I saw her perform this at the Euston Theatre in London and within the year I believe she died she was at least 80 then! When she sang the first note of this the power of her voice seemed to hit the back of my neck? On stage with hardly a break for about 2 hours...what a creative force she was..ty.
i was listening to some of her stuff earlier this evening and I just thought her voice would sound perfect for a Piaf coverr!!! - I'm so glad I found this and she actually did an Edith Piaf song
I was just listening to her song Am old fashioned girl and I thought to myself 'wow her voice would be perfect for La vie en rose' I had to do a search on a chance she did sing the song...and I was right! I love her
Brilliant interpretation. Edith would have loved it. And I like the way she pronounces the "r" sound: she sounds exactly like a cat. Proof that she was Catwoman.
There will never be another EARTHA..
So expressive in both her narration and her performance of the song. Beautiful Eartha Kitt..
She is such an icon!
She and Betty White blazed trails like none other💖🔥
What trails did Betty White blaze? I enjoyed her work for many years, but I don't know what you mean, or why so many agreed with you.
Bravo. Tout simplement fantastique ! Un grand honneur à Edith Piaf !!!! Merci à Eartha Kitt pour tant de beauté.

Her last performance was 2 months prior her death. She had advanced cancer, but still gave it all on stage!!! A force of nature she was.
Sie war unglaublich klasse und einmalig.
In narration and in song, Eartha Kitt professed the miracle that was Piaf! And yet, as ever, she made the song her own, as well. Such talent!

Same, I heard a tune where she had the exact same vibrato as Edith Piaf and went searching for this :)
Me too... I didn't know her do well and lustened to Xmas Songs. Her Santa Baby is so funny... and then I followed her tonight. Chapeau
