And in DC, the exact location of home plate of the old Griffith Stadium is shown on the floor at Howard University Hospital.
I love this concept! However the last ballpark here is misidentified. It’s not Busch Stadium in St Louis. It’s actually Crosley Field (originally “Redland Field”) in Cincinnati. The luxury apartments are correctly attributed to Busch Stadium though. A street called “Dalton Avenue” runs through where Crosley once stood. There are also new buildings and a park on the site with small homages like a mural and replica light tower.

Update on Tiger Stadium, yes it was demolished but the field was left there for a few years for anyone to use. However, it now has a building on it with the baseball diamond and it's being used by the Detroit Police Baseball League.
Man, hitting a ball on the roof of Tiger Stadium used to be a big deal. Sort of like McCovey cove nowadays. Kind of wish we had some really cool stadiums that would be considered "classics" later on. Other than the ones we already call classics. Like Fenway.
@@tomsampson8084 So was the demolition of old Comiskey Park. Jerry Reinsdorf could have easily spent the money needed to renovate the ballpark. Only problem is, they may have changed the name to Guaranteed Rate Field like they did to the new Comiskey.

So that was a pleasant surprise. Then I also didn't know at that time that in just a couple weeks it would begin the process of being demolished. So I got really lucky.
Or any type of 5th grade film making ability. At the end for example, no one knows anything about that tiny little "Busch Stadium". No explanation for what or where it is/was. 99.9% of people know Busch Stadium to be a very large major league baseball stadium in St. Louis, MO. What is this minor league stadium at the end???
@@Arturo-sm1tb Bush Stadium was the home of the AAA Indianapolis Indians until they got their new ballpark, Victory Field, in 1996. I went to a lot of games there as a kid. In 1992, a few years before Victory Field opened, I was a 12-year-old kid sitting in the wood bleachers at Bush Stadium in right field. I put my hand on the bench and then rubbed my eye. I got a splinter from the bleachers in my eye! So it was old and decrepit back in the '90s. After Victory Field opened, Bush Stadium went through a couple of reuses. It became a dirt midget race track for a while and then as a storage lot for cars traded in during the Cash for Clunkers program. It had been in rough shape for years, but after 2011, it just fell into complete disuse and disrepair until the grandstand was demolished. The new apartments there are really top notch even though the surrounding neighborhood is a little iffy. Victory Field, on the other hand, is an absolute gem in downtown Indianapolis just a couple of blocks north of Lucas Oil Stadium. Bush Stadium was once called Victory Field during WWII in honor of the war effort, so it made sense to call the new (now 23 years old) stadium Victory Field as well.
That was not Busch Stadium 1 or 2. The first one is just a park on Grand now, and the second one is now a entertainment center adjacent to the new Busch (3)
It’s ashamed some of these stadiums had to be demolished. Tiger Stadium and Yankees Stadium had rich history of legendary players played on those fields. Imagine standing at very same home plate the Bambino and the Iron Horse once stood there . Not the same at new yankee stadium and Comerica Park. I am glad Fenway and Wrigley are still standing.
You should have added Braves Field from Boston, which is now Northeastern University's Nicholson Field. Part of the grandstand is still used in their stadium.
Atlanta Fulton Co. has been demolished and the ground is now a parking lot, but a memorial is still there marking the point Hank Aaron's 715th homer left the ball park.
Why do they continue to build such large baseball stadiums, when throughout the grind of the season, even the most popular team's stands are fairly empty percentage wise until the play offs?
Idk if the old mudhens stadium was in this video probaly not because I went to see it a few years ago and it still looked good and they still used it for little kids but they didn’t let people go into the main stands
