I cant stand how english creative works as I think it actually does more damage to apiring writers than good. We are taught to throw as many techniques in as possible and an interesting and unique narrative with memorable charachters is sort of sidelined. The best stories are written out of passion, not a desire to fit a formula perfectly
I one hundred percent agree that the best works are made from passion, however the best writer write with passion and techniques all the time, the on,y difference is that they are so experienced that they do it subconsciously. If you look at your favourite authors texts, I’m sure you would fine a good deal of techniques.
@@lordexplosionmurder1760 he's not saying the techniques are the bad part he's saying how developing a character and a acually interesting and indepth narrative will get u 0 marks and to get a acually high grade u just have to roboticly fill out a formula with little to no creativity.
the trick is in the have to, but gcse is not writing is about a demo of how you applied learnt techniques. when you try to combine the two, lessons and creativity, very very very complicated indeed.
@@freyai some writers use it as an exercise of enrichissment. they add challenges to their writings. things, such as these instructions they need to add to their initial drafts. it is very good for the brain, it takes you where you would not go. very very interesting. and of course very frustrating since writing is building and imply much more than 45 min reflexion. you have to go back to your writing to fix it and balance it, ebb it and deepen it. i wrote a book with your name in the title: 'Freya deserts'.

Ma'am. I appreciate your hardwork and your clear understanding methods. Unfortunately I have my edexcel IGSCEs really approaching after 4 days and I have no time to prepare this new technique. It would have been even more better if you had uploaded this video one-two months before the final exam. I understand that there were other difficult topics than this one that were crucial to upload before the exam. Still I'll try my best to cope up with and follow your steps. Previously I have followed your 'PETER' formula for writing about the writer's effects. And believe me or not, it really helped me get out of hell! This type of question is absolutely challenging and it needs critical thinking which your video has taught me to do. You are actually a saviour! Certainly I will try my best to follow this creative step as well if I want to get a Grade 9 in English Language B In Shaa Allah. Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Would it be ok to write in first person, like using "I", or should I stick with third person presepective? Please tell which one is more preferred by examiners.
i watched a video by another examiner and she said it should be formal and u shouldnt use things like exclamation marks because she sees them as childish, idk tho
You can but make sure it's not cliched and predictable (ie. "and she woke up and found it was all a dream" / "suddenly everything around him went dark"). Avoid, avoid, avoid cliched cliffhangers

And how we are encouraged to not be that imaginative but to write a simple story that just takes away so much to what the story could of been
