Oh hey that’s me. Thanks to the dodo for sharing Hopscotch’s story and the community and viewers that made it possible, it’s people like you that give Hopscotch a second chance. Thank you. -Apo
Thanks for all you've done and continue to do not just for Hopscotch, but all of the cats in your community. Not to mention fostering an amazing online community of your own to educate, support, and inspire one another.
Young people like you give us, more “mature” folks hope that the future will be bright. Bless you for making Hopscotch a part of your family, and for getting her the surgery she needed. She would not have survived long on her own. Kittens are so adaptive - tripods usually do very well, once they are out of pain. Great job! 👍👏👏😺💜
@Collins Avenue It is mostly due to human conditioning. It is very common to show the same empathy you would towards another human if it were more "common" animal we resonate with such a dogs, cats and birds. However many people have chickens, sheep, goats, cows, horses and other animals which many people don't feel any empathy towards. We don't mass slaughter dogs or cats in gas chambers but we do it to pigs. We normalised the action of eating certain animals' flesh and others we feel utmost empathy towards. Nothing wrong with feeling it towards certain animals and not others - it is the way we grow up in this world and only something you can decide to change later in life.
I am very old cat lady it really means a lot to me to see younger generations taking up the work that we always hope we won't have to do but worry no one else will follow us and help the cats. THANK YOU FOR SAVING HOPSCOTCH and thank you for your youth and vitality and for offering that part of you to help cats. 💝
What a wonderful story! I have volunteered and fostered for years and quite often cats and dogs do need to have a damaged limb amputated. But almost always, when relieved of the pain from the leg they quickly find walking around on three legs let’s them play and explore. Tripods as we nickname them, are a different breed, and have proved how strong they are and one can’t help but love them!
@Forsaken No, not too soon. If the damage is too severe amputation is really the best option. Don't you think professional vets can evaluate that correctly?
Rest easy, friend. My sister’s a vet tech, and she says Vets almost always prefer amputations- not for money reasons but because it’s actually WAY less traumatic for the animal. See, dog and cat bones are much smaller and more delicate than human bones, so repairing them is much more difficult. This is especially the case when the limb has been injured for a while. And after all that, the pet still has to go through weeks of pain and staying inactive without knowing why. On the flip side, amputations have a quicker recovery recovery time because there’s no damaged limb to speak of. And animals typically adjust pretty quickly to having three legs. So while it is ideal for the animal to keep all of its legs, a lot of the time amputation really is what’s best.
@Forsaken The cat's overall wellbeing is why the leg was amputated. If the leg is crushed, and there is no blood supply to the leg, and the cat would be in severe pain with a crushed leg, then that's reason enough to amputate. Their legs are much more fragile than a human's, and without seeing his xrays - the leg might have been too forgone to save without risking the life of the cat, especially being a kitten. The important thing is, the cat is happy and able to move forward as a tripod. He can get around fine, has healed, and also has a loving daddy. Peace out.
I feed the local strays & have done TNR’s on them. Yesterday I came home to find one of the younger ones(21/2yrs) on my porch, covered in flies, barely able to move. 😢 He looked awful & his cries were heartbreaking. I think he may have been hit by a car or had a bad fall. His spine felt out of sorts. I quickly called my local animal control & then tried to give him water but he was too weak to drink. He’s on the other side now but I’m glad he found his way to my porch for help. At least I know he passed gently & is no longer suffering😢 I cried all night that I couldn’t do more but this video reminded me that even for his short time here, I did my best to love & care for him & he trusted me. 🐾🐈⬛ Rest in peace Fluffy🐾. Thank you to everyone that cares for Earth’s creatures🩵
I congratulate you on this rescue. For the first time in my life, I no longer have animals to caress, to love. I just take care of a stray cat who visits me. I had to place my cats, my health and my resources no longer allowed me to ensure their future. And I wouldn't get over it.💔
I love this video. Every cat that my husband and I had they were strays. It's like the picked us out and knew they were safe. 3 years ago we rescued a cat from North Carolina, he was at my mother-in-law's house for 5 weeks before we saw him. He took to us right away and took him home after our visit with my mother-in-law. He is funny and loves to watch the cats, birds, squirrels in our back yard.
"Give me one week of fight and I'll give you years of happiness " that instantly made me cry and feel so good for Hopscotch ❤ thank you for giving this little beauty a real chance at a real life❤❤
This resonates with me so hard. I worked at a vet for years. Adopted a sweet orange tabby who had been shot in the leg and needed it amputated. First night I brought him home he laid on top of me for hours, purring. There's nothing else like that feeling.
Sometimes, animals know they need help from humans. And when they approach, give whatever help you can; it makes a tremendous difference for them. The love they offer in thanks is beyond words💝
Thank you for saving that sweet cat. If not for you who knows what may have happened to him. But because of your love and compassion he now has the best life ever and a new best friend.❤❤
I volunteered as a carer and trapper for a Cat shelter. Some of the elderly or injured kitties, were permanent residents. I did adopt some of them myself for love and special care. This takes a lot of fundraising and dedication. My talent was teaching kitties to trust humans to be kind to them. Also volunteered for a wonderful Ferret shelter and plan to do so again. At present, I have a very fearful male Burmese Python whom I can now hold, rarely bites, and is learning I will not harm him. Lost my last shelter cat, Cindy, on May 15. My vet came to my home where she went to sleep where she had lived with care and love. She was 22 years old. Working with animals is very rewarding, expensive and sometimes breaks your heart when it is time to let them go.
Apo ! We need more wonderful and generous and kind and compassionate humans like you in this world. Thank you for loving HOPSCOTCH ! I also have a silver tabby male cat who needed to have his right hind leg amputated. This cat is the love of my life ! Good luck to you both. Thank you for all of the hard work you do with stray and feral casts. YOU ROCK ! 😺😺😺
You are probably the first human in his little life to ever show him any kindness compassion or love. You are what he was needing so it's no wonder he has such a strong bond with you now.
These videos never fail to hit me emotionally. So happy that this was a foster fail, it's the perfect home for this beautiful cat! Thank you so much for saving and helping him!! 🥰
When he said "I've said goodbye to a lot of beautiful cats..." I went ahh sh*t this cat isn't gonna make it 😢 Yeah I know, I misunderstood the situation lol. Made me tear up either way and in the end for good reasons. The world needs a lot more young people like this one here! Well done and keep up the good work.
Just when I give up on the human race I see a story like this and it restores my faith in humanity. Thank you Hopscotch and Apo for lifting my spirits.❣🐱
It really warms my heart to watch these rescuers do their thing! I love seeing that there are actually men out there that have the same love I do for them!
Hopscotch kind of looks like my old rescue cat, Jasper. I had him since he was a kitten when I was little. Jasper was a good mouse hunter, and he was a beloved family pet for 14 years. RIP Jasper ❤🐈
Brought tears to my eyes. Feral cat in the back yard 15 years ago, took 6 months to get him to vet, but he was one of the best cats I ever had. We named him Lanky, and his ashes sit next to my recliner after he passed two years ago...😿😻 God bless you...🙏
Three legged cats and dogs do amazingly well. Once their painful part is gone they really come out of their shell. I have this personal belief that rescued strays are grateful and thank their new guardians daily. Little Butterscotch just new quickly that you were going to help him. He’s a handsome cat! Now he’s happy too!
When I see beautiful little clips like this one,it helps me to restore my hope for humanity. This wonderful, selfless earth angel gave ❤️ precious little hopscotch a chance to be loved and cared for. You only have to look at Hopscotch to see how much he loves his human. When it comes to kitties who have a disability, they will change it into a super ability. My heartfelt ♥️ thanks to the gentleman and my love and admiration for little House.
Good man! We could use a few million more like him! We foster many dogs at our home even though they can cause quite a bit of damage to our belongings. Belongings aren't an innocent animal deserving of a long happy life and can be replaced! Much more often than not it's always a bitter sweet experience when a foster goes to their forever home, whether the fur baby is an adult or a puppy. We have 2 foster fails in our home with us, sometimes the connection is simply too great to let them go!
Good for you kid, I want to personally thank you for helping that poor cat. I took my cat in, Felicia, who was abandoned many years ago. She passed away over a decade ago, and she is sorely missed. But I wouldn't have changed a thing, I'm glad I brought her into my home. God bless, take good care of hopscotch. He's a beautiful cat btw, and he's obviously in a good home
Hopscotch and Apo's story really hits my heart & soul very deep. You can feel the love emanating from them both. ❤ It's as if they both found what they needed in each other. What a beautiful story. Thank you 💜 I needed this today. Grateful for all the TNR people out there doing good work for the animals! 🥰🌬💜✌
To have been there thru this journey from the moment we seen him on live stream to where he is now has been amazing. I'm so happy he found you guys and became a part of your family and filled all our lives with joy and hearts with love. Hopscotch is a special little boi. 💕😻
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your determination in getting this kitten to trust you and most evident loving you. You two are special. God bless you both!!! 💖💖💖
There's nothing more selfless than helping an animal in need. 🙏🏽 ❤ Hopscotch is adorable and sweet, and being a foster fail is something special. It means that you just realized that he was already home.
Loving people do for animals what this young man did for this very special cat. GOD blesses those who love and care for animals. This is a very heartwarming story and such a fine outcome.
I am so grateful to this young man for restoring my faith in humans. I am 72 and think this guy is great. Thankyou for being a " helper"...the world needs millions more just like you❤
Oh hey that’s me. Thanks to the dodo for sharing Hopscotch’s story and the community and viewers that made it possible, it’s people like you that give Hopscotch a second chance. Thank you.

Thanks for all you've done and continue to do not just for Hopscotch, but all of the cats in your community. Not to mention fostering an amazing online community of your own to educate, support, and inspire one another.
The world is a better place with you and Hopscotch in it and together.

Kittens are so adaptive - tripods usually do very well, once they are out of pain. Great job! 👍👏👏😺💜
You made me want to save a feral cat I’ve came across. ❤
There are very few things as painful to me as an injured animal struggling to survive. Thank you for caring for him!!
my heart can’t take it. i only watch the second half of these vids

I agree. It's a deep inner emotional pain. ❤
This channel really helps me not losing hope in humanity really.
Agree!
As long as we're treating the animals better than one another there's hope yet huh 🙄?
Me 2
@Keje_20 No, it should start with us to each other.
❤ Grey fox 🫶
"Give me one week of fight, and I'll give you years of happiness." my heart exploded with love for this guy ❤️
Well said! He seems like a good person, which is pretty rare now a days, IMO.
" if you give me a week of fight, ill give you years of love " 😭
Hopscotch is as sweet as butterscotch. How adorable he is.
having just put my elderly cat to sleep its good to know there are people looking out for the less fortunate ones. they need loved as well.
So sorry for your loss . May another cat in need of a home come into you’re life again.
I'm very sorry for your loss.
What a cool guy. A guy and his cool cat. Two good buddies.
Thank you kind hoomans.
I spend $400 a month on cat foods and feeding stray cats in my neighborhood. Trapped and neutered/spayed a bunch of them.
Anyone who saves a cat is my hero. Thank you. He's amazing
Poor little thing was clearly in pain, which is why he wasn’t as friendly as the others initially. You made him feel better. Well done!
That guy seems super chill and kind. The cat also seems super chill and kind. They were a perfect match.
I'm so glad he kept hopscotch. TY for taking care of him forever.😻😻

Thank you sir for choosing to adopt this adorable little tripod Kitty! I hope you all have many wonderful happy years together! :-)
Everyone, I highly recommend get involved with helping to spay/neuter everything! I have 7 cats (at least) that I have spayed/neutered and feed.
I wish you and Hopscotch many, many happy, healthy and wonderful years together.
Thank you for rescuing this beutiful furbaby.
Look at that sweet face! Yours too . I see the kindness radiating.
Hopscotch is the cutest little cat. Love his mask.
Among the hundreds you will come across, there will always be that special one just for YOU🤗😊
And if you're very lucky, it might happen more than once!
Cats are the weird angels we all need. ❤
A man who is loving and kind to non-human animals and who also relates well to people is a beautiful human being.
Both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Hopscotch very lucky to have adopted you as his dad.
Thank you so much for bringing this beautiful baby back to health. I hope you share many years together!

They both realized Hopscotch was already home, but the cat knew first.🥰
Too beautiful. What a wonderful duo these two souls make. It was meant to be.
I'm so glad you kept him. You belong together!
Loving people do for animals what this young man did for this very special cat. GOD blesses those who love and care for animals. This is a very heartwarming story and such a fine outcome.
I had to watch twice. I needed a double dose of hope and joy! ❤❤❤❤
Good guy!!!Very blessed kitty. 😸💗😸💗
