All i see is a humble man who doesnt know english and has done everything he could to improve in his craft, even if his technique was wrong and caused him injuries. Its amazing to see someone taking the time to teach him instead of mocking him and guide him while taking him serious, i think most translators have a hard time showing how much of a humble person he really is, i have nothing but respect for you both and i hope you can keep guiding him! • @jimboneutron8399

Same here. Its been almost 9 years for me. In high school i was a very strong powerlifter. The last meet i did i was at 630 lb squat, 550 lb dead lift, and 415 lb bench. I tried to continue after i graduated but i think the lack of competition demotivated me. I used to sit there and study the stats of people i have to beat and since my deadlift was weak i would find the difference in my other lifts. I really enjoyed the competition of it. So it was really difficult to keep it going after. I realize i could have competed outside of school but i went straight to trade school after graduation and went straight to the workforce after that so i rarely had time for the gym. But now i miss it so much and these vids are waking me up a bit and making me want to bend some more bars. The hardest part is starting back at square one, the few times i tried to go back i felt so weak and it wasn’t the same. But i understand its going to take time to get back to where i was. I wish i never stopped. With a head start like being in the 600s in highschool i lord knows where i could be today. I could have been squatting 1000 right now lol. I think i proved i have good genetics if i went from bar weight to 600s in 4 years lol.

First of all thumbs up! genuine video and high quality content!
as Larry said, it is really important to open up the hip to get proper squat depth. i worked on that with my clients by putting a mini loop band around the lower leg, about 1/3 over your ankle. then move your knees to the outside by squeezing the glute. to make sure your working your hip muscles while doing it, it is necessary to keep the whole foot on the ground by rooting your calcaneus, the ball of the foot and the base of the pinky toe (the foot tripod) into the ground.
when you know how to active the hip to hit proper depth a nice warm up would be to hold a weight infront of your body at shoulder height and get down to the deepest point of your squat, keep the tension on your muscles and hold the position for 10 seconds, then come up. this is a great exercise for squat specific hip mobility.
To get a feeling what proper bracing is you can lay on your back, put your feet on the ground, so your hips and knees are bend and your lower back has contact to the ground. now put a weight on your stomach, breathe into your diaphragm and squeeze your abs. if done correctly the weight should move towards the ceiling.

This is probably the best advert for Larry as a trainer it's possible to imagine. I'm not even looking for trainer and I want to hire him lol.
Bro is so clam, patient and positive throughout. With so much golden advice and simple cues to help improve.

Larry, bro. You're a legend. It's clear that El Campeon's previous forms and weight choices weren't ego but just coming from a need for education. You might have saved him from a terrible injury to himself or others. So admirable the way you're taking time to teach this guy who has showed big heart and humility cause he genuinely wants to compete and grow in the sport.
