To be fair Terri Hatcher just has a natural talent to bring levity to a script. I think she is quite unique. She walked a tight rope between drama and comedy like a badass on Desperate Housewives. And on Loise and Clark I think she stole the show and was responsible for making their relationship feel so deep and why we all love them so much. She really grounded that relationship.
She really did. I have heard other directors say that her comedic timing is perfect. Desperate Housewives DVD even has an entire special feature dedicated to her, I think on season 5 or 6?
Teri Hatcher is still my favourite Lois Lane, she has the acting talent and comedic chops to bring out any scene. Love her sarcastic turn of phrase anxiety rants! She was great as Penny Parker in MacGyver too!
These 2 absolutely nailed their characters...the BEST Clark Kent & Lois Lane E.V.E.R!!! ONLY 2 others that came this perfect was Tom Welling & Erica Durance 😉👍
Oh my gosh, yes. I rewatched Lois & Clark in December and just couldn't resist doing a Smallville rewatch as well right after (finishedlast week), cos Tom and Erica's chemistry are just phenomenal 💕
Teri is an incredible actress, this show was very well done but she was the masterpiece. The focus on Lois and Clark instead of superman with that changing slowly with the complexity of what it meant was brillant. I honest don't know why it ended because even the 4 season was amazing, it was a little more deeper and serious, I did think they hushed a little the baby story but even so their chemistry and the writting were on point for me. Glad to watch again, and till now Teri and Dean in comic cons are terrific, they just feed the fans love and it's great.
Oh man. I miss this version of Lois. Sassy, hilarious and just beautiful all together. Teri Hatcher was outstanding in the role. So nice to see other actors and celebrities in the series as well. Cory Everson, though! 😍
@@MaverickTangent Yes I know! 😊 I loved her in Hercules. It was actually the first time I ever saw her. That first episode she appeared in, Ares, was freaking awesome. What a woman! 😁
i always thought Teri Lois`s are the perfect one, untill i saw Erica performances as younger Lois these two are always my favorite incarnations of Lois
Same! I feel Erica Durance's version of Lois is the most relatable character on the show. The most human. But Teri Hatcher's comedic timing and ability to convey a character is almost perfect.

Chi of Steel is good. I liked the idea of Superman learning a different fighting style than just crazy farmboy haymakers, but that episode was largely focused on feminist issues, hence Lois's comment about her brain. Which, made me do a spit take when I first heard it. He also played a couple lines in the Superman Animated show.
I actually really liked Michael Landis and Cat Grant was good. They shift season 2 to focus more on Lois and Clark, but the episodes in season 1 that focus on Cat I think give her character more weight.
The first season of this show was great and Terry and Dean were amazing casting and had great chemistry , the SHOWS issues were when they failed to keep john Shay on as lex Luther , having him AS A REAL RECURRING THREAT in the next seasons of the show and the show keeping a more serious plot line would have kept people watching IMO .
Idk, that's tough. Especially looking back 30 years afterwards. TV back then was VERY different. Each season of the show DEFINITELY has a different feel, and I think season 1 and 2 were the 'best' but 3 and 4 have their strong suits, except for the episodes involving kids. Seasons 3 and 4 really get into Superman learning how to have a relationship, which if you look at it in that context they are better than people remember.
@@thenoirknight5729 Yeah, I would actually say that Seasons 3 and 4 are more for Clark, and Superman learning HOW to be in a relationship. Which is good, too. But a different feel.
Since we don't know yet how Rachel Brosnahan as the new Lois will measure up in my personal opinion Terri Hatcher is the second-best Lois Lane behind Erica Durance of course. I liked that Terri Lois evolved as more strong-willed her early take was too much like Margot Kidder who just yelled for help.
I was just talking with someone about this yesterday. An actress like Amy Adams or : shudder : Kate Bosworth has a reputation when they come to a role like Lois Lane, a character that fans also have perceptions of, so smaller name actresses can usually come into that type of role. Not that Hatch was a small name actress in 1992, but she was more like Tulloch back then as opposed to Amy Adams.
after a re-watch, or 2, its a REALLY good romcom, and a pretty good Superman show. If you take it in the context of the 1990s, I think it better than people remember. It got a little weird in Season 4. But when you look at Hercules or Xena, I think its more smartly written than those two shows from the same time frame. Its just that we have Smallville, and the renaissance that was the 2000s for serial TV, and it lacks compared to how tightly something like Buffy or Supernatural was written. Many of the same writers of LandC went on to do episodes of those shows. The Land C pilot is a Superman move. You could take the 4 episodes that bookend Seasons 3 and 4 and MAKE a Superman movie from them.
It was an excellent show, very well written and directed. The shoe had the perfect to tone for Lois e Clark, the comicbook inspirations. It was pretty complete and high quality.
The guy who plays Clark Kent/Superman is zero acting ability and no charisma. It's no surprise that he's had no career since this bad show ended. If you watch this clip without audio you can really see Teri Hatcher regretting her choice of career.

I also love how Clark and Carol's exchanges are polar opposites Clark is completely friendly while Carol can't stand the sight of Clark at all.
I kinda miss the '90s. Everything felt more genuine.
American society peaked, I believe, between 1997-2008 lol

Dean Cain was perfect for a TV Clark. His Supes needed work.
I think he did it on purpose. to give Superman more of a flat, professional, personality. because he was 2 different people.
