Jimi holds a special place in my heart. The first time I did hallucinogenic drugs I was listening to this album. It was 1970 and I was 18 years old. What a beautiful trip!😎👵🏼💙✌🏼
Thanks for the shout out dear! 😅loving your reactions ❤️
lol i never did but i bet it was a crazy ride 🤣😭
Yes, good album for tripping :)
Me and my girl were on Brown Owsley when we experienced Jimi live in 1970! 😵💫
the guitar was just like a part of Jimi... it just was a natural extension
Thats deep i agree 🙌❤
🙏 this is Jimmy’s cover of Bob Dylan’s tune
Oh I thought this was an original 🙌❤
@@stillmrdoge Dylan‘s version is kind of subdued and laid-back. Jimmy on the other hand, took her to a whole Nother level!
It’s reported that Dylan said it was Jimmy’s song now and he couldn’t play it anymore.
@@michaelnorfolk22 , kind of, but no....with about a 2 , or 3 one-off exceptions dylan didnt play live from mid-1966 to 1974, but when he started playing shows again he & his band(s) pretty much always played watchtower....(actually when watchtower was written & released it was in early 1968, in the non-touring years), but when he started doing shows again, watchtower was often in the setlist over the decades, but they only ever played it in a hard rock way ....what he did say was that the hendrix version made more sense to him, to play it as a rock song instead of a mellow little folk song, & that hendrix changed his viewpoint on the whole song, & it was almost said in a way to honor jimi's memory, & bob only played it in a rock way ever since....bob loved jimi....jimi also covered "drifters escape" from the same 1968 album & "like a rolling stone" from 1965...anyway, many people covered bob's songs in the 60's, & usually bob never had much to say, not with jimi tho, bob always loved hendrix.
You do know this song was written by Bob Dylan, right? But Jimmy definitely made it iconic. Bob wrote SO MANY songs that are a part of our life through other artists.
No I didn't know well amazing I will have to check out Bob. Do you have any particular song for him you like?
@@stillmrdoge there are so many. Wiki Bob Dylan. But one of his many iconic songs/video is "Subterranean Homesick Blues". It's a short song. Many of his are long. Like "Hurricane" based on a true story about a boxer. Bob is probably the most deep dive possible in music. So many artists have used his songs...
Nobody had played like this before. He influenced the music for decades. Dylan's lyrics were covered by Hendrix shortly after the release. And Dylan preferred Hendrix arrangement! For me the lyrics and Hendrix guitar is still as mystic as it was back then, more than 50 years ago! Hendrix led me to Jethro Tull. And from Tull to the UK prog music. And I am still on that tour, picking up gems from each decade since.
One of the greatest songs ever--because of what Jimi did with it!! Now, listen to the studio version of Red House! (Jimi's dad's favorite Jimi tune.) You will hear an amazing song.
All right more Jimi Hendrix, this is what I've been waiting for, I Love Jimi Hendrix woooooooo, oh so now you're against left-handed people huh, lol lol, I love this opening, if I remember correctly I think he's singing about the Vietnam war the confusion of it, 🕯️🕯️🕯️, the wa wa lol lol, I don't know what it is but it's awesome, I see why people in the 60s and 70s like this, after they do a little something then they get the psychedelic going on and they stary freaking out, lol lol, oh the guitar awesome, wow, that was way too short, princess peach lol lol, you're killing me on the Wa wa, lol lol, thank you another great pick wonderful.
The vivd imagery is all Bob Dylan's!
Amazing ❤🙌
Bob Dylan wrote this and Jimi was a huge Dylan fan. No songwriter, ever, put images in your mind the way Dylan does.
Oh man I need to check him out then. What song do you like by him?
I had the honor of being in Jimi's presence at Atlanta Pop on July 4th, 1970. He played Star Spangled Banner for us. The broad tan guitar strap that he used that night had lighter colored "X"s sewn into it. That very same strap is now worn by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd for most of his concerts. I hitch hiked to Atlanta with a beautiful young lady. Especially for Sharon Pate, we did the Brown Owsley that night. 😵💫What a wonderful memory of youth and freedom. I was 20 at the time. Wasn't it GREAT back then!!!
All Hendrix music is Fire. Nice choice nice reaction. Yes wa wa. PEACE
lol thanks so much for always showing love 🙌🌹
Thanks for the shoutout, fun surprise!! Also thanks for continuing to go down the Jimi Hendrix rabbit hole, he's amazing. Great reaction!
I love your laugh. It's an excellent expression of your enthusiasm and delight.
I'm glad that you love all music, as I do as well.
Thanks so much for the love, is there a specific song you want me to react to? I'll give you a shoutout
@@stillmrdoge cross town traffic.
I think this is the best music from Jimi. I'm glad I grew up with this fantastic music. 🎶🎶🎶👍
A Bob Dylan tune from his John Wesley Harding LP. Jimi owned it, and Dylan acknowledged it.
Respect to that. ❤️🙏
"All Along the Watcher", recorded by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, featured the late Noel Redding, bass guitar, and the late, great Mitch Mitchell, drums.
Man im so glad i bought my kidsup 2 a wide range of music
Jimi and the experience wr me fav wen i was 15. Im now 49 yr old woman
.can i suggest
Led zeppelin
Man they arre killer !!
There was two great guitarists playing, Jimi on electric and Dave Mason on acoustic. The lyrics are pure Bob Dylan, he felt Jimi raised the level of the song with his playing. Of course the rhythm section rocks out.
2000 subs right around the corner🎉😊👍🎸
Damn straight woo hoo, 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Jimi could do amazing things with the guitar! I always thought this was his best song!
Ahhh... A big part of the soundtrack of the Vietnam War ❤️ I like Jimi's rendition much better than the original by Dylan.
🙌 seems i need to check out the original
Ahh i never get tired of seeing pretty much the exact same reaction anytime someone hears this for the first time haha awesome
Original Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green worth checking out, he was another great guitarist from that late 60s period..
There are songs that can take me back to a certain point and time of my life. There are songs that can take me back to a specific moment and memory. This is the latter. My bestie and I hanging out in my basement. We had just had some colorful microdot (iykyk), lit an incense, turned on the blacklight and was spinning some Jimi on the Marantz! What a long strange trip it's been (again, iykyk) ✌ ❤✌
Some of the best lyrics I've ever heard are in this song.
"Outside in the cold distance... a wildcat did growl...Two riders were approaching...and the wind began to howl."
Just picture that scene in your mind.
Sound like a medieval movie scene
you are aware that is a cover of Bob Dylan song for whom Jimi had massive respect. If you want to hear best ever live (in my opinion) then 'Hear my train a comin' 12min version. make sure to be in the right state of the mind
@@samo1kralj yes, I'm aware of that. I'm 60 years old. I'm highlighting the lyrics, not the writer.
Its genius!
That's it

Hey Joe - Jimi 🤘🏽
Check out "foxy lady"
Baddest electric cat of them all..
Ah yes, a member of the 27 club ! There is another fascinating rabbit hole for you to go down !!!!! Janis Joplin next ?
Lovin' what you're doing here !
Can’t like a video that pauses one of the greatest guitar solos of all time!
Jimi would play with his teeth but never his tongue. But he had on many occasions made it look like he was using his tongue.
Could you play a hit song of Hendrix called "Fire" Great song.
Get hip to the original by Dylan. Jimi upped it to such a level that when Dylan did it live he changed the arrangement to sound like Jimi's .ruclips.net/video/jff6pZJvrWk/видео.htmlsi=6snUevgKmvDgKyrQ
No jimi was kak handed he played his guitar left handed and upsidedown man
He also only recorded all his shit 4 2years
I believe he was killed. He was apowerfull blackman such a Beautiful stunning soul
I feel a deep conection 2 him and hav dreamed of him several times during.my life
X
Damn I see. Also thanks for the insight
@@stillmrdoge oops sorry didn't mean 2 come across so abruptly
Lol😂 . Thanks just found u . Enjoy u heaps
This is my first time visiting your channel and I LOVED your reaction. I heard you talking about the guitar rips and you have GOT to listen to the guitar duel from the movie Crossroads. Steve Vai is a legend and this duel has become iconic. ruclips.net/video/CqdL36VKbMQ/видео.html This video shows the duel from slow to OMGGGGGGG.
If you haven't seen the show, an old man sold his soul to the devil to become a famous Blues player. He meets and travels with a kid who fights the duel to win the old man's soul back from the Devil.
One of the 27 club. No they didn’t kill themselves or accidentally die. They were all murked. Royalties! Worth more dead than alive.
Doesn't your hat muffle the sound from your headphones?
Someone told me this song is about Jehova's Witnesses going in twos door to door trying to convert people to their religion, and handing out their pamphlets entitled, "The Watchtower". The women were often barefooted. Whaddya think?
I think not lol...✌️💞
@@starfire6122 I know it sounds crazy right? Right.
Never heard Hendrix?
Is that you telling us you've been in prison for all your life, without telling us you've been in prison for all your life? Or a coma maybe? Or you just landed on Earth maybe? Ohh. I know, you're Amish and never seen a radio before, right?
