Great video...I think you are on the right "track" with the half-track idea. I can imagine a German vehicle being taken out by a squad of U.S. troops. Afterward the troops would stop long enough to search the wreckage for intelligence information and to possibly verify body count. They take the opportunity to eat a k-ration and pick up a sweet SS bayonet or 9mm Pistol as a souvenir...then something interrupted the moment causing them to quickly flee the scene. A single bayonet, not on a belt. Unfired 9mm stripper clips dropped on the ground. Vehicle parts, possibly a spare set of bearings with the threaded compression ring and a spare track pad. U.S. bazooka rocket parts. U.S. food ration paper, buried to help hide the troop numbers. In their haste someone dropped their U.S. fork. I think you were at the epicenter of an event. I would encourage you to make a plan and go back to that site. Also, after treating the leather on the scabbard you can re-stitch it using the same holes. Many of the preserved leather pieces I saw can be reassembled this way. It is also a good time to make measurements of the leather parts for making replacement and replicas. GREAT VIDEO!!!

The aluminium brush looks like one, used for applying shaving cream in World War One.
This also explains the random tubes you found nearby, probably also for shaving.

Ok, I love the Steyr Hahn 1912. When I saw the stripper clip I knew immediately what it was. The bullets looked too small to be a rifle round and no other gun feeds with 8 round stripper clips. And I knew what is was the second you said "9mm but a bit taller." The treason being that the measurements of the bullet is 9x23 Steyr. If you didn't know, what you found is EXTREMELY rare. I mean, beyond rare. That is an incredible find!

First i thought it was only the frog, then i was like, OH YEAH the scabbard is still on it.. then it was complete.. and it even was a Waffen SS Bayonet!!
Too bad i can't dig more signals there because of a wasp nest.. i went back and i had i great signal.. guess what.. the wasps made a nest right where that signal is!
So a lot of wasps came out of the hole, and we needed to run really fast!
But my day will come... i will be back!

Mauser c96 was chambered to 9mm cartridge already during ww1, they continued to manufacture those examples after the war in Germany and elsewhere from 1920s to late 1930s.
To tell them apart from the standard 7,63 examples, the 9mm ones got a big "9" carved onto the grips and the number painted red, thus they were titled "red 9s". You see them for sale sometimes in gun shows.

You sir... are an intelligent person!
A lot of people don't understand videos like this one.. they think if you find or collect German WWII items, you are a Nazi..
Yes, i love that SS bayonet.. but i do not like what the SS did!
It's about the history.. and then it's beautiful to find something like this.
I don't think there is a chance to find out who's bayonet it was..
It would be cool if there is a name on it.. but that would be really rare.
I hope i can get it out of the scabbard some day!
Thank you for the compliments and subscribing!!

Concerning the 1917 long German cartridge with the top looking strange. During WWI, both sides had in place steel, or iron "sniper boxes." The sniper's gun fit through, with a small hole to aim through. Soldier's , on both sides would remove the bullets and turn them around, place them back in the cartridge, and fire them at the metal boxes. This is because the flat end of the bullet would be less likely to just bounce off, and would scatter on impact blinding the sniper's shooting eye.

I know what you mean indeed, really interesting!
But this one was bend sideways, so most likely used to start a fire.
      Thanks for your comment!!

The maker mark and code on the bayonet along with the serial number is probably gone but would be interesting to see if it's still there. Probably issued around the time that SS man was issued his rifle (many gewehr 98 rifles we're reworked into model 98k's for the SS starting around 36 and ending in 1940-very early 41)

9:35 That's a beard brush, im pretty sure. I found a brush like that in my great-grandfather's room who was a WW2 veteran. And the family said it was a beard brush.

Zeer mooie vondsten man.

You should go to the seigfried line near the Ardenne because I know there was a lot of fighting in the Forrest at the seigfried Line, you could find guns, ammo and maybe grenades!

I've been near the siegfried line, it's a really interesting place, i actually don't live too far away from it :)
I find grenades pretty often.. really dangerous, so always have to be careful!

I have a K-98 that came off a tank in Africa.
A K-98 bayonet give them to me my one of my grandfathers. sadly someone went through a lot of effort to remove all the eagles off both the bayonet and the case but made it look good.
A ammo can with a full belt of French machine gun ammo.
Stamps with Hitler on them some uncirculated along with coins from Germany.
A few years ago got to work on a wartime Remington made 1911 45 cal pistol.
There is an airport near where I live it's where the P-47 Thunderbolts pilots got their training.
I'm thinking of going out there and look around. All growing up people rumored that there were tunnels out huge caches of weapons ammunition even vehicles.
Only 1 way to find out if they were right
