    The reason I bought the Tissot PRX 35 mm quartz is because it is an exact remake of of the 1978 Tissot Seastar! I also own the original!

    • @wristrants

    nice production man!
    i just got the ice blue yesterday. If you have below 7 inch wrist, get the 35 one, because it is bigger than the stats suggest.
    I unfortunately got the one where the second hand is not really aligned with the indices, but it is still acceptable because when I look at the watch as a whole, it is just an absolutely killer watch. super comfortable, dare I say the bracelet is more comfy than my omega seamaster (which also don't have micro adjustment, at a significantly higher price).
    I also have taken it for a swim, submerged it for a couple of seconds at a time at no more than 1m deep. The watch is fine.
    if you've got 375 bucks, get it.

    For your size, its more accurate to buy the 40. My size is 16'5cm and i've got some doubts. The 37-38mm size would be perfect for lot of people. I think this size will be the next PRX release!

    • @wristrants
      @wristrants  Год назад +1

      I tried on the 40mm at the AD, seriously wished it fit me better 'cause the one with a brushed blue dial was my top pick of the line. But the non-articulating end links made the effective length of the watch too big for my wrist. I'm keeping this . . . until Tissot releases that brushed blue dial in 35. By the way, I think 35mms with Powermatic 80 were announced recently. Thanks for the tip anyway. Hope you liked the video and could consider subscribing. Have a good day!

    It's a fine watch EXCEPT the secondhand alignment. That shouldn't be a problem on an ETA quartz movement at this price; but it is.

    • @wristrants

      Yeah, I've heard a lot about that issue. Surprisingly, my copy perfectly hits all the markers. Made sure of that at the AD before finalizing my purchase. Hope you can consider subscribing to the channel.

      @@wristrants is there a way to correct the secondhand alignment?

    • @wristrants
      @wristrants  Год назад +1

      @@markv.5962 I'm afraid there won't be a fix for that. I've read somewhere though that the misalignment issue with the ETAF06115 varies on the orientation of the movement. Luckily, mine absolutely hits all markers with the dial facing up, which is all I really care for. If that misalignment issue is what's keeping you from getting the PRX, I'll have to say it's not a deal breaker. You'll most likely be staring at the case and bracelet finishing more than that very thin seconds hand. Hope that helps.

      @@wristrants
      Tissot's not the only manufacturer that has problems with this; in fact it's easier to point out the ones who seem to have few problems.
      Leaving aside companies such as Grand Seiko, one of the brands that has a good track record in this respect is Citizen for example.
      There's a lot of rubbish talked about the reason for misalignment including inaccrurate dial printing and now, it seems, caliber orientation.
      If it were the latter then the degree of 'miss' would be same all the way round the dial, but it isn't.
      Everyone who's encountered this alignment disappointment tells the same story; for example, at some points on the dial its short of marker, then it catches up at another point, then it's ahead of the marker. The crucial commonality is that it exactly repeats that pattern on every 360° revolution.
      There's only one thing that can logically account for all this, and that is inaccurate cutting and meshing together of the gear wheels.
      The companies that don't have problems have obviously invested a lot of time and money in this area, while others feel they can get away with it.
      One of the reasons we get into quality watches is their promise of accuracy and attention to detail in all departments.
      It's my only real gripe with quartz, so when I buy one, particularly with dress watches, I choose one without a second-hand, or occasionally one with a small subsecond dial which barely shows the problem.
