I don't know if Dean Cain or Tom Welling's Clark Kent is better, because I like them equally. But Teri Hatcher was/is definitely the BEST Lois Lane of all time! She's got the greatest personality and is also the most beautiful Lois Lane of them all!
They basically brought back the Lois of the early ‘40’s and made her even better. They were rivals for in the early comics. I loved that this Lois is so capable yet doesn’t have everything together.
Margot Kidder used to be my favourite Lois Lane. Then Teri Hatcher walked in. No actress since Teri Hatcher have matched her portal of Lois Lane on both tv and movie. Teri Hatcher is my favourite Lois Lane by far.
It started when I was seven and practically the story feels like it has just been written. It's such a clever composition of Superman's life and how he managed to live as Clark, so easy, having romance, a job, a family and finally the love of his life.
Also the showrunner (?) not being fully understanding of the comics but grasping the core concept is a win. People say superman is his identidy and clark is the disguise is wrong. Bruce wayne is the disguise and Batman is the perosn. But she got that when dean cain said " clark is who i am. Suoerman is what i can do", and that always stuck with me.
While the girls swoon and drooled over Dean Cain.... guys fell for the strong, independent, beautiful Teri Hatcher. We all watched their back and forth banter and loved it. People don't give this show enough credit for how different and innovative it was.
Yep and when I found out this how was going to be done, I was young and I was pissed. Made me realize at a young age how great shows are important to keep around. Because some of the crap I see today is just ughhhh....this show for me set the stage for me to appreciate Smallville a completely different show and other great shows of all types
The adventure part of the plot could be somewhat comic-bookie, but the conversations they had, as two serious adults, about the challenges of making a relationship work, were just stunningly real, unprecedented. Wonderful.
Thanks so much for uploading this! I was too tiny to watch the show when it first aired but when I discovered it later on I fell in love with it and those characters completely. Dean Cain will always be my favorite Clark Kent and Teri Hatcher my favorite Lois Lane.
I also love the idea that Lois and Clark don't realize yet they already love each other! that is so romantic, all the more interesting that Teri and Dean are very good actors. They were (still are) the best Lois Lane and Clark Kent ever!
I loved this series! I think it's been my favorite version of the Superman story. I loved the fact that Clark was who Superman really was and Superman was more of his alter-ego. I think that's the first time that was done.
I can't say I keep up with much Superman stuff outside of this show other than dabbling with the movies, but I love that they focus on Clark, it's what really makes the show. Clark is relatable and shows us his humanity instead of the god-ness of Superman so having him as the main focus instead of Superman is definitely the better way to do it imo.
Outside of the comics, yes it was the first time it was done (although the George Reeves TV series also spent a lot of time with Kal-El as Clark Kent). In the comics though, the emphasis on Clark as Kal-El’s primary identity had taken place nearly a decade before Lois & Clark aired with John Byrne’s Man of Steel miniseries, which brought the character of Superman into the modern era.
@@natf7942 Then you should watch Smallville! It focuses on a young Clark Kent, as he grows up from a teenager going through high school and battling his inner demons and how he reacts, when he first gets his superhuman powers, before he becomes Superman.
