Idk if there's much of a discussion to be had, of course both Dr Mike and Janicki's options are great. What am I supposed to do, argue bosu ball squats are superior?
@@lawrencebywater2112 the only thing I might be able to point out is if you have a dip belt you can use that for "belt squats", looping a dumbbell through or a plate if you can find somewhere elevated enough to squat. It's certainly not the same, and I'm not the biggest fan but it does ok as either a pre-fatigue or post workout method.
Hi , I've been taking creatine for 4 months . I've put on just over and inch on my squads in take time . My calves have grown as well . My legs have really grown from using creatine and leg exercises . I'm nearly 60 years old . Creatine really is a great supplement and I have enjoyed how I feel . My muscles in my legs are just solid when I squeeze my leg muscles . It feel great . 👍
Me personally picking Erick’s because I have to implement that for myself personally I have a lower back injury and I cannot do a ton of stuff legged deadlifts I still implement them cause it’s an amazing move but I think Erick’s list is more convenient and able to progress for me
With you explaining more why you lean forward on the seated hamstring machine I will not try this on my next workout. I will probably have to lower the weight but if I can get the max stretch and work myself harder it will be worth it. I pick you list, Eric, because my gym does not have the belt machine. lol.
I’ve recently been doing Smith Machine Bulgarian Split Squats, and they’ve been great. However I haven’t been elevating my front foot, so I’ll give that a try next session.
Well I think both routines are great. I think I would go with Eric's just because, like he mentioned, I too have never seen that belt squat machine at any gym I've ever been to. Which is too bad cuz it looks pretty sweet.
I preferred Eric's selection. What are the best leg exercises with dumbbells and kettlebells? I got 25% body fat and about 90% of that are from my legs.
I prefer Eric's recommendations simply because almost any gym will have an incline leg press machine and it's a very effective all around leg exercise you can safely push to failure.
I can only speak from personal experience that deep leg pressing f'ed up my knees quite badly, though i have 20 plus years experience lifting and was quite careful with loading, speed and progression. One should be extra careful
It could be a structural thing for you. Deep knee leg presses work really well for me. Barbell Squats, on the other hand for me, I swear just don’t work with my body. I can’t even get low in the right position. Hurts my knees, hips everything.
Both lists are great. I'll give the slight edge to Dr. Mike's. I absolutely love Belt Squats even though I can only use them a few times a year. Eric's list is gold though. I love the Leg Press. Not as fatiguing as high bar squats. 💪
Also I tried the deep stretch leg press bro is right. My legs legit went numb. Especially when u push with ur heels u felt it crazy in the hamstrings✌🏾
Been following these from Dr Mike and Eric for 6 weeks and made some serious adjustments to my technique with excellent results all round. On the leg press I have noticed great results. Question - I have serious knee challenges with the left patellar tendon being re-attached and the right quad with some tearing and scarring (both as a result of a squat incident in 2019). Keen to try the lunge/split squat. Should I wrap or brace or just stay away and leg press some more? Knees feel a bit tender even after just body-weight hams-to-calf squats.
I just wish they would have angled platforms on leg presses. Most people dont have the dorsiflexion to really get as low as they could and without a gym partner to throw 1 inch wedges or platform under your feet, your ankles limit ypu knee flexion more than anything
I might gow with Eric, though both are great, definitely prefer the leg curl, since it hits all of the hamstrings and I can hit all the other muscles from the SLDL with squat type movements
My three are the same as Dr. Mike's - He must have heard of mine. Anyway, I do not have a belt squat machine, so I have the weight on the shoulders, but I stick to going down quick low.
Great lists!! I don’t have a leg press or belt squat at home but I have a smith machine. What is the best quad exercise on that? I like front squat but it’s pretty CNS taxing
I’ll pick the belt squat , Bulgarian split and the back hyper..sorry bro- I have the squatmax md and is literally great in my garage! Everyone should at least try this
I always thought there was a difference between rdl and stiff legged deadlifts. I thought rdl’s had more of a bent knee/ hip hinge and hit more glute than stiff legged deadlifts do if anybody can elaborate?
yeah kinda, but you could also argue that that's the same exercise with just a bit of dirfferent execution. If you wanna maximize hamstring stretch you wanna keep the knees as straight as possible.
I like Mike's, but I think from a beginners standpoint, Janicki's is better. Before even viewing this video, I used the same exact formula to grow my legs, and it has worked wonders. I was highly surprised to see that someone as huge as he is using similar techniques. Of course, both would get the job done. The bottom line is advance lifters should go with Mike's and beginners should stick with Janicki's imo
Is this the guy who did who was absolutely horrible when they did a video with Mike and Jarrod where he could not to a controlled rep or slow esentric to save his life or was that someone else?
@ericjanickifitness yeah I'm sorry bro I looked up on RUclips and realised it wasn't you. You were the opposite where everything was perfection. Who was the massive dude you did everything sith sich poor form? It was a hard watch???
That Smith elevated lunge is yhe absolute worst exercise of them all. The fatigue starts after the first rep and you have to fight yourself to get through a set.
Most underrated for legs, Bench press
Cycling and holding it in when u need to use the washroom
Skipping Legs harder than last time
Actually funny joke! Just like turkesterone
nah pullups better then bench press for legs
Great points. That belt machine is amazing but never seen one in my country. The tip for leaning forward on the hamstring chair is gold.
Idk if there's much of a discussion to be had, of course both Dr Mike and Janicki's options are great. What am I supposed to do, argue bosu ball squats are superior?
😂
I guess next leg day i'm frying my brains cells with some bench press
Bench press?
@@danciomacome8230yep 👍 because of the leg drive
Dr. Mike's leg routine is my fav.
Would love to know if there’s belt squat alternative you can do in a less well equipped gym

Both lists are great. Eric's list can be found at most gyms
I like Dr. Mike’s list better, but I also like Eric’s list because it’s more likely I can find those machines at a local gym.
traditional high-bar squat w/wedge, blasts my legs
Nothing hurts my legs more than this. Especially high reps with pauses to go again
Eric's list is literally my Monday Workout at the moment. There's just one more exercise for the calves. Calf Raises on the leg press to be precise.
Yo, that thumbnail nuts, man
Literally. You can see his nuts.
This is awesome. Do this as a series. Amazing content.
The Thumbnail Is Wild😮
Anyone Who Have Noticed The Similarity Between Dr. Mike's Face and The Emoji
Yeah this one is outta pocket
Great video. Can't wait for more like it. I don't have a belt squat at my gym. So for this I'll choose leg press option

Why’s no one talking about that thumbnail? Janicki’s walking around with a third leg

MORE MIKE AND ERIC PLEASE

Leaning with dr Mike here but I do love that unique Bulgarian split squat
1. Seated Hamstring Curl
2. Leg Press
3. Pendulum Squat
Eric's list and tips are more unique and usefil
Y’all need to do a leg day together
They habe
Sheesh, that Bulgarian Squat variation is interesting. I will try this on Saturday for leg day!
Nice, my gym just got the beltsquat few weeks ago. been doing it and it feels great.
Well I think both routines are great. I think I would go with Eric's just because, like he mentioned, I too have never seen that belt squat machine at any gym I've ever been to. Which is too bad cuz it looks pretty sweet.
I’ve never heard of the front foot elevated smith lunges. So I just did the movement with no weights. No need for tomorrow’s leg day session 😅
I preferred Eric's selection. What are the best leg exercises with dumbbells and kettlebells? I got 25% body fat and about 90% of that are from my legs.

I do the same thing on seated leg curls to get a long stretch. I feel like knee flexion is superior to hip hinging for hamstring focus.
Shoutout to whoever made those chairs .
1. Bulgarian split squat
2. Romanian deadlift
3. Nordic curl
Going geographic
Deadlifts are literally an F tier exercise as far as hypertrophy is concerned though.
I can only speak from personal experience that deep leg pressing f'ed up my knees quite badly, though i have 20 plus years experience lifting and was quite careful with loading, speed and progression. One should be extra careful
I rhink that was very specificaly a problem for you. That can happen in any exercise
It could be a structural thing for you. Deep knee leg presses work really well for me.
Barbell Squats, on the other hand for me, I swear just don’t work with my body. I can’t even get low in the right position. Hurts my knees, hips everything.
I'm rocking with your list Eric, love those exercises for this purpose (Dr. Mike is my goat)
i think i like a combination of both, i need to try the belt squats been wanting to try them
Absolutely great options here, love it!
Both are great but for me Eric's stuff works better. I love the leg press.
Wow Erics channel has really blown up.. there was only 12 or 20k when I joined after his appearances on Greg's channel.
I would choose Eric list just because I could do it at the gym. I would try Doc Mike list if I had access to the belt squat.
I can feel the dieting energy in this one 🤣
Belt squat looks great - have to give it a shot.
A hidden benefit of deficit bulgarians is stretch of hipflexors.
I pick Erik’s purley cause every gym will have those. Belted squats is so tricky to find in the majority of gyms.
Only problem with either list is alot of gyms(especially mine) not equipped yet with hip belt squat device
Personally, I would pick you both! Since I train Legs twice a week I would do all of those just not on the same day.
Eric you da man!
Eric’s leg workout is my favorite
Both lists are great. I'll give the slight edge to Dr. Mike's. I absolutely love Belt Squats even though I can only use them a few times a year. Eric's list is gold though. I love the Leg Press. Not as fatiguing as high bar squats. 💪
I'd say hack squat, RDL, smith machine deficit lunge. But I've never used a belt squat or pendulum squat because I've never had the chance.
Outstanding Eric ❤😊
I read it as Best 3rd Leg Exercises at first.
Also I tried the deep stretch leg press bro is right. My legs legit went numb. Especially when u push with ur heels u felt it crazy in the hamstrings✌🏾

What do you guys think about Charles Glass’ take on bodybuilding and his methods of working out?
Belt squat collects dust at golds gym lol im always using it

Split squats, reverse lunge and notdics

Eric's glutes are worked out perfectly 👌
Just a thought maybe legs on machines normal gyms have! I need to find a gym with these machines Dr Mike is talking about.
Thoughts on the glute ham raise?
Does anyone know if there are major differences between the elevated unilateral exercises they each chose?
Great video
neither! or both
leg press (because I don't have access to a belt squat)
rdl
bulgarian split squat (which I hate)
Why aren’t any of you listing back squat?
Nice doing all these already
Legs that could replace coloumns at St. Peter's basilica
