I use a pick tool on the mirror nuts. I use the u shaped one and it works really well for getting behind the nut washer to pinch it up against the socket
I take it the new panels fit with the old dash, how's the color match from the 05 king ranch tan and the tan newer door panels? Would you happen to have mouser part numbers for the new connectors? Make my own harness in case I can't get wires from new doors?

ever add power windows/locks/mirrors to a base model full manual truck by chance? debating going the oem route and adding all the GEM module all wiring etc or just running amazon/ebay door actuators and my own wiring for the windows and mirrors with oem switches. thoughts?

3yrs late but when you take the nuts off the mirrors you can put alittle bit of grease in your socket so the nut sticks to it and doesn’t fall

for the mirror nuts I'd slap a tiny neodymium magnet on the end of the socket .
