The only people who need unending battery life are those outside all day long and are on their phones all day long. Anyone sitting for even a portion of their day can charge their phone (especially with a wireless charger) so you can simply pick up and rest your phone on it between use. It's a huge non issue today for even phones like the iPhone SE that have relatively short batter life.
It's funny people think the mini is small when not long ago a 5.5" screen used to be the plus/ XL size. I have a 12 pro and 13 mini, i personally like the form factor of the mini. I do like the camera more on the 12 pro more. If battery life is important, pro max is definitely the way to go. However, i don't know why so many people cry about battery life now, when 99% of people are always close to a charger.
Screw these large phones companies are making nowadays , theyre extremely uncomfortable , i dont get it , people love torturing their thumbs to death ?
You have to remember though that screens are measured diagonally. The width of the mini is just slightly smaller than the 4.7” iPhones of the past, but a whole lot taller, which is useful for browsing the web, texting and making the phone look modern, but for content watching, the wider screen of the Plus models are noticeably bigger. I have a 13 mini myself and love it, after I sold my 11 Pro Max and before i got the mini I used an SE1 and an 8 for a while, the SE was too small, the 8 was totally fine but the Mini is just perfection, so compact yet so much screen that it doesn’t feel small at all, i just wanted the telephoto lens
@@David_10157 the battery is great but it’s not how you say, according to Apple’s website, the 12 Pro has the same 17h, the 12 Pro max does 20h, 3h is quite a big difference, still, it’s impressive how far iPhones have come in terms of battery, up until 4/5 years ago they were known for their terrible battery, and now the cheapest 13 has the same battery as the regular sized Pro of the previous year. I have a 13 Mini and love it, the smaller battery is a worthy trade off for the convenient size.
I think its amazing. I switched back from Android. I used to worry about customization and expandable memory etc, but now I don’t have time for that in my life so I switched. My battery lasts all day and more. I really wanted a small phone i could use with one hand, that lasts all day, and has flagship specs. This is that. No it isn’t for everybody. But its still bigger than the 5s, which was the last iPhone I ever had, and the perfect phone per my beliefs. This is a great second place. Coming from an S10+ was hard, but I’m glad I did. I would also go back to android one day, but not for the next few years minimum.
I will be switching iphone as well from my galaxy note 10 plus Let's see how it goes I don't use my phone like I did 3 years ago so hopefully it will be good

Watching this video comfortably on an iPhone 13 mini! I love the screen in the size! I am legally blind and use a mobility cane to get around. Needless to say my vision is crap lol! This phone is working just fine. I use a combination of VoiceOver and the zoom feature both can be found and accessibility settings. So far I am enjoying the experience! My only complaint is the speakers. They don’t seem to be as good as the speakers on my iPhone 11. Also because of the small form factor I find myself accidentally activating things I didn’t want to. When I am using my thumb to type my palm or hand will activate something that I didn’t want. So far those are my only complaints but other than that really solid phone.
I love small compact phones... its unfortunate most companies are moving away from them, currently on a pixel 5 and im not an apple lover and i hate all the restrictions it has but the mini makes me wanna buy and make a small apple setup. The Iphone 5s was my favorite and honestly that phone is 1 of the best ive ever had hands down, most durable phone ive owned .
had the 12 pro max and went to the pro for smaller size because i was afraid the mini battery and size would be to small. but i got the mini and use that as my daily instead of pro. i like it a lot better and it works with life in general better for me. light weight & pocket size > battery & 120hz & a couple camera features
I think it's great that Apple are offering the choice, and if I were buying one of their phones today, this is the one I'd consider. I've used a similarly sized Pixel 3a for the last 2.5 years, and found it to be a very ergonomic experience. There was a time when this size was considered huge!
The battery of the 13 mini will last one day for sure I’m using it a lot and It can easily hold up for a whole day. I’m not playing games on it though. I use it for WhatsApp, RUclips, social media as Instagram, Facebook and reading. Reading news and so on. If I need a bigger screen I use my new 2021 iPad mini or iPad Pro 11‘‘ so yeah. For outside and on the go the 13 mini is perfect! I even gave away my 13 pro max for the mini and I don’t regret a second !!

I have a dream. iPhone Mini Pro. Make it thicker to accommodate all cameras and more battery. This would be awesome. And a reminder for those thinking it would be uncomfortable to hold if would be thicker: the 1st gen iPhone was 11mm thick. That's 1,1cm thick. And still was a pleasure to hold due to it's short width.
I upgraded from the 11Pro to the 13 Mini and have been enjoying it. The only negative I’ve had is when zooming in on something on FaceTime video calls, it gets very blurry and it doesn’t zoom out far enough. Since I carry either the iPad Mini 6 or 2018 iPad Pro 12.9, this phone has been a godsend.
I can’t wait to get my pathetically small hands on this thing. As someone who regularly carries out other duties (peeling a banana with one hand etc) while using my phone, the possibilities will be endless.
@@jayden793 yeah it was but I look at it like this, every day I use the phone it becomes cheaper. My SE I got used for 300 buck way back when. I used it every day until a few days ago. Just came across this. Great review. I moved over from android after leaving Apple for 5 years or so and went for the 13 Pro which I found too wide and heavy. The Mrs has the Pro Max which whilst the battery being incredible is frankly enormous. I've exchanged for a mini and an ipad mini which I find a great combo. I use the phone as a phone and the ipad for everything else. I can live without 120hz and top end cameras for the sake of the portability. Great for running too as it slips away easily.
You get a like just for the Gilbert imitation! LOL I have the 13 Mini. I bought it to play around with and I like it. My main phone is now the 13 Pro. I got tired of the super-slab 12 Pro Max and went back to what I feel is the optimum size, 6.1". Sweet phone! My Mini is Midnight and it's gorgeous. I wish the Pro came in that color. My Pro is Space Gray, but I did get the midnight silicone case for it.
After coming home after 18:00 with 60% battery left I just understood that it’s a perfect phone for me. The only thing I don’t like is that when I watch this video in landscape mode, the notch is sticking out for about 1.5-2mm. That’s not nice
have you gotten used the notch? I’m considering getting the 13 mini over the 13 bc of budget. i’m upgrading from an iphone 8 so i feel like the size would be perfect for me since it’s nearly the same size just very slightly smaller
I have the iPhone 13 mini. It's a fantastic product. I use it only as a phone, I check my email, and some banking. I get nearly 48 hours. It fits perfectly in my shirt pocket without the added weight. I have a smart TV that I watch my movies on. There is no need for a large display on a phone. Use a smart TV
I have the 13 mini and I find it works well for someone like me that is always using it for work. I’m constantly having to dig it out of my pocket to answer calls and text, and this size makes it so easy. For entertainment I use my iPad when I’m home. The 13 mini is perfect for me.
I beg to differ. I use my phone a lot. I have large hands. This to me is the best iPhone. The tech world has gone mad with the bigger screen is better. The form factor of this 5.4” iPhone is unmatched. I returned a 13 Pro for this.
Yo, so how’s the battery life? And also I’m a heavy user. I stream a lot of videos/shows on my iPhone 11, If I do make the switch you think it’ll effect me? With battery issues and all?
@@mariovelan7380 Battery life was better than expected. I’m always near a charger so that’s a non issue for me. I’ve never run out of battery if that’s what your asking. This Mini is a great phone. That’s 120hz screen has won me over for good. Pro motion on my phone and iPad Pro is a great combination.
I don’t understand where the idea for this video came from. I have never even once, In a review or on thousands of comments on RUclips, seen anyone say this phone was terrible or dog water. What? That was literally made up for this title. Even people who think it’s too small for their own use, generally seem to still think it’s a wonderful phone.
I think most people go for the mini for size, pocket convenience they use it primary as a phone. They don’t use their phone for content consuming other than music but use a iPad mini to fill this need. The battery life of the iPhone 13 has been shown as good as iPhone 11 or iPhone 12, it is great. It is sort of a myth the battery life is bad. A small phone will not have the battery life of the Pro’s, it’s a little unfair. Throw a MagSafe battery overcomes any battery life shortfalls of the mini. Plus I have the MagSafe battery as the home charger but take it when go out. The screen difference between iPhone 11 and the mini, I didn’t notice a disadvantage. Actually I use my mini more than I did my previous iPhone 11 I think cause easier to use one handed. It could be the mini is for older generations at the moment. But I won’t be surprised if younger generations will change their minds next year when unavailable and suddenly becomes cooler to own a pocketable phone than a brick. Thoughtful video though.
My girlfriend just gifted me the iphone 13 mini as a birthday gift and this is one of the best phones i have held and used by now, don't get me wrong the phone looks big in videos and pictures but in person its mucj more smaller, i just love it so much its a masterpiece
Had the same impression. I watched a lot of reviews and found it big but in my hands they're so small! Still, i can't easily reach all screen corners without some fingers gymnastics. Thank god i didn't pick the standard one, i would be struggling now.

Got 13 mini yesterday, starlight. Coming from XR. This is a dream. Loving the display and how pocketable it is in my shorts. Hoping it would fall less from my hand and shorts.
11:23 you made me check my battery usage. 9h 58mins screen on time. Yea. I needed to charge my X twice a day which made me get the 11 Pro Max. As a next iPhone, the 13 Pro Max is what I need, but I prefer the small size of the Pro. I really love the mini, but battery life is a dealbreaker for me.
11 hours and 57mins screen on time on my iphone 7 plus…. had to charge it to 100% twice. im so sick of these people who review phones then use it for like 3hrs and say the battery is great
This phone is very close in size to my LG G6+. I certainly didn't want anything bigger!! So I think this will be a good upgrade for me, as well as my first non second hand phone! I'm excited. 💜 I also have smaller hands and an iPad for my bigger screen.
I’m using an old SE, 1st gen. I upgraded to the 12 mini but the screen was so big I found it hard to type on, so I sent it back. My SE is tiny compared to these ‘mini’s’!
I think one of the reasons the mini don’t sell as much is the marketing, people don’t like to think they are buying the worst, even if it’s almost as big as an iPhone X/XS/11 Pro screen, and bigger than the normal size of few years ago (4.7”). Not to mention the 17h battery which is the same as the 12 Pro. I’ve had Maxes before and now with a mini I don’t feel the screen is any smaller, just better to hold, it only takes a few hours at most to get used
The battery life of my 13 mini is better than my 11 Pro Max. And plus I love the product red color this year. They should just make this shade the forever product red. One-handed uses awesome, the camera is good enough to keep me satisfied as it is the 12 promax camera in the 13 mini. CINEMATIC MODE is great too.
As much as I’d love to have the larger screen and better battery life, I can’t imagine having a phone that I can’t just slip into my pocket. How do people carry those large phones???
im looking at this phone for a upgrade as im coming from a greatly used 6s. So even if this battery is low life for the modern era of smartphones its still way better than the ~1700 mAh from my current phone. Im thinking of getting a magsafe power bank since i already carry a 10,000 mAh to get me through my day with the 6s since it needs constent power anyways to run Google Classroom. Not to mention the screen is bigger, sharper, with a slightly smaller form factor than the 6s (and by slightly i mean millimeters) so im actually excited no matter what.
@@alekx5760 I get less battery life, but it’s not far off and I’d say possibly even marginally better when streaming video on 5G. I assume because of a more power efficient modem.
Hi ive watched ur vids on the 13 mini and the new iPad mini. im thinking of getting both, throwing in a bag, and being done with worrying about computing for a few years. I'm old, retired, and hell, I just want to consume, take notes, and shoot content. I figure I can get the smaller phone since it won't be out of the bag much, I just need it for the cell connection, as the mini I am getting does not have that. I hope I'm not nuts for doing this, but I just had cataract surgeries in both eyes and my eyesight is really good now. Any thoughts, as u seem to have done extensive research on this pairing. I also need help with the colors. I really hate cases, just a crossbody bag, and what colors would look good together? The colors never match it seems, for what I want. Does the purple mini go with the midnight black? Or would the whitish color be better on the mini? hell, I don't know. I'd rather just have two colors the same, but that seems impossible here. thx!!!!
Imagine is some fantasy reality where they made it a little thicker, they could loose the camera notch and use the extra space to put in a bigger battery that actually lasts a day.... Why do Apple think those who want a phone that actually fits in your pocket would prefer the phone to be 2 millimeters thinner rather than it actually last a long day of use? You know the device we all rely on so much that does so much right up until the battery goes flat!
I’ll probably get hate for this, but I actually bought a 12 Mini today and it’ll come to me on the 22nd so, I’m very excited! But I’m also a tad bit worried about battery. In 2016 I went from a 7 Plus to an iPhone SE and that was a fun time, so I’m hoping this is that for me but in 2021-2022 lmao… great vid thank you!
Got one of these on the way to me. I do not like the monster size phone. I'm retired and wanted something easy to carry around. And I don't use one as a computer. I use a Chromebook for surfing the net and watching videos. If I'm out of town using a small phone for a few videos won't bother me. Coming from a 5 y/o android this will be a big improvement.
I just got a *gorgeous* midnight-colored iPhone 13 mini *FOR FREE* !! US-based carrier 'Verizon' is literally giving them away for simply adding a new line to someone's already existing "family plan". Can't argue with the value there. Love it!
I have about 2h of screen on time, when I watch youtube it's always on the computer, and I think one handed use is the ideal feature in a phone, and in no way do I get the feeling the screen is "small" ... I get that it's not for everyone, but for me, you can pry my 13 mini out of my cold dead hands.
12 mini or 13 mini is a phone for those who just seeks to have a compact phone with everything top edged specification. Certainly not meant for those who are already using a larger display and wanna move to a smaller display. So the biggest thing that really bothers most using is it’s small display. Rest 12 mini or 13 mini is a great phone. Mini version is a quite difficult choice for some users. Instead people feel much better if they use or go for XR DISPLAY. But that will let you say that XR is not as powerful as 12mini or 13mini. So that’s the reason mini series are quite difficult to decide.
Minis are for iPhone users that have small hands and like to use phone one handed also has the exact same specs as the 13! Aside from battery and size of course
I have used iPhone 6 then 6splus then a 12proMax & I was tired of lugging around all the large devices so I just switched to the mini 6 months ago it really is perfect so he’s right about what people really need it’s to bad it didn’t meet enough needs as it’s discontinued 🤷 unfortunate, I’ll be checking out flips once the mini isn’t supported in iOS updates
I don't understand why people don't care more about one hand usability. I drop my s10e and used to drop my iphone 6s so much more than I did my 5's cause of the size, and both of them are considered compact today. I broke my iphone 6 using it while sitting on a bike. How can you care about slightly easier content consumption if you can't use your phone without two hands or tossing it around on one like a clown?
The iPhone 13 mini is my first iPhone, I was an android user but I want to experience go back to a small phone and experience IOS in a phone, I can tell that I am very happy with my phone I use it to send message, listen music, and to see social media like 15 - 25 minutes per day or less a watch some videos in RUclips and take some pictures, if you use the phone for this the Mini is the best option, if you spend all day in social media or watching videos this phone is not for you
iPhone 13 mini is the best phone I’ve ever used. Better than the Google Pixel small phones. Can’t stand carrying a large phone in my back pocket. Using a small phone is also better for weaning yourself off social media addictions.
I´m wondering...has anybody ever made a battery life review of the 12/13 mini using it as a daily driver with 5G turned OFF? Because when i had my regular 12 last year, i had to turn off my 5G connection to improve my battery life significantly in comparison to 5G turned on. So maybe the 13 Mini´s "pour" battery life could get at least a lil better...maybe you could take this test by yourself, Noah? :D
I developed a cronic strain on my fingers and wrist that my doctors think my smartphone usage might have caused it. I have always used android but this time I chose to go with the Mini 13 because it's smaller, lighter and still have good specs.

I moved from iPhone 11 after 2 years to to the 13 mini and no regrets. Honestly after a couple of days the screen size seems normal and not small. When I go back to the 11 it feels like a tablet. Too big. I do prefer one hand typing, but even when doing two hands I find typing easier on the mini since it is less travel between keys.

I was tempted by the trade in promotion to go from 11Pro to 13 Pro and honestly…this damn thing is too big and heavy. I’m probably gonna exchange it for the 13 mini
@@randy5297 battery is good. I usually end my day at around 30%. It’s all about changing your habits. I now plug in the device in the evening to top up.
@@nickentros take the leap
So true. And a battery pack when long travelling is also a no brainer
Right on. Moreover, the 13 mini has more battery life than all of the iPhone 12 models including the Pro Max.
I will be switching iphone as well from my galaxy note 10 plus
Let's see how it goes I don't use my phone like I did 3 years ago so hopefully it will be good
💯.
I've been using Android since the HTC Evo 4g released in 2010. I'm currently on the Note 8 and it's time to switch. Compact, software support 5+ years and more.

This phone corresponds perfectly with the Steve Jobs philosophy that a phone should be capable of being used with one hand with ease. Watching this on my 12 mini 👍🏻
The Mini is not just a phone, it’s a statement.
This can be said about every iphone.
@@Young_Dab he means the size specifically. Some people can’t use their phone with two hands, some don’t have giant hands but still want to one-hand a phone. Some people want to go for a run and not have to carry a big slab in their pockets or arm bands.
Not everyone wants a small phone and not everyone wants a small phone that why there’s so many models
🎉🎉 love this Phone.
I just wish i could’ve got the blue one
Agree 100%
So true
I'm spoiled with the 120 hz never going back haha
I think it's great that Apple are offering the choice, and if I were buying one of their phones today, this is the one I'd consider. I've used a similarly sized Pixel 3a for the last 2.5 years, and found it to be a very ergonomic experience. There was a time when this size was considered huge!
Buy it it is rumored iPhone 14 wont habe a mini
I love my 13 mini. If I want to watch a movie or something I’ll pull out my 12.9 inch iPad Pro

It lays in pocket perfectly no matter you're in work or on sport activities like running or biking, and completely no issues with battery working time - one day of very active up to two days when i am not using phone a lot
I got the 13 Mini due to me wanting to save a bit of money along with wanting a smaller phone. It feels no different from my iPhone 12 Pro and the battery feels a SMIDGE worse then my 12 Pro however it is not anything that is draining or killing me at all. The size of the phone...is so nice. I only had one issue ever and that was when I was watching videos far away, just smaller screen but that is once in a blue moon. Texting is phenomenal even as a 6'1 man with big hands! Love this phone!
r u still using it or have u upgraded to regular 13/14?
Since I carry either the iPad Mini 6 or 2018 iPad Pro 12.9, this phone has been a godsend.
are u still using it... i am torn between 13 mini or regular 13...not sure which one to chose.
I can’t wait to get my pathetically small hands on this thing. As someone who regularly carries out other duties (peeling a banana with one hand etc) while using my phone, the possibilities will be endless.
The 13 Mini is the best phone since the 4s IMO!

Thanks for the video.
I can confirm I'm not 60+ and don't spend 10 hours a day on a phone.
I think this will be my first iphone.
3:57 You are the first reviewer I’ve seen mention that notch protruding while watching a video-well done!
Perfect Reason To get this Phone! I have the M1 iPad Pro 12.9 I use that more than my phone lol I just wanted better cameras so this phone was perfect and budget friendly.
The 13 mini is my first flagship phone for a long while since replacing my 6s plus. I’m seeing that I’ll use this for a very long time as well.
I moved from a 12 pro max to a 13 mini and have been pleased.
Still pleased? I am considering moving from a 12 pro max. Afraid it’s a bit of a downgrade though 😕
@@ryanbaker2134 it’s a downgrade in size but from the apple store here are some stuff the apple store says when it comes to these two devices:
12 pro max: 6.7, 5G, ultra wide cam, A14 chip, 20 hours of screen time
13 mini: 5.4, 5G, ultra wide cam, A15 chip, 17 hours of battery so really it does depend what your going to use the phone for…

Got 13 mini yesterday, starlight. Coming from XR. This is a dream. Loving the display and how pocketable it is in my shorts. Hoping it would fall less from my hand and shorts.
How is the Battery compare to the Xr better or not?
Does the battery is better? Or worst comparing with the iPhone XR? I have the iPhone XR and I am planning to get the iPhone 13 mini
I also have smaller hands and an iPad for my bigger screen.
Noah should have 1 million subs. Such great sharp content! Keep it up.
I don’t know whether this is the best phone ever but it is comforting to use a light phone and it handles most of the daily tasks
I remember watching girls type 1000 words a second on the iPhone 4. The display on the mini is the same size as 8 Plus.
I’ve had Maxes before and now with a mini I don’t feel the screen is any smaller, just better to hold, it only takes a few hours at most to get used
This phone is for me. My upgrade paths starting with iPhone 5: 5, SE Gen 1, 8, SE Gen 2, 12 Mini… it’s only logical and now have the 13 Mini
Why not the SE3? I’m on the same path as you and also interested in the mini but man i love my home button.
So I got the 13 pro…but am thinking of returning it for the 13 mini..🙄
The battery life of my 13 mini is better than my 11 Pro Max. And plus I love the product red color this year. They should just make this shade the forever product red. One-handed uses awesome, the camera is good enough to keep me satisfied as it is the 12 promax camera in the 13 mini. CINEMATIC MODE is great too.
As much as I’d love to have the larger screen and better battery life, I can’t imagine having a phone that I can’t just slip into my pocket. How do people carry those large phones???
Got my 13 mini + iPad mini 6 = perfect combi
im looking at this phone for a upgrade as im coming from a greatly used 6s.

The little notch when wtaching a video on youtube can be set to fill the screen on the youtube’s settings😊, thank me later
I think MagSafe and the extra convenient portable charging it has enabled makes battery life less of a concern :D

IPhone 8 plus, 5.5 inch screen= big phone. IPhone 13 mini, 5.4 inch screen= too small. Never knew .1 inches mattered this much to people .
Watching this on my SE (version 1) waiting for my 13 mini to arrive,
Yes. Compact is what I need.
hate large phones for in my pocket at work brrrr. Watching content is fine on this size for me.
Update. I love my 13 mini, battery last all day for me ez
I have an android phone, do you recommend this one for the big change to iOS ??
I still love my iPhone 13 mini
Such a chilled out review, good stuff!
