I love how they talked about Roose Bolton, given what's to come next week. When Calvin called Roose honorable, I was like, "wow, another character analysis he'll soon regret."

+naivuolis I started Game of Thrones at the end of April and I had heard of the Red Wedding and I had even gone to Wikipedia back in 2013 and gotten spoiled on some of the events. But I guess three years was enough to forget cuz I couldn't remember a thing that I had been spoiled on when I was watching the episodes, I didn't even realize I was watching the Red Wedding episode.
"I said the old words, not because I believed in them..but... He was my friend, and he was dead" this is my favorite line in the whole show. It gets me so emotional , I can't pinpoint exactly why

I had forgotten how great Littlefinger's speech was. Roz's brutal death by Joefrey cemented my hatred for the king and ended my hope that Margery might make him better. Surprised that Calvin did not guess the cross is the Bolton banner and realize that the horn blower outside Winterfell was Bolton's Bastard. Great review.
Haha :D Calvin's thoughts about Roose were priceless, "He is an honorable man." Couple episodes and he'll never say those words about any Bolton again :p

To be fair, there is still quite a bit of misdirection about some characters like that at this point. Calvin picks up on some interestingly subtle things about characters, but falls for a lot of misdirection. :D

Not through with this review yet, I don't know if they bring this up... Melisandre was very anxious to know what there is on the "other side" and was shot down. "There is no other side. Only darkness." The exact same thing happened to her with Jon Snow. I found that interesting.
When i watch Games Of Thrones i always feel as if i'm watching Littlefinger & Varys are playing Chess against each other

Then I heard a theory about Season 7 when cersei and jaime were standing on the map. Something that symbolizes that jaime will kill cersei by chocking her; She was standing on the neck and he on the fingers. That Arya killed jaime then used him to get close to cersei and kill her.

I find it so interesting that Calvin has put 1 and 1 together on so many things and has not figured out that Theon is basically "Flayed Man" and didn't put together that he is the bastard of Roose Bolton.

When you get to The Rains of Castamere, please take time to talk about Sam killing the white walker as well as the red wedding, as this is an important moment in the lore of Game of Thrones. Its also pretty epic and is a glimmer of light in the darkness.
If words are to be pronounced as they are pronounced in the show, I think some of the ones you (Eric) have stumbled on in the past might be Cersei (sir-see), Thoros of Myr (meer), R'hllor (reh-lore), Daenerys (da-nare-iss). I honestly couldn't do any better than you on Lord Commander Mormont's first name lol. I know reading the books makes one tend to pronounce them differently than other people choose to pronounce them, as evidenced famously with Hermione Granger lol.
Also, please make a note or something to inform Calvin, like during the discussion of 3x10 or before starting 4x1 that the actor playing Daario Naharis is changed. Save him the confusion.

I don't know if I was too stupid or just tipsy while watching/ rewatching the series but I swear to god Eric picks up on so many details/ connections that I never even made. Like I just thought Ramsay was using the horn to be an annoying cunt (which he is, with the pyschopathic tendencies) but I completely forgot about the hornblower at Winterfell... man.
I'm sure having read the books is also an added bonus. I'm still working on it 😅

Hey guys , great channel i like what you're doing here, i'm just trying to help when i say the following: You say it "Rehlohr" typed how it should be heard, you kind of steered Kalvin into telling you he likes Roose Bolton, i think you should just ask questions and present facts and sometimes encourage Kalvin to ask you your view on certain stuff but always after he gives his 2 cents, i admit even i might be tempted to do the same, on the other hand i do agree with keeping the situation foggy and murky before episode 9, anyway it's only a suggestion you don't have to do what i say, and i can't force you to, obviously... but... What the showrunners decided to do with Berric, Thoros and the Brotherhood in this episode made me legit angry. Berric wasnt like that in the books. He was not a fuckin sellout. He would not do what he did in the show.
