CHASKIS Yeah I was late to the party. Word is they are moving it to September or next year? Idk but I’ve been following the Facebook page for updates. Have a good ride either way and keep training. Keep doing your thing, dig the channel.

Good choice of equipment for DK200. I like your old school approach and the steel frame. (I’ll have a carbon frame.) I also prefer the 2x but it’s really the rider’s choice. Your other points are spot-on. We’ll have fun hitting the flint hills!!

Hey David! thanks so much for your words, I appreciate them. Yeah, I imagine switching to carbon, getting better wheels, etc in the future...there are so many upgrade options..you gotta prioritize the budget specially when you are a rookie lol! . Thanks for subscribing...looking forward to meeting you in September! Hugo

Hey Hugo, your videos popped into my recommendations a few weeks ago and I’ve been really enjoying them. I also have a Sequoia(2018) and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I know you can accomplish the DK200 with the bike as is and components are very personal. That being said the first thing i saved up for to replace and the thing that will make your DK experience much more enjoyable is a lighter/better quality wheel set(ran tubeless). A lighter wheel set transforms the Sequoia into a much better/much more enjoyable bike. I also really liked the saddle but, it fell apart with daily riding and ample precipatation and the material is pretty grabby on clothing(thinking of bibs/bike shorts pilling over time especially over long, long rides). Anywhoo, i look forward to watching more videos and your progress along the way. Thanks for putting in the effort and sharing with us!

Thanks for your words! I'm glad that you like your Sequoia, it's such a solid bike, and yes, you are right!...I could use better wheels, which I'll do eventually, hopefully sooner than later :) Thanks also for the tip about the saddle, I heard something similar when the Path Less Pedal channel did a review on the Sequoia a year ago, I'll keep an eye on it! Thanks again for stopping by! Hugo

I am confused between the drive. Should I be running 1x or 2x in front? Also would it matter if I have technical failures during the race?

Riding 1x or 2x is a matter of personal preference. I personally like to keep it simple. With one ring you shift less and could potentially be easier to deal with when having technical difficulties.
