I wish all the best to Jos Verstappen, that will make his debut in WRC in Rally Ypres!
That’s not true it’s not his debut he raced in other rallies before ypres like haspengouw South Belgium rally and crashed twice so yea he kinda sucks
@@ticenits6947 I wrote "his debut in WRC"
@@TheRUBrally wrc2 or 3 to be precise and he went into a ditch to so yea he sucks
I can imagine Bottas having a rally career after f1, would be epic to see later in some videos: "even though his F1 career is brilliant enough, scoring 10 wins and countless podiums, his peak came in Rallying"
Stirling Moss finished second in the Monte Carlo rally in 1952. Vic Elford was European rally champion in 1967 and raced in several F1 events. Derek Bell also raced in F1 and did the RAC rally in a Vauxhall.
Thanks a lot for this info, Always on time for a part 2 🙂
Jim clark won several rallies
Stirling Moss could win any event if he had wheels and an engine at his ďisposal
Heikki Kovalainen also has competed in Arctic Rally Finland and is currently competing in the Japanese Rally Championship with good results
I'd like to see Carlos Sainz Jr enter a WRC event in a Toyota to replicate his father's feats. By all accounts, having grown up around rallying and dabbling on the family's property, he's quite handing driving on loose surfaces....
@@SpearfishingWalrus thanks to that no talent Danny Ric
@@PabeGeet more talent than you will ever have 🤣
@@JA-lg3tl that’s not saying a lot 🤣
@@PabeGeet you could be reborn a million times over and never win 8 grand prix & 32 podiums
@@JA-lg3tl🤭doesn’t change the facts, he’s over, he’ll never be a WC and that he‘ll be mediocre in Indycar next year.
Jim Clark helping the crew out for the remainder of the rally and even inviting them out for dinner is a very Jim Clark-esque thing to do, it is very much like him to do that...
I have read a story told by Chuck Daigh, chief mechanic and racing driver for the ill-fated Scarab-Offenhauser F1 team that tried to compete in F1 in 1960.
If I remembered what I read correctly, he remembered one time, at Zandvoort, they were working hard to prepare the cars for the race the next day.
He said that as they were all busy in their garages fixing the cars, a man walked past the open garage door, took one more look, and, just went in and started helping them. _He realized later that the man, is Jim Clark._
Jim Clark isn't even in their team. He's a new driver for Lotus, while the Scarab team were all from America.
0:55 Ah great to see that clip that I've uploaded has put into a good use for this compilation, thanks for the shoutout 👍
Great job mate! I get goosebumps remembering some good times 😄🤜🤛
I would love to see Kimi back. Also i would love to see Vettel in a rally car and also Carlos Sainz jr to follow in his dads foot steps
love this channel! you put a lot of effort into your videos and it shows!
Complimenti per la tematica Rub! 👍
E vedrai il prossimo che sorpresina porto 😉
@@TheRUBrally Sono sicuro che sarà un video interessante!
To understand Reutemann's rally skills, note that his beginnings in motorsports were racing Fiat 1500 cars on dirt road mountain races. Only later he moved onto sport road course racing, and even later to open wheelers.
Wife and I loved this vid. We are both F1 and Rally fans, very cool to see the F! guys out there driving in the snow and gravel.
Thanks for the video
What a great video, thank you so much
very nice vid, thanks
WRC is just more demanding for me. Change of surfaces, weather, night stages and overall narrow roads make it really tough not to crash.
Carlos Reutemann also had podium in SP(actual WEC)
awesome video
Impresionante video!!! Me gustaría ver a Ayrton, evidentemente ya no puede ser... Un saludo!!!
I would love to see Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen, and Fernando Alonso in a Rally of some degree.
3/4 of these guys slide their rear sometimes in qualifying to go faster.....
Fernando Alonso participated in the 2021 Rally Dakar, ik is not exactly rally but is interesting
i had the opportunity to talk with the new owner of the 205t16 that drove reutemann. Awesome guy. I saw the car in the autoclasica in 2019.
2:25 First time I've learned a word from youtube, I thought it was a typo
s. "an expression of praise or approval."
Carlos Alberto Reutemann subcapeon de F1 corrio dos veces , una en Grb con 205 t16, saliendo tercero y con Fiat 131 Abarth tambien saliendo tercero, las doa veces por el mundial
Está en el video, amigo...
ayrton senna: risk in rally is too high for me - ironically getting killed in F1 lol... RIP legend tho!
In 1986 group B was brutal too m8
really sad uh? michael too... 7 f1 titles later and after his RETIRE a SKI with family almost killed him :(
Group B was something else man LOL
@@parthlad yes but its still dangerous as fuk
This was very well documented
Very good video, even if you missed several F1 drivers that entered a rally, I will say just Jacky Ickx, Erik Comas and Carlos Sainz Jr.
Saw Jim Clark in Grizedale, unforgettable images.
What music was used during the Carlos Reutemann's segment starting at 16:26?
This scene at 5:00 looks similar to the footage featured on Richard Burns Rally game. Perhaps the very same, but instead the one in RBR was Paasonen. So the Kaihuavaraa stage which is featured on RBR also exists in real life...
Pozdrawiam serdecznie 👍💪😎.
Awesome
Guessed right the number one, Reutemann.
SUPER vidéo! 👌👍
Marc Surer also rallied, had bad accident with RS200 in 1986. His first experience with rally car was in 1984, when he tested the works Audi Quattro. In same occasion Hannu Mikkola drove Surers Arrows BMW in Donington.
Muchas gracias!!!! 🇵🇱CANTABRIA 🇵🇱
That helmet! 💛
Wow super video! What font did you use for the text?
Looks like a WRC TV-esque one
@@darth_autie_117 Yeah that’s why I asked😀
Juan Manuel Fangio used to race all kinds of categories of racing. He would have to be one of the greatest.
Not technically rallying but he drove in Turismo Carretera in Argentina, which were production cars on public roads at that time. Those same cars also raced the PanAmerican race which went from Buenos Aires in Argentina to Caracas in Venezuela. Legend. 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
Reutemann, legend.
It would be cool to see Sainz jr. in some rally racing with the help of his legendary father!
Prost losing control in the rain, who in earth could imagine that...
Fast fun fact
Kubica used same ds3 in 2013 which kimi used in 2011
Just in RRC spec (smaller spoiler and different turbo restrictor)
Think Jim Clark did the 1965 RAC too as well, where he really whacked his Lotus Cortina on the front wing and side on a huge rock, almost tearing it and the door off, in Wales I think. There is a famous artwork of him and the car at a service halt in North Wales
You find his adventure in the video
so Prost has really a problem with rainy conditions :)
Reutemann for Ever !
Kimi!!!
Olivier Panis has done rallying and rallycross too
I knew it was going to be Lole on top! 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
The Iceman no doubts!
Eric van de Poele competed in various Belgian and historical rallies after his short F1 career.
🔝🔝
Ayrton would've been a WRC champion too if he tried 👏
I'm still wondering wether Kimi went to WRC, just so he can get another shot of having the drink.
So basically, Kubica is the the best F1 rally driver so far(speed and results-wise). The only world champion, and 5th in a single wrc rally, driving lower category car. Forza Kubica! 😀
In WRC2 he drove an RRC car, which was basically a WRC car with a smaller rear wing and reduced power. In WRC he drove a proper WRC car.
@@zwjnathank you for confirming, rrc is lower category car.
@@egonrr1021 RRC is the highest class within the WRC2 category, and he was driving that on WRC2. Within the WRC category, he drove a WRC car, the highest class of all categories.
@@zwjna dude I know, read my comment again. 5th place overall in rally deutschland in lower category car.
@@egonrr1021 Only because five WRC cars crashed out (Ogier, Latvala, Ostberg, Novikov, and Al-Attiyah) and restarted under the SuperRally regulations with many minutes lost. But sure, he's the one F1 driver that did it the best in rallying.
Kubica the best!
❤
For me would be fernando alonso because he already competed in other motorsports disciplines and rally could be a great test to his adaptation
He tried Dakar... That Is really similar
I expected kimi to do rally after his f1 retirement
Not quite full Rallying, But Oliver Panis was a pretty sucessful Ice Racer after F1 =)
Trophy Andros, in the same team of Prost if i Remember Good
Okay
Now i now that Valtteri Bottas have big nuts.
Same about Kimi or Senna or Kubica.
You know your balls are made of steel if you can go rallying and win
It's funny how almost all the Finnish f1 drivers is on here haha
Kubica shoolud be first, this man was fast as hell
Yep....winimg special stages with Loeb and Ogier by 30 seconds and more was something amazing..and he drove car with right hand efficiency about 30%
@@zepter00 that's what i mean.. it was out of this planet.
@@Globusi snd he won multiple specjał stages not osły on tarmac buut also on gravel and snow.
@@zepter00 he was also a wrc2 champion. and it was all done in his debut. there are few people in the world who are as complete in their professions as Kubica
@@Globusi he humilated Hyden Paddon and Elfyn Evans when They competed with him in WRC2 ..later rhey were ( Elfyn
Evans still is) in factory teams
number 1 kubica
Crack Carlitos Reuteman !
Carlos Sainz to rallys in the future??
You forgot Stirling Moss
Now that Danny Ric is out of a job at McLaren maybe he should try his hand at WRC
Bottas for sure, but above all I would like to see Fernando Alonso at a rally event. No other F1 driver on the 2022 grid that I see capable of really sending it in a Rally car except for Daniel Riccardo maybe ?
He has raced in Dakar cars.
it would have been interesting to see Gilles villeneuve look's Like Colin McRae style...
Gilles
Are you English ???
No 🙂
You missed out Jean Alesi.
Warwick Subaru driving
Since this year we can add Jos Verstappen also to this list.
I think these F1 guys probably want to do rallying because it’s so fun compared to F1. Really as simple as that.
16:50 NOBODY BEATS WALTER RÖHRL!!! He is the true GOAT, and you all know it!!!
Michelle Mutoun has beaten rohrl
He was poor in Rally Finland.
@@MaxUpGearUp lol... who is rally champion 82? xD
@@juhol2923 when exactly did he started there?
@@chrisbee9643 Never because he was too afraid of the jumps in 1000 lakes rally
Ok just got
You forgot about alonso
He made the Dakar. I did not consider Raid here 😉
The Finns can drive anything
walter röhrl????????
How bout the other way around
Those that just tested and not participated whole season should not be here.
