When I bathed we had an older lab that had/was being treated for cancer.... She was the most well behaved dog, to the point that the dog would walk itself to the tub and jump in... But as the cancer got worse and she got older we had to physically prevent her from jumping in the tub herself... It was too much of an injury risk..... Never behaved badly, even though some appointments you could tell she was having a bad day.. I miss that dog.

YES! Most folks would have their dog put down for the cancer, but these folks gave him the surgery and chemotherapy! Fantastic. My dog had kidney failure and there was no cure or treatment. He was in so much agony, I had to have him put to sleep. RIP Romeo. 💧

I love how considerate you are to the dogs, I've watched other groomers be so rough and demanding and it always makes me sad. Monty looks fantastic 😀
To be fair, Monty is well behaved because he gets regular 6 week grooming appointments. The routine of grooming becomes a regular thing that they get used to.
Dogs who fight getting their legs shaved or scissored have to be brought in more frequently so that they become accustomed to being groomed like Monty.
It takes time, patience and lots of grooming appointments to get to that place.

Absolutely right! We had a Lhasa that came home with eye damage. It healed, but we never took him back to that "groom-abuser".
Montie is just adorable I love him!! Thank God he has people in his life who love him soooo much.
Monty is not only breathtakingly handsome with a heartmeltingly adorable face- he's just a quiet Angel... everything you could wish for in a doggie's nature. He would live in my heart if he were mine...
I cried watching this. I lost my 16 year old golden doodle to cancer in April. There won’t be a day where I wont miss her.

On a lighter note, thanks for the advice on shaving a dog. All of it is very useful and is very considerate of the dog.
I help my daughter in law when she started the grooming business from the basement, ohhh boy is very complex. The way you scrub, wash, rinse, wash their teeth,cut their nails and most important like the woman is showing....how to stabilize them to keep them safe. It's been 10 years since and they have a brand new place with plenty of employees. I love supporting good grooming places when they are good.
I knew she was good, but seeing another groomer confirm is still comforting.

My son has a dog grooming business and they do all type of dogs. I'm planning to get a dog for my birthday, it will be trained to help me cope with grieving and anxiety. I love to watching all type of grooming business.

My labradoodle sadly passed just over a year ago, it was always fun taking him to the groomers because he would trot right in there and love every second of all the fuss and attention he'd get from it even if he made so many silly complaining noises that any customer walking in couldn't help but laugh.
I hope Monty is healthy and happy now. He deserves to live a long healthy and happy life. Such a sweetheart.

I was a groomer for 4 years I could not afford to run the shop after my boss retired I once had a schanauzer that apparently was bad for his feet according to the owner Upon shaving his feet i discovered he had a matt balled up in his foot imagine walking what feels like a stone stuck in your foot for so long and he let me do it too. He was a great dog for grooming I miss it too :(
How you treat and handle your dogs warms my heart.
My dog was put down last year in May 5 days before his birthday, we found he had cancer and the doc said with chemo it was at best he would 6 more months and my family didnt want to subjugate him to that kinda life so we put him down he was just 5 years old going into 6
Just wanted to say that Monty with that surgery and chemo sounds like he doingwell im happy to see that, love to see a dog live a long happy life

Sorry for your loss mate. My doggo was killed by a tiger snake a day before her 1st birthday. We all understand the hurt of losing a loved family member of the doggo variety.
So sorry for your loss. And I think you and your family were very brave in taking that decision, having your dog's best interests in mind. I'm sure he had the best of life with you peeps.

I was so excited to watch your RUclips videos! Our rescue doggo Maya is a Catalan sheepdog/poodle mix, and she looks and acts so much like Monty! She lovesss getting blow dried, so much that she just lays down and I have to keep rolling her so I can dry all her sides😂

I have a 15 year old lab who is now very stressed when I give her baths. But she needs them every couple weeks at the moment. She will cry a lot and bark some. She rarely barked ever in her life. What are other ways I can help calm her down. She’s completely deaf and mostly blind now. I try to comfort her with lots of pets.

Really cool...i was also a hairstylist before i got into dog grooming. I was a hairstylist for 18 years, and i've been dog grooming for 9 years now....but sadly, i'm approaching burn-out and about ready to hang up my scissors for good. Enjoying your videos...keep up the great work! ....and Monty is such a good boy...such a treat to work on the mild-mannered pups.
Hairdresser for 12 years been grooming for 6. I only do one family at a time in hopes I'll be able to groom for another 20. I feel like we got a leg up from being a experienced cosmo compared to most groomers. It was cool to see someone else that started with a cosmo degree. My biz is even called Pets Included making a joke on serving humans first😂 thinking when I hire I'd like them to carry an active cosmo or barber license but I thought this would be to uncommon🤣 hope you had a long and happy career 🥂👏 and thanks for sharing💛
I have a beautiful golden doodle puppy and I hope that I can take good care of her and spoil her like this! 🥰 This boy looks so sweet and handsome! He kind of gives me a glimpse of what my baby will look like in about ten years or so! Haha!
He stands so nicely even while doing the sanitary areas! My G-shep turns into a ballerina when doing her butt. She's not too bad around the vulva, but the butt is a no go

I rescued a one-eyed schnoodle that was a stray and had major trust issues. Because of his past life his defense mechanism is biting. As a result I decided to take the time to get him used to grooming. He needed to learn he was safe so that when I do finally find a good & patient groomer there is less risk of injury to pet & human.
His grooms are not always beautiful but he has learned to not fear grooming tools or the process. I have finally gotten down to soft muzzle for doing his paws as I’m getting him used to getting his paw pads cleaned up. For this dog he has a grooming session roughly every 2-4 weeks as he gets very dirty when we are on the road in my semi.
I got him in 2020 & the changes in his behavior have been phenomenal. Patience and consistency have definitely worked.
But when I do finally finish his training I can give the groomer more information about my dog to hopefully have things work better for pet & groomer.

Watching this channel makes me miss my doggie Cash Mesquite. Cashy was German short haired pointer mixed with Lab. He was 12 years old and had CHF (congestive heart failure) he lived an extra year with my family taking good care of him, and making sure he takes medicine. He passed away in the middle of the night in the comfort of his home. For anyone else that has lost a family pet, I definitely know what you’re going thru. My family and I had Cashy since he was 1 years old 😔

Those dogs really trust you. This one you can tell. He does not flinch or anything. Just kind of sits back and lets you do what you gotta do. What a sweet dog and you are such a good groomer. Which you lived near me. My Mum's groomer makes her Pooshan look like crap.

I think he's a special boy. So serene & obedient. Poodles want to please their people, are extremely smart, forgive their owners for those ridiculous powder puff hair cuts. Goldens, well, they are Goldens and are a little goofy and a lot of fun. Plus they have a lot of love to give.
