I used 6-4-1 Candy apple recipe which is my favorite. This is also the candy apple recipe I recommend if you have more than 8 candy apples to dip. Best candy apple recipe hands down:
6 cups sugar
4 cups water
1 cup corn syrup
I usually add everything at the beginning because I'll forget at the end. This time I waited until my candy apple recipe mixture reached 280 degrees and then added my butter vanilla. Then I continued to let my candy apple mixture cook until it reached 300 degrees.

I'm so glad they came out really pretty. I see you trying to be creative by adding the luster dust to the candy mixture...lol.
@@DIYQUEENDIVA lol something i saw on TikTok
Ok...lol.
Do you add white food coloring before you add the gold food coloring?
No. No white at all for metallic colors. I don't add white to metallic nor black candy apples.
I like the metallic fold airvrush color
Hello Tamela. I agree with you. I like the metallic gold airbrush food color too.

Hi Queen, I like the luster better, but both are pretty.
Metallic gold
I love metallic too.
M Gold!
I love the metallic gold too.💕
Girl you got it going on. Love your videos. How long does an last after dipping?
Thank you so much and thank you so much for watching!😂💕 If you place them in the refrigerator they can last over a week.
Thank you so much. I need up doing a last batch, but in the afternoon time. I dipped 17 candy apples and it was still liquid. The other night I messaged you. I did the two batch at night. I'm not sure if the temp of outside played a role. But it Seized after 8 to 11 apples. Couldn't it it back up. I am in love with 6-4-1. And all most sold out. I had 4 apples left out of 47 apples. 😊
This is awesome! I don't know what you had did your first time...lol. I think you put too much gel food coloring in it. If your house was humid or warm that only makes them sticky. Well anyway, I'm glad you love 6-4-1 and your second round came out great! Yes, these candy apples will get gone fast. Sounds like you had a good turn out because you only had 4 candy apples left. Great job! I'm here if you have any other questions.💕
@DIYQUEENDIVA Thank you so much. You may encourage me to start my RUclips channel. You are helping a lot of people. By the way. I dropped a batch of candy apples at the event. But people loved that it was cracked and still sold. Yes, I believe it was the food color. Question: Is Chef white liquid gel good to use? I notice it doesn't do drops. It can pour.
Yasssssss! Let me know if you start your channel. I hope I can help and empower as many people that I can. Those candy apples will definitely get sold messed up and all once they see how perfect the candy apple mixture is. I believe you are talking about Chefmaster's. The only time I use Chefmaster's is when I use their metallic airbrush food colors. I stick to Wilton's white icing or if I don't have that I use Hobby Lobby's white.💕
@DIYQUEENDIVA Thank you so much. I'll get those colors, and I will share my channel with you. It's not too thick and not too thin, either. Just perfect 🥰 Enjoy your day, and thank you for replying back.
You're so welcome.
I Love the Metallic Gold the best. Should I add white before the color?
Hello Thea. I love Metallic Gold too. No don't add white to your metallic. I did not add any white at all. I know it sounds confusing but Metallic Gold Airbrush is a color you do not need to add white.
Metallic gold! I'm going to attempt to make these tonight. Praying I don't burn the mixture as I don't have a double-boiler and I'm frightened without it I'm doomed. 😂
You don’t need a double broiler. All you need is a pot and candy thermometer.
You got this!
Have you ever tried mixing colors to get an old gold? Sort of like the shade of gold used by the Saints.
I've never tried to get the old gold color. You can practice colors with only water and the colors. You don't need to put any ingredients in it so you don't waste them. For example: ruclips.net/video/M_N0sBxxa-U/видео.html
They both came out nice but I like the metallic gold the best. Where did you get the candy apple stands from? Are they on your Amazon as well?
Thank you. Those sell out very fast. I am working on getting those again back in my shop.
My preference is the Metallic Gold Airbrush Food Color. Which one is yours?
Pretty... but I still love my metallic gold by Americolor
@@dipped_apples_n_more847 thank you so much. I haven't tried the Americolor yet. I will make sure I try that brand in the future when I make gold candy apples again....lol.
It's me again just want to know what the stand that you have the candy apple on call trying to find it cannot find it
They are located in my Amazon bake shop.
Hello, first your videos are amazing, thank you for sharing your talent. I please need help on how to select the correct type/brand of pot for the candy apples? I need advice on what is the best option to cook the candy properly, your pot works great. Thank you for your help. Take care.
Hello KM. Scroll down to my Amazon bake shop link and click on that. In my bake shop go to the tab named "Candy Apple Pots" and you will see the only 2 pots that I use. There's only 2 listed. These are the 2 that I absolutely love and use in all of my videos since day 1. I hope this helps you.
@@DIYQUEENDIVA Thank you Queen Diva!
You're so welcome!
Metal gold
I love the metallic gold too.
Will you add your flavor in while at 250 degrees when you add color
I usually use clear butter vanilla by Lorann's and add my flavor at the beginning because I usually forget to add it at 280 degrees. If I don't add it at the beginning, I'll add it at 280 degrees. I hope this helps you.
The shiny one
I like the metallic one too. That's the shiny one.💕
Do you add white food coloring to your mixtures to get the right colors
Not for gold or metallic colors but yes I add white to all other colors to prevent my candy apples from being translucent.
So I don’t need to add white food coloring when using the gold chef master’s?
That’s correct.
Metallic Gold is my favorite but both are really pretty.
Yes, indeed! Thank you so much.
Food coloring one.
The metallic. I like that too💕
🎉
💕
Does anyone know what options you can use to set the apples on to harden? Cookie sheet? Baking pan? I need to make 30 and I don't have silicone sheet that long
I use parchment paper all of the time. To answer your question, use parchment paper.
Hello!! Thank you for sharing.
If I dont have lemon extract how can I mix the gold powder?
If you don’t have lemon extract you can use vodka. Those are the most 2 that are used. If I’m not mistaken those are the only ones that’ll work really good.
@@DIYQUEENDIVA perfect, dame quantity? I will try. Thank you so much!!
Yes, use the same amount. You're so welcome.💕
How long do you wait after dippi g the apples to add on gold dust
After you're finished dipping all of your apples go ahead and add your gold luster dust.
Does it get sticky when you do the brush method?
No it doesn't get sticky when you apply luster dust.
How do I prepare the apples before dipping so the candy sticks to the apples?
Here’s a series of videos with how to clean and prepare your apples. I hope this helps you: ruclips.net/p/PLSve20__OpxHn2jrfGgn4H_zj7MSckuWR
Luster dust
Really? I love metallic.💕
Where can I find the metslic gold at
I have it in my Amazon bake shop here--> www.amazon.com/shop/diyqueendiva

They can last up to 2 weeks or longer if placed in the refrigerator.
This is amazing .where did you get the gold stand the apples are on ???😊
Thank you so much Katharine💕. They are in my Amazon bake shop here: amazon.com/shop/diyqueendiva

Thank you so much Katharine. They will make your candy apple display look so cute.
Hi I need you to tell me how to make forest green apple candy because this gold is my niece school color with the forest green.
Hi. Forest green won’t be too hard so that’s a good thing. You can start with almost any shade of green, made by mixing yellow and blue. To darken the green, you can add a tiny amount of black. You can also try adding a little bit of purple if you do not want to use black. Test out your colors by getting a pot of water only. Add your white and then your colors. If it’s not the achieved color you can pour it out and start over until the color is achieved. I hope this helps you. Also check with Hobby Lobby or another crafting store to see if they have forest green.💕
@@DIYQUEENDIVA Thanks I will try it and let you know
Ok.
I made some this weekend that pass but once i dip the apple and let it sit bubbles everywhere any tips on how to prevent that from happening?
Yes, you didn't clean your apples good. You must wipe those apples down real good. Like every 3-4 hours around 4 to 5 times a minimum. Repeat the next day if you wait 48 hours.
Thank you 😊
You're so welcome.💕
If I want to keep them on the counter and not in the fridge, is that okay? How long can I keep them in paper? and if I don't have a candy thermometer, do I leave it on the stove for 12 to 15 minutes or more?
Not having a candy thermometer will be your biggest mistake as a beginner. It takes up to 45 mins and some it takes 60 minutes. If you keep them on the counter and not the fridge your house needs to be 60-65 degrees at all times. If your house is higher they will probably start melting in heat or a humid space. Usually, after I dip my candy apples I bag them or box them depending on what I'm making. Those candy apple bags stay on until they are ready to eat. I hope this helps you.💕
@@DIYQUEENDIVA Thank you, I'm going to get myself a candy thermometer,,, yes that's what I meant, how long does it keep in the bag at room temperature? because if I have a small children's party and I want to prepare them in advance and add them in bags, will they keep for at least 4 days?
If you make them in advance you need to bag them as soon as you finish dipping your candy apples. Leave the bags opened and do not close and tie the bags until the day of the party. You want them fresh so try not to make them too early. 2 days in advance is my preference. Now if your house is 60-65 degrees at all times you can bag, close and tie them up and leave on the counter. Other than that I would place them in the refrigerator. They will hold up 4 days in the refrigerator and if your house is 65 degrees or cooler at all times.💕
@@DIYQUEENDIVA Thank you very much, darling
You're so welcome!💕
I don't if I mixed it, but what is the flavor?
I always use butter vanilla by Lorann's. You can use the flavor of your choice.
@@DIYQUEENDIVA ok. Thx.
You're so welcome.
metallic much smoother
Yes, indeed!
Hey I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to add white color coloring first 😢 soo mad I didn’t watch this video first
Hey! We all have a starting point and the best learning lesson is learning from our mistakes. No, don't use white for metallic colors.💕
@@DIYQUEENDIVA thank u , is there anything I can do? Im making the candy apples now anything that will help
You're so welcome. If you really want them gold or if they are for a customer just rinse the candy off the candy apples with hot water to get the candy off and dry them off good and start over. If you haven't dipped your apples yet just disregard the candy apple mixture and start over. You can also just keep them because the next time you make them, you will know how to make them without using white. I hope this helps you.
They are both cute but I like the airbrush, less work
I know that's right...lol
@@DIYQUEENDIVA I'm trying to do a few goodies for my grandsond Birthday party.I hope it turns out ok🤞
