    Very well argued.
My beanbag is filled with pellets from a hobby shop. The same stuff they use to fill bag chairs. It is very light.
I usually use my tripod as a monopod. Your way of using the monopod was enlightening. I think that could work very well. I notice that Charles Glatzer uses floating pillows. It is perhaps a safer environment where he lives.
I have a simple system for memory cards. My left side is for empty cards. The right side is for full cards. It works very well and has done so for many years.

Thanks for your detailed comment, I'll check out pellets from a hobby shop. And a great system for memory cards too :)

I'm still stuck with the heavy-ass bean bags. I need to adjust to the lighter bags.

I trigger remotely. For the Komodos, I use either an RF trigger (like the one I've shown on this video - ruclips.net/video/unDKUoh7JeA/видео.html) or sometimes the Canon Camera Connect App. For the monpod, I use the Canon Camera Connect - because there I need autofocus, and need to see a frame. With a wide angle (like for Komodo) - I have a good sense of the frame, so I can shoot on manual focus - and I find the RF triggers more trustworthy. The Canon Connect App keeps losing connection, so my preferred way is an RF trigger. hope this helps.
