"Mouse Cursor is gone, I can't play the game anymore," - DSP No, that was just you throwing a child temper tantrum cause you can't beat the level. We heard seconds ago, you picking up the Mouse and smacking it repeatedly in rage, of course the mouse pointer isnt going to be there.
I've never played this game, but just from watching, It's clear that enemies react in a split second. Phil even comments on this, so why in the fuck does he continue to just casually walk through doors with no sense of urgency in shooting people. He reacts so slow and then goes "Whaaaaaaaaaat?!" when they blow his head off.
It's mostly because this gentleman has the reaction time of a lobotomy patient. The enemies tend to react in half a second (Possibly less, though that's my gut feeling from playing the game) and Phil's brain seems to take around a full second to even warm up, so those two things combined are a recipe for disaster. Doesn't help that his aim is also terrible and he apparently forgot he could even throw weapons. I played half the game forgetting I could lock on to enemies and still did better than him.
DSP's copy of the game is more magic than a harry potter book, how else would the enemies always know he's coming? (you know, besides seeing Jacket or hearing his guns)
Man. I keep thinking I have the full grasp of DSP, but then he complains about how the controls suck in a game that has some of the tightest and most responsive controls I've used, blames the game for all of his failures, dies more times in the exact same fashion to the exact same enemy than I think I've ever seen, and manages to get killed in ways I didn't think were possible. This TIHYDP is fantastic.

Oh, how I have waited for this day. This is painfully funny, being a leaderboard-topping Hotline Miami player. I've done probably thousands of runs, and I can tell you bullets don't pass through goons, people don't return from the dead, and if they aren't dead, you didn't hit 'em. If you haven't played HM, please let me address his complaints. First, enemies and Jacket can both sometimes survive a single bullet. It doesn't pass through them, you can see the blood spurt. Shooting is hard and DSP is inaccurate. Enemies who "return from the dead" were either hit by a door before your attack, or a weapon flying from a killed comrade's hand struck and KO'd them. This is also why enemies will kill DSP and get KO'd; DSP's dropped weapon hit them. There are two clear indicators of this happening. One, any KO will make a distinctive "crump" noise. Fist, throw or door. Two, KO'd enemies look pristine and lay in a distinctive Y position. Dead enemies will have broken limbs, pieces missing and twisted, gore-soaked positions. I understood this intuitively very early on, because it's good game design. And I'm a slow learner, at that. Also, some of DSP"s complaints about failing to pick up weapons are because of recovery. After punching, executing, etc, there's a short action-dependent recovery period before you can pick up a weapon. This lends the game a beautiful puzzle-like complexity in high level play, as you align and balance different timings, punches and weapon executions, against your combo timer.
+Swan Scream Ay man I love Hotline Miami too. I suck at Wrong Number but I was able to A rank all missions up until the police station on my second run of Hotline Miami 1. This was so mind boggling to watch, the fact that he couldn't figure out the difference between a knocked down enemy and a dead enemy hurt me editing this. He never used shooting windows to an advantage even though he bitched about it every 2 seconds. What's worst of all is he did the same thing every time knowing it didn't work, that's the main reason why I put Vaas speech about insanity in the intro. I also hated how he said the game was broken and buggy when I didn't notice any bugs editing this. Jonatan Söderström would probably cringe to DSP. I'm hoping he plays Wrong Number with the larger stages and enemies sniping you off screen Also nice job reaching top in this game dude. My question is what is the best mask to use to A rank Assualt? Or what's the best way? The drill is too hard to use with KO'd enemies.
+Null Ah, thank you! I've never really used the drill, but to my knowledge, the best high score masks are Brandon or Zack, as both help the most with combos. Zack allows a slower pace and stretching timings further, whereas Brandon is probably harder to master but allows some unconventional rush strategies, like what I favour. ^^ Good luck!
+Null Oh, god, it was unreal. I can't believe he has the cheek to complain when he gets C or D ratings on his first playthrough, particularly when he doesn't even understand things like shooting offscreen enemies or corner-baiting.

Hotline Miami is a violent puzzle game and I love it. DSP just sees the violence rather than the puzzle of strategically kill pixel dudes without going all guns a blazing.
Omg him continually not noticing enemies that are down but not out made me sad. I did love watching him standing there with an empty gun while an enemy ran up to him and tonked him in the face with a base ball bat. Phils inspirational cahmentary (what he thinks he is renowned for) was on point. "magic, magic, magic again, more magic" etc etc, if only he had said "magic" a bit more might have been an award in it for him.
The part with the door rigged to blow is some of the most unbelievable shit I've ever seen. Really emblematic of Phil's complete failure to understand how this game works. I can't imagine having so much trouble figuring that out.
