You're so amazing for speaking up and advocating for more diversity in textbooks!! I am starting NYU ABSN in the fall after watching some of your videos during the admissions process and will definitely also keep my eyes out for this to continue the conversation
I scoured the internet for info the NYU accelerated program as I narrowed my list to NYU, Pace, SUNY-Downstate. nothing on reddit and then I find you. whew lord lolol so glad to find it before I apply this fall for Spring 2025. I got my BS in Bio back in Ohio. So glad to get this insight!!!! I have GIBILL from the military so I wasn't concerned about cost but the overall program, quality, and student experience!! Sidenote, girl I got that same skyline photo from Chelsea Market a couple years ago. love it lol
I’m currently in the process of getting my bachelors in psych then I will be doing an accelerated nursing program to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Thank you so much for these videos. This is my dream school
Girl I’m so glad I came across your channel!! I am a newly accepted nursing student to accelerated program and I’m also a Model and I’ve been conflicted on if I could do both and here you are doing exactly that !! 😍😍😍💗🙏🏾
wow wow wow..beautifully spoken! i am in the same situation where i withdrew from a terrible nursing school and now am at an amazing one. and it really is scary bc when i was in that old school i genuinely thought 'i can never be a nurse this is too hard for me, im not smart enough." then i came to the new school and its completely different and student centered. they are not money hungry and the professors arent out to get you. i have watched my bf and my friends become nurses in this new program and they complain about it but im like you guys have no idea just how terrible a school can be! literally after i withdrew from my old program my friend got kicked out AFTER she had an A in fundamentals but got an 85 on the med math due to a rounding error!! the professor had 0 to say to her and she was one of the few people with an A in his class it was terrible.
I’m so sorry that happened to you !! That’s horrible, I hate that some programs really make students feel alone and like they will never be an RN. I’m so glad you overcame 💜
Thank you for the helpful information. I’m starting at NYU Meyers accelerated program this Fall. It’s great to hear from an actual student about their experience.
I was highkey stressing out about the tuition that it made me less excited about starting the program. But after watching this, it made me so excited to start. God bless you for this video! I'll definitely be subscribing t your channel!
Hi Ashley, thank you for being so informative and open about your experience! I got accepted into it and am contemplating saying yes because of the hefty tuition.. but your videos are so helpful, especially this one to see a pro and con list! Thank you 💕👩🏻⚕️ and congratulations on your job! 🩺
hahahah the YSL bag example...iykyk. Thank you, this (actually all of your video's) was so super helpful I am getting everything ready and I will be applying for the upcoming accelerated program in the Spring. Good luck in the field!!! :)
you can graduate from the top Universities in the country like NYU, Stanford, Duke etc… With your BSN and pay $50,000 - $70,000 in tuition and of course those are all amazing schools. However, with that being said a New Grad from NYU and a new grad with an ADN from the local community college will more than likely be making the same amount of money, especially if you are working at a Unionized hospital. The main advantage of getting a degree from a prestigious school would be the networking and that if you get a law degree, Medical school, political science, engineering or computer science degree. Other than that, with a degree like nursing, doesn’t matter where you get your degree from, you are just paying x3 the price. I am in Northern California where the nursing pay is very high, new grads starting at $65-$75 an hour with nurses that only have an associates.
girl where’d you go previously, medgar? b/c… it’s giving lol (i’m currently a student there 🫠😂) &&& the bag reference sent meee lol b/c that’s exactly what i based my decision on. would i buy the luxury or the knockoff. thank you for your video, it was like you were in my head. ❤❤❤
hi Ashely, thank you so much for these videos - so informative! I am interested in applying to this program and my first step is to take 2-3 pre-reqs that I didn't have prior, I wanted to know where you took your pre-requisites if you had to take any (I know you came from another nursing school) or if you have any recommendations of where I can take them. thank you!
loved this video! is there a way to find out what a nursing program is like? like how you mention your 1st nursing program was just NOT it+ money hungry, but nyu was better in actually having you know what/why you were learning?
Honestly the only way to really know is doing a lot of research and reading reviews and seeking out ppl who went to the program. And even then, everyone has their own bias opinion so you only really know once you start if it’s for you sadly but it’s best to try to gather as much evidence prior if you can 💜
Hey Ashley, nice video! I wanted to ask it being an accelerated program, how many exams/quizzes did you have to do per week? Also was the exams or quizzes multiple choice or short answers or a mix of both?
Did you dorm/have an apartment in the city or did you commute (if you live close by)? Do you think if someone commutes about an hour by bus would have trouble finding time to study by the time the school day ends? Tyia 😊
Nclex exam won't be a problem if you work with someone like Mrs Josephine....she's God sent, she saved me form talking the exam for the 6th time You can contact her
Hi Ashley! I've been watching you since before I even got into the program! Last sequence, I got a C in A&E 2 and it dropped my GPA from a 3.4 to a 3.1. Do you have any tips/tricks ANYTHING to help me get back to what my GPA was this semester?? I'm expecting A&E 3 to be sooo much harder and I would need A-/As to get back up to 3.4. Please help!!
Hi Ashley. I have been watching your journey for a while now. I must say I am really proud of you. I am currently in my first sequence at NYU accelerated program as well and watching your videos have definitely helped. Seeing your journey definitely gives me reassurance that I can definitely do this so thank you for always sharing and being so honest. My only question is, Can you do a video on what your note taking and study strategies were ? Thanks in advance Ashley.
Hello! My name is Kendall. I am applying to NYU’s ABSN program this September. I wanted to ask if you don’t mind sharing if you had any volunteer hours you listed, or any medical certifications you had prior to make you application more competitive? Thanks 💕
Hi dear! I didn’t really have too much medical volunteer experience or medical certifications lol. I had some local community volunteer hours and that was about it. I had 3 reference recommendations though 💕
You are a doll! OMG! And how are you assimilating in the work place? I wanna know. There are many nurses who come from predominantly their race schools and do not because they have not learned how to adapt and accept different cultures and are very abrasive even when saying nothing. Many are in leadership roles and look for error. How are you assimilating?

I actually finished all my perquisites for nursing school and I am considering NYU as an option.
Don’t forgot about the loan aspect
Congrats for finishing your pre reqs 💜
@@quelquun2018 what about the loan aspect?

Hei Grace, u so pretty. I have a question, So if you get some classes already, does it reduce the the cost of the tuition?
The nclex test is really frustrating,I can't believe I failed again after studying so much 🙃😪😭😭😭
Well I have taken the exam for the seventh time now still didn't succeed,I wonder how those who succeeded did it
You will pass everyone has their own season, just keep praying and believe you will receive
I used some Uworld, some Remar, and read a lil saunders.i did 3 nurse achieve exams and my result came back failed
Nclex exam won't be a problem if you work with someone like Mrs Josephine....she's God sent, she saved me form talking the exam for the 6th time You can contact her
I was lucky to meet Mrs Josephine only God knows l wouldn't have succeeded without her
this was really thorough! thank you so much
