dont give up! from software knows how to make you feel accomplished and altho the game is hard there are so many options to do from the very start for that exact reason :)

The fact that we are going to die felt like crap at first but like you said, learn from your mistakes and you can overcome. I never realised how precise the hit ones were, moving around to simply avoid an attack without dodging is something I funnily enough didn’t even consider
More like you gotta study how fast the boss hits, the range of the boss attack, how often he hits, all his move sets while keeping in mind your roll range, your stamina, your attack speed and range, your distance from the target so you need to do math fast in your head and be a good problem solver to do this

Jesus its so in depth even versus the previous souls games, I came in from beating every souls game except bloodborne and this is hardddd these early weapons are not easy
Great video man, very informative. I had to look this up cause I was sure I was doing something wrong, as I died to this guy particularly, eeeh probably about 50 or more times (Probably even more... 0___0 ) I've never was able to make the rolls work to my advantage. I came from Bloodborne and this is nowhere near that same as I thought it would be. He always would hit me no matter what or how I did it, so I thought to just go from his back... Now that does work till he does he decides to do his heavy jump attack and that murdered me in one shot. I never thought to hit his shield side cause logically that should be the worst place to attack him in cause well, he has a big shield there and that should be the place that does the least amount of damage but it's good to know that's not the case lol. I fought this guy for about, sadly 8 hours off and on with no wins. Got close but when I did, it was almost like he knew and he was like "NOPE YOU DIE NOW!". So needless to say I was getting Maaaaad and really feeling crappy about myself that I couldn't figure it out on my own, so now here i am. It's pretty damn embarrassing I died that many times to this guy but oh well lol thanks for the great tips
If you're focusing on offensive spells, you should generally keep more range between you and the enemy while getting in as much damage as possible, and while doing that, rolling will be enough to avoid getting hit. You'd only need to focus on parrying/blocking if you need to get up close because you're mainly depending on a sword/shield.

How come every time I get close the horse body slams me from any direction then he hits me from any direction. It doesn’t matter that side of him I’m on, I die in 3-4 hits.
howd you get the carmera to stay on target I've been having problems where the carmera view is on my character everytime a dodge and the boss is off focus. how you make it 3rd person birds eye view
This doesn’t work for me. I die in 2 strikes from him. I use whatever to boost damage and roll right but he ends up back hitting me after a few times. This game is good but I don’t understand the combat. It’s laggy and doesn’t respond good.
@@xsxflipmodexsx you have to be closer to him and lock onto him and face the chest of the horse then dodge to his left. If you are anywhere close to his weapon side, even dodging to shield side will get you hurt. Always stay centred to horse then dodge late, his swing takes awhile to develop you need to be aware of that. And be closer to him like I am, you have to get underneath the weapon.

What are combos? It would be real nice if someone made a “ER Combat For Dummies” starters guide. My character feels slow and weak and I prefer to flee than to fight because none of it makes any sense to me!! 😡🤬
I’m pretty much a noob to Souls games, I gave up on DS3 on Switch really early cause I couldn’t even get the kick mechanic to work consistently on bog standard shield enemies, so I want to do better with Elden Ring as these kind of games give me life (whilst simultaneously seeing the ‘You Died’ screen far too often lol). This video is one of the best I’ve seen in my research quest so thanks and have a like and a subscription from me in return! Also, I’m like no. 69, that’s the funny number (sniggers childishly!)

Dont be too discourage. There’s pacing and such to this game. I suggest check out our beginner guide on how to make builds and then slowly level up before you start taking on bosses.

Ahhh you might as well just try focusing on the things you like in the game to make you money worth it. There’s so many things to discover in the world whether that be exploration, lore, collecting items, or combat. Hopefully you find some part of it fun

How do you parry or block when you are wielding a faith/spell caster item in your off hand? Atm my only defence is roll.

Did you lock onto the boss with the white dot like I had in the video ?
I’m with this guy. Every time he swings I get damaged. Even if I’m not hit directly

Starting moving right before you dodge right. Don't stand still to dodge
