The Rubik is a great watch that personifies that 70s-80s look that is so much fun! The one failure is the backlight. For the most part I wear this as a day watch only. I love the look of the Casios, but I'm not a fan or resin cased watches. Nice to see Armitron is still providing a stainless steel alternative at a very reasonable price. Thank you for sharing your impressions and introducing this "winner of a watch" to the uninitiated!

The Casio AE1200WH, also widely known as the Casio Royale, has a modding community that has embraced this inexpensive copy of a Seiko G757, which was worn by Roger Moore in the 1983 James Bond movie Octopussy and turned it into a bit of a subculture of it's own. I have a AE1200WH-1A that I've easily taken apart, scrubbed almost ALL that janky-looking lettering off except for the Casio name with 91% Isopropyl alcohol and a Q-Tip, then filled the case with silicone oil before reassembly and I replaced the band with a really nice blue leather with tan twine stitching, Ritche watchband I paid $20 for on Amazon. It's so cool! I get a LOT of compliments on it and it's actually a much more interesting conversation piece because of what it is, than the same common Rolex you see all the time that needs no introduction.

Some videos claim the 30M water resistance means it is not suitable for swimming or showering. Is that accurate? 30M is almost 100'. Very few people would ever dive that deep. What do you think? By the way - fascinating history of an iconic watch. Keep them coming!

I use similar W-93H now for 10 or 20 years and it does his job. As the housing of my W-93H is black, I painted the inside with black color and now it looks supercool.
