Yes they can handle it no problem, some things to Look out for with vbrakes; brake pads getting loose or installed improperly, a bent wheel, a wet or dirty rim can all prevent the brakes from performing properly. I would definitely have your bicycle checked out by your local bike shop and make sure she’s good to go if you feel that your brakes are having issues.

I have this bike but when i search on giants website it says the only version is 2022 not 2021...
