      @@BederikStorm after the third one I think there will be issues with trying to do it again with snipes; Disney isn't big on taking risks with actors who can be difficult to work with (which was a massive issue in the third blade movie). Snipes is certainly not completely to blame for the third movie being almost unwatchable though. the production was fraught with problems.

      Have you seen the trailer? It actually looks good. Unlike all the sequels that followed the original.
      People are just hating on it because of their doughy eyed memory of the first one.
      So the question is; it it a bad movie? Or has everyone made up their minds that it's going to be bad and watch it with that negative attitude?

    • @voradorhylden3410
      @voradorhylden3410 Месяц назад +11

      @boondockstallyns1479 i hear what your saying. I do. However on the onther hand, there are a few movies that are (for lack of a better word) sacred. Labyrinth is one of them. I wont even watch it. Freddy is another. Boycotted that movie as well. I dont mind remakes that are good. But at the same time a movie like the crow, was done perfect the first time. So no need for a remake. Ild be ok if it was another different story (a different crow story with different people) but again they tried that and it was horrible. You do a remake to make it better. Whether that is a plot change, fx that were not available back then or a more true to the book version (if its based on other material like comics, books, or show). But again with these "sacred" movies they are such a big part of alot of peoples childhood/ lives. So a remake (alot of times) is like a slap in the face.
      Xmen for example is entertaining, but as an xmen fan, those movies were horrible. The 90s shows was storyboarded and dialoged they literally just had to film with real people. They couldve had 30 movies (since they are all about a franchise). When you remake a movie your messing with peoples memories and childhood. Of course its going to piss people off. You cant please everyone but they really need to ask the fans. Marvel would of been 10 times more badass if it were made for the adults that made it a franchise in the first place. With out us, the franchise wouldnt exist, nor would the characters.

    Borderlands itself should have been directed by George Miller since the game is heavily inspired by the Mad Max franchise. It should also have been made in the style of A Scanner Darkly movie. Also have the director play the game to cast the characters properly. Like getting Idris Elba who would be a at minimum the closest to being the best choice as Roland. Roland did joke around but he was a soldier 1st and was never that small, plus he was built with muscle like a soldier should be.

    With Borderlands, people also question some of the casting decisions. Cate Blanchet looks her age and Kevin Hart really doesn't give "badass soldier" vibes. So while the actors aren't bad, they just feel miscast for Lillith and Roland. The same goes for Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis.
    Personally I also question the choice of including Tiny Tina and Krieg, both seem to be characters that would be hard to pull off, without them either being unnecessary or plain annoying. I mean Gearbox didn't manage to recapture what people liked about Tina in Borderlands 3.

    Borderlands - This one was doomed from the beginning, I think.
    1 - Video game movie; these are notorious for getting poor reception, and even the best ones tend to be just 'fun to watch, not great adaptation'. There are exceptions of course, but it's rare.
    2 - Cast; when the cast was announced it was just....Did the writer(s) and casting crew ever play the games? Jack Black is maybe an OK fit for Claptrap (but getting an actual Claptrap VA would have been better). Curtis as an older Tannis might have worked IMO, but I was underwhelmed by the trailer in that regard.
    3 - The production seemed a total mess. Some can be blamed on Covid of course, but regardless it hasn't looked good, especially going through all those writers.
    4 - The trailer did nothing to impress me. Some people might think it looks alright apparently, but it just didn't look great IMO. It feels pretty soulless.
