I once saw my duo decimated our opponents after they casted obscurus. I used my protego on my ally since he got cc'd. Then after their obscurus, my ally used Incarcerous + Whizbang on both of them. Needless to say timing is essential after an opponent used obscurus
The best counter of obscurus is timing the counter attack, the dmg players takes when the attack is over is massive, and i think people dont read the description and the drawback of the spell lol
But if a bella echo activates its deatheater while its on your side of the field with obscurus u can be in a bad Situation as well even if you hope of countering the 5 sec damage debuff because the deatheater immideatly casts his crucio on you and this hurts if you got no answer against it in this moment. This card is not broken but its not easy as it might Sound. Easy to use Hard to Master i would say and so is the counter attack.
what alot of players dont understand is, that obscurus is not a card that you use aggressively or without setup. i play the card in hermione and outvalue my enemy over the course of a match consistently. once you are ahead in terms of casted spells and damage your enemy plays from behind. obscurus is only used IN reaction to a big enemy plays and NOT BEFORE a potential one OR if you get a second hermione cast or in reaction of a ron engage which is big damage and aoe clear. you wont catch a good obscurus player with these so called counters, the only thing that works well against it is dobby in my experience as an obscurus abuser.
how to counter it play harry and bap the fool with exspelarmis for 540 dmg XD with the oppogno bit going on too for 88's or more if you can drop magonagol out to stack the debuffs on them then that exspel is 717 for me at 15+2

Maybe obscurus isnt an op card but you got to admit is so fun to use, especially if everyone has it, is a battle of outsmarting xD.
I feel like if someone actually time their spell order efficiently. It's legit cannot be counter at all.

and a well placed incendio or venom they will take a lot of damage to that
So you can avoid getting hit by Obscurus if you use Obscurus as well 🤔
