- Thanks to a quick delivery to Broughty Ferry by the distributor, I was able to review an Indri Single Malt Whisky called Trini. My experience with Indian whisky expressions is lacking, so I was pleasantly surprised by this bottle. Watch this video to see if you might like it too. I love ur review. Will try indri soon.
Would you not add just a touch of water to open the bouquet of flavours up ?
Exactly.. India has some of the best whiskey brands.....as usual.. Indians gora mentality.. "Every shit of west nweter than Indias"

Voter as the world's best whiskey 2023🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
No doubt one of the finest single malt whiskeys in the world and rightly received best whisky award. One more jewel in Indian liquor industries crown.
Wow
This just won a major international award. It will survive in the Single Malt market.
India producing few lovely single malt whisky nowadays, like Paul John, Amrut, Indri, Gianchand, Rampur. The best part is unlike some of the great brand, these Indian Single Malts are not adding colours to it and no chill filtration. Slowly good whisky becoming a culture statement in India.
I love that India is building a whisky culture like that. Anytime I can buy an expression without E150a or chill filtration, I'm happy. Thanks for sharing!
@@WhiskyRiffs Thanks for your reply, learn a few things about whisky and about lots lovely expressions though lots of them are not available easily in India. Best wishes, have a great life.
Amrut is the name of alochol.🙄
@@user-vn7vr1oy2jyes 🙂
Paul John is 80% spirit, 20% ratkill, 100% poison. Two-three neat and you'll be high like a real mofo; even beats DSP Black
Guy sitting in scotland drinking an indian whisky... meanwhile indians here going gaga over scotch!! 🤣🤣
Hah! Yeah, the irony of this didn't escape me. Cheers!
It's one of the best ones out there hun
Things are changing
There is a difference and especially for people like me who enjoy the drink.
Most of all the Indian whiskey are not aged, very young and are too pungent. Not my liking.
Things are changing for sure but this is one of the really bad whiskeys I have tasted. Not even close to Amrut Fusion, Paul John Brilliance or Rampur in that order with Amrut Fusion being the better of lot. Indri is very harsh whiskey with too much of brashness to it with long lingering after notes on the throat and palette. This whiskey is like break dance in the ballerina world of whiskies.
Try Amrut or Paul John or Kamet or Rampur if you want to taste high quality Indian whiskies
This is an elegant, informative and kind hearted review sir. Accept my compliments and my thanks.
Thank you so much! Cheers!
Wow. Your voice is very gentle and soothing to the ears. Cheers!
Tried it last night. I quite liked it. Also quite cheap in India compared to other single malts that are available in the market which are mostly imported.

Beautiful review and melodious back ground.
Nice review Kevin. Good stuff. Always pleasure to watch and hear your thoughts when your guitar gently weeps. This indian whisky was big hit last year. I bought it before Christmas and really enjoyed. Such a fantastic easy sipper. Robust aromatic intense flavours. Craft presentation decent price. There is nothing to dislike with this beauty. Young but matured according to himalayan climate. All tropical fruits notes comes from this region but i personaly like. Slàinte 👍😁🥂 . P.S. any plans to make video illustrated your scottish experience? 🙋🏻♂️

I dont drink much but I always go for whiskey when I do. This is a great review video. I wish all products reviews were as detailed as this one.
I was reading a article about best Single malt in the world and I opened the article and found it was none other than this whisky Indri; and it was chosen from around the world whiskies.
At the start, it tastes like lot of spices but this whiskey has got excellent after-taste effect. It remains with you for a long time after sipping it.
I agree completely. It was a special bottle to have sent to me and I wish I could have enjoyed more of it. Cheers!

Wo.. Never expected such a good review .. Thank you.
Hope you will enjoy Indri again with your friend And Post one more video when you both talk on this bottle and your experience with it. Cheers
I say it like I drink it. ;) It was delicious and I'd love to do a follow up with Chris Phin in the future, but the bottle may be empty by the time I get back to Scotland. Cheers!
It is named after a town Indri here in haryana, India and it is produced too in that town.
Excellent blue note riffs accompanied by a beautiful colours and wonderful expressions. Simply poetic
That's incredible kind of you to say! Thank you very much. Cheers!
I am happy that my basic skills got approval when I felt the same, it has a strong spice punch. Ofcourse coming from India, it has to be spice for which Europe wanted to conquer. Happy to see my country is growing in fine art of producing whiskey, malts, even (Gin like Nilgiris)
It's great to see Indian distillers adding one more crown to their list.

Indri is approximately 40kms from my hometown, and I've got to know about this whiskey through your channel based in the US. What a joke!😅 Im gonna grab a bottle straight away..thanks and cheers🥃
Thanks for sharing! I'm glad I could help. Cheers! 🥃
Bought this when I was in India this summer, very good whiskey.
Great tasting notes. It sounded really good. I have not seen this, but I hope i do. Sounded rich, with layers and descent ripe fruits. Cheers!
If you can find it, I'd highly recommend trying the Trini. It's on the young side, but has so many well-balanced flavors. I'm behind on watching your reviews (bandwidth in Cagnes-sur-Mer has been horrid), but if you do acquire this expression please let me know. Thanks, Jon!
@@WhiskyRiffs will do!
@@WhiskyRiffshow do all these fruit scents get into the whisky, unless these fruits like pineapple etc are grown in that region from where the barley is sourced? I am confused!
@@MeenPo786 Do you mean to say pineapples don't grow in India? India is ranked 5th in pineapple production in the world. And it produces about 14 million tonnes of other citrus fruits annually. Barley is also produced locally.
I just tried this whiskey 2 days ago and it’s really nice.

Recently got the best whisky award
Not an alcohol enthusiast, this video just showed up on my feed. I love how the bottle is presented though, its name and the way it's written. And after your reviews and compliments in the comment section, i might gift it to my dad someday.
It shows its for 4k rupees and thats not cheap, contrary to someone's comment about it being cheap in the comment section. But perhaps it's cheaper to its counterparts.
Just for folks hearing about Indri, this whiskey has been rated as the number one whiskey in the world amongst 200+ whiskey brands, its a farely new brand in India but has aged whiskeys for around 3-5 yrs and thats equivalent to maybe 10-15 yrs in Scotland because of the temperature differences in Indian climate. Absolutely fabulous and well blended whiskey, a must have for whiskey connoisseur
There are so many whisky expressions on the market that it's hard to keep up with what's available. Cheers!
Happy this video blew up for you
Me too! ;) Cheers!
Indri whisky that won was special edition which usually comes for Diwali

I absolutely love this whiskey, its my new favorite!! Thanks for the review as always
as an indian we used to drink horrible whiskeys 20 years ago they were basicaly spirit and the world wont even count it as whisky , how times have changed today
Bonnie Scott is what I remember from early eighties. Cud compete against any grade of furniture varnish
Yeah.. 90% still drink what the world doesn't count as whiskey becuase whiskey has to be made from grains and India makes "whiskey" from molases. It made sense for a country that had shortage of grains, but now we are exporting grains. In that case why not export a value added product?
Most Indian whiskeys won't even qualify as whisky globally, more like Rum.
It's only post amrut and Paul John that other brands have started making actual whisky in India.

I always see it in store, never tried it. Will try this time.
Wonderful! I'd love to hear what you think after you do a tasting. Cheers!
I've never drank whiskey in my life but I'm fascinated by it
I didn't really start enjoying whisky until well into my 40s. My love for coffee didn't start until I turned 50. It's weird how our tastes change.
I have been an ardent fan of Burbon and High peated malts of Teacher's highland cream and never wanted to try anything else. Once at a party here in India, I had no other choice but try this(not out of compulsion). Man I was in for a Surprise. Now I am proud of one brand home made after the old monk dark rum.
Thanks for watching and commenting! I love hearing other people's experience with the drams I taste. Cheers!

Great to hear. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
Lovely review Kevin, I recently had a chance to buy a new bottle, and the choice was between this one and one of its direct competitors. I must suggest you try the competitor, as I bought that one, and it served me beautifully. "Gianchand" Single Malt. Please try this one, maybe you'd like it better than Indri.
Thank you for the compliment and the suggestion! I'll try Gianchand Single Malt, if I get the chance. Cheers!
It's a class bottle of whiskey that goes really well with Italian food
Italian food?! That's a pairing I can get behind. Cheers! ;)
I recently tried another Indian whiskey called Rampur and I cannot stop recommending it to everyone, by far my favourite. I would love to hear your thoughts if you ever get your hands on one.
Thank you for the suggestion. I just looked up Rampur and I like that it's non-chill filtered. If I can get my hands on a bottle, I will review it. Cheers!

I am Indian, I do not drink and might never will. But I love that people are liking our brands. Just a question these things taste good if they are cooler like cold drinks or normal room temperature?
Whisky can be drank at room temperature or on ice. The flavors will be diluted with cold, so some people find it more palatable on ice.
