are you still using the Apple TV 4K? Was curious if you noticed the issues with lower overall HDR/DV brightness and even more elevated black levels with DV, compared to VUDU. The best worst example is King Arthur: Legend of the sword, it looks so bad on the Apple, blacks are light grey and the image is washed out. It seems that after I posted about this on some forums, people started noticing this too. Cheers.
I just bought it and that’s the first thing I notice. All movies and apps like Netflix in general looks better on my PlayStation 4 pro. Do you know if there is any fix or setting that I can change to make it look better?
This was VERY helpful. I have Apple TV 4k on all my TV's (working great in HDR); but the 2014 Samsung 78" (curved) with One Connect has become unwatchable due to video lagging audio by 10 seconds.. works great then changes to sync problem in a few seconds... SO Best Buy says the 9000 series should have been recalled (wants to sell me a new set); and Samsung also says get a new set OR buy a new (discontinued) One Connect box. i spent time sorting this out and was about to buy another pricey TV today. Guess what? Changed to BOTH SDR output at 60 hz and I presume leave the 4k upconverting to the One Connect Samsung box; and it all works perfectly. I also agree with no noticeable picture degradation; and I haven't tried 'true 4k' sourcing yet. Anyway no need for a new TV I guess AND the question now is whether these suggested settings will be proper for 'actual' 4k sources such a movies on the new Apple TV+. Thanks so much!
Hello, i need help with adjustments, just got myself an LG oled 55” b8 model and appleTV 4k. Issue is if i watch a content, screen flickers from time to time and sound coming out of the video, will mute for a second, feels like a disconnection of stream or something. This usually happens when my appleTV is set to 4k DV or 4k HDR, when i downgrade to say 1080p DV or 1080p hdr, all is fine. Can you explain what is the issue? Im running 12.3 tv os and there is no match content options available. Please help
Vincent, I know this can be subjective, but please help me. I recently upgraded my Apple TV 4th gen to 4K version, on the same 1080p TV, same setup, same movie (TV show) I noticed different, more vibrant and sharper picture with ATV 4k. Why is that? is that because of some sort of software upscaling or better processing that 4k has, or I am just subjectively see better picture because there is a new toy in the room?
Hi, 1st time viewer, great video, not much I can say, everyone else has said it perfectly, well my question is, I have 2 projectors and 1 apple box, I want to split the image so I can enlarge my picture, I wanted to dedicate 1 projector to half the screen without using a screen splitter, now in the settings on the projector, sorry you need a model number, Sony vpl-fhz55, there is a setting called image split, when in standby with lamp on the display Sony logo is cut in half, but when I add the Apple TV it give me a full image, I can’t seem to get them to dedicate half and half but for some reason the projectors are supposed to do it. Need help and you seem like the guy to solve my dilemma 👍
Can anybody tell me what are the pros and why should I own a tv streaming box when my 4K HDR Tv already has some of the apps to watch tv ? I’m considering to buy one of this boxes, but what will be the difference to own one or just watching tv on my smart tv. Thanks.
Im confused with the settings for dolby vision. My tv is capable and receiver. Do i leave this on always in the settings? Or do i leave 4k hdr always on? or do i leave 4k sdr always on? Do i have to always turn these on if im watching something with that and without it i turn them off? I did turn on match frame rate. thanks
Question. Can the box be set with this update to 4K only and then when content is played it changes itself to HDR10/DV 24Frame etc. Or does the box default still to highest possible and then shift down when content is played?
It does give you the option to switch, however if the original movie is in Dolby Vision and your TV only supports HDR10, the Apple TV converts the Dolby VIsion to HDR10, and doesn't do a good job. In that case, it would be better to watch the 4K Bluray or use Vudu to get the proper HDR10 image. The Apple TV 4K only does HDR10 fine if the content is HDR10 only. If you have a Dolby VIsion TV, both Dolby Vision and HDR10 will look as intended.
Thanks for the great video! Is it safe for the TV to turn on the backlight and the contrast in the HDR mode 100%? Could you give advice how to configure HDR on the panasonic TV 65dxr900? What settings do I put in the TV for playing games on ps4pro? Thank you!
I have a Sony 4K tv with no Dolby vision ,I wanted to check if I buy Apple TV 4K and then purchase Dolby vision movies what impact the above settings will have on the viewing experience
You need to watch on Vudu or 4K Bluray to get proper HDR10 output. On DV movies, the Apple TV converts the DV down poorly to HDR10 displays, unless the content itself is only HDR10, not DV.
Hi can you do this for the Samsung s95b I noticed you have dolby vision now on Netflix but not disney or amazon prime or apple tv I have it on 4k SDR chroma 4.4.4 I appreciate your help and also best picture settings for the 65inch S95b 😊
Hi Vincent, we have been enjoying our Xiaomi Laser projector with your suggested settings. Looking to upgrade to a more robust 4K Laser projector that would be competent at Dolby Vision and Atmos. I got my eyes on the lates LG Laser Projector release and the Optoma latest release. Please advise if any of these options would fit the bill. PS. I am going to be using an Apple TV 4K as my main hub. Cheers!
Could you do a similar video to compare 1080p SDR to 4K HDR? A lot of us have yet to make the jump to a 4K HDR TV and wonder whether the upgrade is a significant enough difference to justify an upgrade and what difference it really makes to movies (rather than the unrealistic store demo clips). Love your videos, keep up the great work! 👌🏻
I have a 4K HDR TV, and it is totally worth it. I know first-hand. You see more colors and the image is more clear and detailed. You can also sit closer to the screen and the iimage stays sharp. I'd recommend the Vizio P-series or LG OLED for 4K and full HDR.
As of November 2019, most 4K television sets match your content to HDR or SDR automatically, no need to mess with your Apple TV box match content settings. I left mine untouched, just 4K HDR full, match content off, and I enjoy SDR and HDR without any issues. My Samsung TV is a 2019 model though, and it dose the matching automatically, no matter what you throw at it, either from 4K UHD Blu-ray or the Apple TV box.
Many other AV RUclipsrs also state to put to put the both mentioned match settings to ON, but they say to put the other setting to 4K SDR, not 4K HDR. Now I am confused, as you are the only one stating 4K HDR.
I was waiting for your video about this update! with this update the Apple TV 4K is truly an awesome deal if you want to just rent the movies you know you will just watch once and buy your favorites on disc, at least my plan is to combine this box with my setup. And this thing can still improve with updates, A10X is a powerful chip so there is still room to improve. Unusual from Apple but this thing is well priced and really capable. By the way, showing the Sony logo on the Samsung TV was nice touch Vincent :D Congrats for the over 30k subs!
I totally agree to turn on the new settings in the AppleTV 4K. I am currently using the AppleTV 4K on a Philips 47" Full HD screen and the quality of Streaming was in comparison to my old AppleTV 3 totally crap! I was so disappointed at the beginning. After trying every setup, I found finally this Setting and after turn everything on, I am very content with the streaming.
this an awesome breakdown! I would really like to see your opinion on bias lighting, and show some bias lighting setups. I have been wondering if a Hue Go will work well, because I’m hoping not to glue a light strip to my new oled
I have the latest beta 12 (16J5340e) and even with the match dynamic and frame rate settings on, when I start a 1080P movie, my sony tv is at 4K resolution... It only changes if I put the resolution to 1080P in video and audio settings. Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you for providing this excellent video tutorial... you know, you remind me of my Doctor (he is also Chinese) and I trust him implicitly so please take that as a compliment... I live in the UK and have just taken delivery of ATV 4K and updated to tvOS 12.3 (16M153) and viewing it on a Samsung 55" UHD TV (QE55Q8CAM). I have changed the 'Match Content' settings to those recommended in this video and would like your help with choosing the Format and Chroma.
Hi Vincent, have you noticed any lip sync issues when watching movies at 24hz ? It's not massive but is noticeable. I've tried the Apple TV connected straight to the TV, using a sound bar and also via hdmi through a home cinema receiver. No extra processing is being used by the TV. If I set the Apple TV to 60 hz it's perfect but obviously introduces slight artefacts with motion, especially panning. The original blade runner is a good example, Deckard and Bryant discussing the replicants in the smokey dark room. Thinks it's between 10 and 14 minutes into the film. As mentioned, playback at 60hz is perfect, also playback on iPad Air 2 and iPhone 7 perfect. Thanks
I'm really enjoying your reviews and tests - great stuff. At 16:42 in this video, you have turned on an onscreen diagnostics of the settings in the 4K Apple TV box. Is this a feature you can turn on in the Apple TV box?
I dont usually leave comments but this is one of the best/most informative review I've watched on aTV. I just sub'd and you deserve way more subs! my 2c: 1) sit further back when recording yourself on camera, cuz when 1/2 of the screen is you it feels a bit weird 2) dont lean forward 3) since theres a TV in the background, try to record from a position where that tv is facing the camera (not from an angle ) thanks again for the review, keep up teh good work
I prefer 4K SDR with match content on and have chroma 4:4:4.. tested and it plays sdr and hdr content perfectly coz it identifies the signal from the source
my Apple TV 4K is hooked up to my 65 inch LG OLED 2016 model using an 18 Gbps HDMI cable. I have tried both HDR 10 at 60Hz and Dolby Vision at 30Hz playing Dolby Vision movies off iTunes. Will I see a significant video improvement if I stream using Ethernet instead of WiFi AC?
Always use ethernet to use every bit of your speed. Now about you playing Dolby Vision off iTunes? Currently as of (5-DEC-17) no Apple product supports Dolby Vision including the Apple TV 4K...yet....we are all waiting for that update. If you want DV experience use VUDU on your LG OLED. Trust me you do see difference between HDR10 vs DV.
I just updated to the latest tvOS 11.2 and switched dynamic range and frame rate to match content. The video quality is absolutely jaw dropping. One other thing, I finally tried 3D on my LG OLED for the first time in nearly a year. RUclips actually has videos in 3D! Which I never knew.
Hello . I'm using Apple TV 4k with BenQ projector W2700/HT3550 (HDR10) and Yamaha av Rx V585 (Dolby vision) and set the setting as you recommended. When i use Netflix n play a Dolby vision content my projector auto shifts to HDR10 mode and i get 4k dolby vision . But when i play jack Ryan on prime video ( it is in HDR ULTRA HD format) my projector doesn't shift to HDR10 mode. As i enable HDR n turn off match dynamic range in Apple TV setting n play Ryan again my projector shifts to HDR10 mode. Is there anything i can do where it can auto shifts to HDR 10 as in Netflix ? Or Jack Ryan is only in 4k dolby Atmos format on Apple TV 4k ?
Makes sense, so as default do you leave the apple tv 4k on Dolby vision and then put match frame/range or have the apple tv 4k set to 4k sdr 60f? And the Dolby vision for this aptv4k still have so many bugs it's restarts randomly when watching Dolby vision content. My setup is LG B7a oled with echogear 2.1 hdmi apple tv 4k 250mbs internet speed.
hello Vincent, Just to clarify : I have a Samsung Q7 Curved 65'' and i just bought an apple TV 4k HDR. If i put under the settings of Apple TV 4K HDR 60hz and he Match content both on the colors are pale !! In the contrary if i put the setting in 4K SDR 60HZ the colors are the same as the background. So what do you suggest ?
I compared the HDR output of the Apple TV via the output of the UB900 an X800. I seems that the ATV puts out HDR levels to low. I tested this with an HDR contrast ramp. 1000 nits seem to be darker with the ATV as compared to the BD-Players. How can this be? The ATV seems to have a much worse differentiation on the HDR ramp between 500 and 1000 nits. How can this be?
Great detailed comparo Vincent.. The background music (bass lines) sounds familiar. What is it? BTW, what is the minimim internet speed you’d recommend with ATV 4k especially when viewing HDR or DV material? 50 mbps ethernet direct okay?
Rick G He did a comparison between Apple 4k and 4k Blu-Rays(Apple was equally as good) and found that movies running in 4K HDR or Dolby Vision ran around 15-20 MBPS. Apple recommends 25. 50 MBPS is more than enough.
I've had an HDR10 compatible TV since the end of 2016, and various devices such as a Roku Ultra / Premiere+, a UBPX800 Sony UHD player, and the 4k Apple TV. I absolutely agree that HDR makes a difference when done right. I can't speak for Dolby vision yet, as I don't have a compatible display. When I bought my TV it wasn't so much about which HDR format rather then being HDCP 2.2 compliant, and supporting HDR. Plus, at the time HDR10 had more content. What I wanted to bring to the table from my experience was Some HDR content can look really washed out, even with the correct settings compared to SDR on the correct settings. What I do want to stress though, in my case, most of the content I care about is HD, or SD. I only have a small library of HDR content in comparison. By the time I'm ready to look for a new TV again, I think content and which formats to look for will be in a much more reliable condition then when I did Plus, I'm waiting for more of my older content to be remastered. I don't want my HDR experience to strictly be new releases only, but also be able to convert some of my older stuff too (if that happens.) Great video.
I have 2015 lg 4k tv with ultra HD deep Color in pictures option. When I activate 4k hdr in Apple TV, Color are a fade in the Apple menus but the movie seem fine is it possible ?
I have dynamic range and frame rate match turned “on.” What should I set the resolution to HDR Vision 30hz or HDR 60hz?? I have a LG B6. Thanks in advance.
I just purchased a new tv LG Oled B7 and I like to know if I should go for the new AppleTV for 4k content, so far I've been using the embedded Netflix application but sometimes the content looks better when I use the Netflix application on my old AppleTV, so what are your suggestions?
That's what I am wondering about too. Why use an Apple 4K TV box if the apps are already available within the tv itself. I cannot find anything on the internet with regard to comparing this box to the embedded app. Would be nice to see a test.
I would suggest that you do buy the Apple TV if only to purchase 4k UHD Blu-ray from the iTunes Store at a much, much cheaper price than Amazon etc. The only downside that I can see is that you have you media stored in Apple's cloud permanently and don't get to download it to your own storage devices.
Why does the aspect ratio, or stretching algorithm appear different between direct SDR and HDR-converted SDR? The screen on my left appears to be off somehow.
Activated both settings. The only downside though, is that now when you select a movie, you get a few seconds of black screen when it enters playback mode, the same when you stop watching and get back to the home menu. It's because the Apple TV is adjusting framerate / dynamic range to the source.
Ok, I’ve noticed a problematic issue involving targeting a perfect hdr picture. When I use the match settings and try to play a remux file from an uhd bluray the colors aren’t right. It’s because the ATV is outputting 12 bit colors somehow. It’s fixed when I reset the video settings on the ATV and only turn on match dynamic range (leave match frame rate off). Don’t touch the chroma settings otherwise the picture would be wrong again. I’m taking about wrong colors and sort of noise in certain areas on the screen. Those disappear when you take the steps above. I’m using an Oled B6 from LG and a Marantz 7011 in between. Content is being played from the latest Infuse Pro app with the HDR fix. Weird things going on in the ATV video settings. Can people confirm this? I would like to know if it’s my gear or the ATV.
Hey Vincent love your channel. Say can you give a more recent update on the Apple TV 4K settings...this video is 3 years old. Thanks
When I switched on the match content. Everything has been fixed. This is the most important Apple TV video. Thank you
Excellent evaluation! You really do take to these tests with a passion. And yes! Apple TVs should ALWAYS match content and frame-rates being outputted. I was just about to return my Apple TV because of the fixed Dolby Vision output. Now I don’t have to. Great video. Thanks!

Nothing like spending thousands on a new 4k tv and your old tv looks better. With your help this problem has been sorted. Thank You!!!!!!!!
Hi, have you had the opportunity to compare Fire TV 4K with Appla TV 4K and see if there is any difference in image quality?
hello! congratulations I love your channel. I have downloaded the beta and the apple tv has given me a problem, the earc stopped working the homepod no longer emit sound that is not properly that of the apple tv, before downloading the beta it worked perfectly with ps5 and xbox series

These settings are only available on Apple TV hardware, not the app.
Vincent you are a RUclips treasure. Thanks for your constant content!
Can you do a video explaining why i should get my tv calibrated, what are the benefits and whats wrong with watching a tv picture straight out of the box for us not in the know about these things, maybe it would even bring in more business for you! Tnx
Should those two settings be turned on or off if Apple tv4k is connected to an 50Hz HD SDR Tv ?
I have almost no idea what you’re talking about but loved it. Liked and subscribed. 👍👍
You have a beautiful voice, mate! Great video!
Why is it that I can play 4k HDR trough my Plex app on my LG77G3 but not on my Apple TV 4K? (settings are as advised in your video)
Vincent, I have a 1080p LCD TV and I want to know what option I have to set on the HDMI settings, YCbCr, High RGB or Low RGB?
Regards from Brazil!
Please make a Part-2, adjusting HDMI output (YCbCr 4:4:4, 4:2:0 and RGB High vs RGB low alternatives
I just bought an Apple 4K TV and Samsung 4K 75 inch TV, Thank you for your guidance
Best explanation so far! Thank you so much for making this HDR comparison.

This results in the least amount of mode shifting and still allowing to show proper HDR when the source is actually HDR.
Hi there. Question. Which Hz do you have the 1080p SDR setting at?
Is this still true in 2021? I'd expect improvements from the original beta release to a stable version almost 4 years later
Hi Vincent! I love your videos but you showed that you fixed the apple tv 4k player to show you the playback info...If you can please tell me how you do that!!!
Can you talk about which chroma setting to use? This was a great video but Waaay to long. We got it in the first 30 sec.
Good job explaining - haven’t learnt that much about picture quality in a single video on HDR before.
so what do i do about the washed out color when i switch to 4K HDR 60Hz?
Great review! I appreciate how you provide the detail specs for each but still focus on real world viewing results. My question for you, I have a 2016 OLED B6. When watching movies in Dolby Vision, which of the following do you recommend: A) Allow the aTV to automatically switch to “Match Content”; B) Manually set to Dolby Vision to 24 hz for the movie; C) Manually set to Dolby Vision 30hz for the movie; or D) Something rose I have missed? Does Apple 4k TV support 10-bit output?
I have the latest model 4K HDR but when I go into the format section I don't get a 4K option to choose the SDR. Thoughts? It is not hooked up to a 4K TV. Could that cause this? I did do the update.
WOW Just turned this on and MAN. Looks Awesome now :). You are The Man..
Hey Vincent, any recommendation for which chroma setting (4:2:0 or 4:2:2) to use on the Apple TV 4k? Lots of conflicting information out there...
Gab A Stupid comment....
Gab A I bet you don’t have apple tv 4k. Cant afford? 😏😏😏
Always choose the highest number.
Sir, this is should be teached as a great example of informative video at youtubers school. Pour all the info over, pure bliss for all 23.26 minutes. Thanks a lot.
I have an OLED Tv with my Apple TV 4K why can’t we just set it to one setting and call it a day? I’ll be watching Direct tv now mostly on it.
All you have to do is set match hdr and match framerate and you're good to go. Don't need to change any settings after that.
I have an LG C8 TV. Should I use match frame rate or will my TV automatically adjust to the required frame rate if set to off? (Asking because I want to avoid having the black screen before watching trailers and movies in itunes)

Should I turn off auto motion plus when watching sports? Would love for you to do a test on this. Thank you.
love your emphasis on detail in this video. great work!
Thanks.
Hey guys ... does the Apple 4K TV support HDR10 + ? Thank you
No
Thanks for this ! Very helpful
Thank you!
The backlight can be at 100 for HDR, but not SDR
First rate as always young man !!!
Cheers!
Vincent, should I set my Apple TV 4K box to Dolby Vision 50Hz or Dolby Vision 60Hz? I'm in the UK. Cheers!
Europe should be on 50hz
Now I am confused, as you are the only one stating 4K HDR.
can you do a demo with nvidia shield tv also?
Roll on black friday! I want me a Apple 4k box!
Good information and good design on Apple's part to detect this automatically..
Can you please do this also for Shield TV
I just sub'd and you deserve way more subs! my 2c:
1) sit further back when recording yourself on camera, cuz when 1/2 of the screen is you it feels a bit weird
2) dont lean forward
3) since theres a TV in the background, try to record from a position where that tv is facing the camera (not from an angle )
thanks again for the review, keep up teh good work
I'm so glad you don't use background music anymore this is agony
I have a Sony Bravia 43 X800D and looking for the best setting, do you have any tips ?
So keep the format to 4k Dolby Vision if TV supports it? Bit confused
No, select the "Match" settings
I prefer 4K SDR with match content on and have chroma 4:4:4.. tested and it plays sdr and hdr content perfectly coz it identifies the signal from the source
Hi Vincent! I love your videos ...very informative but I have an apple tv 4k player but don't know how to show the playback info
I will keep that in mind when I purchase my next TV.
my Apple TV 4K is hooked up to my 65 inch LG OLED 2016 model using an 18 Gbps HDMI cable.
He said, "you fuckers are too damn lazy..." LMAO!
Hello, i have Apple tv on my LGc1.
Not interest to pay to have an Apple tv box.
Thanks for the pro tip!
My setup is LG B7a oled with echogear 2.1 hdmi apple tv 4k
250mbs internet speed.
Thanks for great info! Is there anyway to remove the letter box from AppleTV? My TV is small, so I really wish to remove all black bars. Thanks.
just double tap (not click) the remote
excellent presentation Sir!
hello Vincent,
Just to clarify :
I have a Samsung Q7 Curved 65'' and i just bought an apple TV 4k HDR. If i put under the settings of Apple TV 4K HDR 60hz and he Match content both on the colors are pale !! In the contrary if i put the setting in 4K SDR 60HZ the colors are the same as the background.
So what do you suggest ?
themistoklis vrailas what the hell do you mean?
Great video full of great info as usual!
Rick G
He did a comparison between Apple 4k and 4k Blu-Rays(Apple was equally as good) and found that movies running in 4K HDR or Dolby Vision ran around 15-20 MBPS. Apple recommends 25.
50 MBPS is more than enough.
conservativesaiyan Thanks man.. Yeah, saw that informative vid. I forgot that he mentioned the bitrates involved. Thanks again!
Please make a video for Nvidia Shield Android TV settings!
Hi I would like to ask can the Apple TV 4K download IPTV
What about resolution? Can you set it so it is source direct? I can’t find how to set it so it outputs 1080 without upscaling to 4k
How do you display the developer/image info menu on Apple TV 4K?
I have dynamic range and frame rate match turned “on.”
What should I set the resolution to HDR Vision 30hz or HDR 60hz??
I have a LG B6.
Thanks in advance.
This will depend on what your TV can natively display.
So when watching SDR content on Apple TV do I have to change the TV Picture Mode from my HDR setting to Cinema or Standard ( not an LG )
Hi, I am thinking of getting the apple 4k tv box for streaming 4k movies however, are they that much better quality on 4k HDR blu ray disc? Thanks
No the 4K Bluray has the best quality, but the Apple TV streaming is verfy close to it.
Blu Ray 4 k is much better plus the fact you get guaranteed Dolby atmos. ATV is hit and miss ref atmos
I’ve got a lot of problems with my remote of my Apple tv 4K. Do you experience this as well?
Darthbane me too! Disconnects and a lot of lag!
J.R.R. Tolkien yes me too. What could be a solution?
Its bluetooth. Try connecting it via LAN or increase the distance to a router
same and the biggest issue i have is the remote becomes disabled EVERYTIME i try and watch e.t. 4k in itunes. it's the weirdest thing ever.
One of the old style Apple remotes works with Apple TV (or at least mine did).
