As a Porsche technician working at a dealer, you must remove the upper engine mount + bracket + bolts in order to change the sparkplugs. You don't need to support the engine because that engine mount is only for side to side movement of the engine. It still has 2 engine mounts underneath. Then you unplug a couple connectors and lift the cable tray out of the way. Believe me, there are harder ways to change sparkplugs. As for the sparkplugs, Porsche says no grease what so ever on the treads and use a little bit on the porcelain so that the coil won't get stuck.
I like the color wrap until you lifted the trunk and could still see the white. That’s the negatives with wraps. But it’s pretty quick. Enjoy and happy new year.
What was the improvement in trap speed from the first to second run? Trap speed really tells you power/weight ratio and removes most of the difference in launching the car.
Negative on the anti-seize. It can thermally couple the spark plug to the cylinder head and make them run colder than intended, potentially causing issues with premature fouling.
@@DankoStojanovic adding anti-seize to the threads increases contact between the plug and cylinder head, allowing the plug to transfer heat to the head more effectively. Spark plug manufacturers specifically say not to use any lubricant on the threads for that reason.
Wow that's quite an engine filter. Would hate to change that often $$$. And yes I know, I know, if you have to ask I know that's the price you pay for excellence.
Man, modern day cars don't make it easy to do service on them. Sure let's throw a wiring harness under a motor mount that feeds the ignition coil so we what to make out technicians struggle to do a simple spark plug service. My 2019 GMC Canyon is the same. The intake manifold has to come off to replace the whole river bank of plugs
I've always used a little bit of anti seize on plugs especially in aluminum heads. But every 30k jeez, are those vegan spark plugs? What a short life. They might say don't use anti seize as it changes the torque required but who knows, zee Germans do weird stuff.
I would but it would take too long. Lol. In addition to running a business full time, being a good father and husband, keeping up with house projects and still having a life with friends and family I manage to still put our video content. A video takes time to plan, shoot and edit. A typical long format video will take about 40 to 50 hours of time.
Car looks good. The car on the dealer lot looks better with the side blades in body color. Otherwise they stick out like a sore thumb. Boy that's a stupid design that Porsche has with that high mounted engine bracket. Who was the bonehead that signed off on that design?

Ive always love that Porches, great choice
Hopeful your wife loves it and safe travels 👍
She really likes it! Thanks
And obviously Porsche makes great cars and this car will fit her lifestyle so well.
Killer upgrades Jaime! MO POWA BABY!

What does it mean to thermally couple and why would that cause them to run colder?

Very good observation. I’m just glad you are not superspeederRob.. 🙈.. that guy

If the car is fast enough, it'll change colours by itself
It'd need to be like, 0.00012s 1/4 mile, but hey, necessity is the mother of invention.
Good vids you come out with keep it up
Appreciate it

I don’t put antiseize on, per NGK’s instructions.

115 HP on tune?!!!! Impressive!!
I think it because the engine is not naturally aspirated... the induction force response more on bolts on performance like full exhaust or tuning

Even better: If you decide to unscrew the mount you need new screws, as they are aluminium...

No wonder service work cost so much

And those old plugs didn't look very clean for less than 30k miles. What are they just copper plugs?
Audi recommends every 50k for plugs. I think it’s to help with carbon buildup from being a direct injection engine.
@@ryanturnerboles that would explain why my Toyota recommended interval is 120,000 mi. Port injected only.
I use copper grease on my spark plugs. It's even required for my engine !
