Best line of the entire series: “Superman is what I can do. Clark Kent is who I am.” And the spinning move to change into Superman is a very nice, realistic touch to the character. Kudos to the writers for adding these to the series.
The spin looked good. The part about Clark choosing his Superman costume was different from the previous films/series. The suit has superpowers, so it was in his spaceship.
@deckgun31 To further quote the best line of the series: " Clark Kent, Kal-El, man of steel, the big blue boy scout, Man of tomorrow it honestly doesn't matter what you call him. He's still a kryptonian from another planet with superhuman abilities, who travels under the name the whole world would know him as Superman. "
Wow! memories...this one of the best shows to grace our TV in mid 90's.... totally loved it....all the way watched from Nairobi,Kenya....maybe we really need a SuperMan in the world today!!!
Once they worked out all the bugs with the Dean Cain Superman costume, the final suit he wore for the remainder of the series looked really good. I love the extra large Superman s Shield/ House of El symbol on his chest and I like the thickness and long length of his cape. Even the blue sections of his costume have a really great sheen to them and I love the darker blue color to the suit as well. Even though Dean Cain wasn’t the best Superman, he definitely looked formidable in full costume so he gets points just for that in my book! Back when this show was new, I never missed an episode. Lois and Clark was one of the few tv shows that we would watch as a whole family. Man oh man were those the good Ol days!
Compared to the Superman costumes used for the *Superboy* series just a few years earlier, the *Lois & Clark* Supersuits were all gigantic downgrades. The baggy burgundy boots that didn't match the rest of the outfit, the bizarre cross-stitched cloth belt with a rubber block buckle, the misshapen design of the House of El crest...Dean Cain got a raw deal in terms of the costume design. By all rights, his Superman costume should have been the next step forward after the Salkind era, and instead the poor guy looked like a cosplayer on a budget. I don't mind changes and modifications to the Superman costume -- I love the *Smallville Season 11* and Henry Cavill Supersuits, the New 52 suit was a cool-looking design, and the *Superman Returns* costume is beautiful when viewed in natural light instead of the bizarre sepia tones it was filmed in -- but whatever changes you make have to look good and have to make sense. Honestly, what *Lois & Clark* should have done was look to the better artists on the Superman books of the era -- Tom Grummett, Dan Jurgens, Kerry Gammill, Bob McLeod, George Perez, and Jerry Ordway -- and replicate one of those guys' renditions of the suit. Just duplicate it straight off the page. I think the end result would have looked a lot better. Dean Cain had a good look for Superman, but the costume department dropped the ball big time.
@@reidmason2551 I will admit that I didn’t like the super suit Dean Cain wore in the pilot episode or the first season of Lois and Clark. But I did think they eventually worked it all out and the suit he wore for the remainder of the series was fine. I liked how the S Shield/House of El Sigil was nice and large. I also liked the textured look of his cape and I thought the colors of the costume were nice and bright. I do agree that the cloth belt was a bit strange and I didn’t like how his boots didn’t match the color red of the rest of the costume. But overall it wasn’t a bad costume. I do agree that they should’ve gone above and beyond from what we got from the movies and the Superboy series.
I always loved how, in the last two seasons especially, his cape became more of the costume as well. It bellowed around him and made him look more… godly. To me, you’re either Edna Mode or full cape. Those mid-calf length capes Christopher Reeve had (RIP 💗) just look silly. I also loved how Dean spun into the costume in later episodes. So cool! Dean Cain was an awesome Superman who looked DAMN fine in that costume 😉
It wasn't bad but it showed a little too much neck and collarbone. It is comic accurate but the prototype outfit was closer...those boots were very disappointing
Loved this when I was a kid, now it just makes me laugh. The thunder sound when he rips open his shirt or he unbuttons the top 2 buttons and then rips his shirt off 🤣
Typically the Superman films, even going back to the Salkind/Reeve era, are darker and more intense. The emphasis is more on the stakes of the conflict. (The animated series was really dark and brutal, despite how bright and cheery its visual style was.) *Lois & Clark* was a comedy first and foremost, so seeing Clark goof off with his powers was in keeping with the tone they wanted.
Yeah but just because the films are darker and more intense doesn't mean there can't be brief scenes of Clark having fun with his powers. It helps give moments of levity to balance with the dark ones and helps to humanize Clark, showing his chill and friendly personality.
Hadn't thought about it, but that's probably why I love the seen in Man of Steel where Clark learns to fly. It's pure joy, for us seeing him (plus it looking SO good) as well as him that's smiling throughout the scene.

A wonderful little touch of humanity. That adds a level of realism and personality to the show that reminds us that he is the a middle Class reporter, son of farming folk, he's not rich. I'd be challenged that applique get just right too. Traditionally his costume was supposed come from the blankets he was wrapped in when he arrived on earth. In another scene early in the series ( first regular show) Lex Luther is choosing fabric for his suits.. the wools look like they would be 45-100 (probably much more in 2023!) dollars a yarn ... 'Lois & Clark' was one my top shows from the 90s, both leads had great chemistry together, Hatcher (still my favourite Lois Lane) had great comedic value too, surrounded by a great cast all round. Hello. Nice! 1993 was a great year for superhero shows. This year does mark the 30th anniversary of "Lo & Clark" *and* the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers." Keep up the good work and Happy New Year!
I remember it was broadcasting in #Telesistema11 in Dominican Republic every Sunday night, after it I was ready for going to sleep cuz next day I had school and my mom used to allow us to watching the episode before bed ❤❤❤❤
No, it certainly does not. I know people have a bias against anything CW makes, though to be completely false and claim this show is better in any way is completely misinformed. This show didn't even showcase his powers that well considered most of the time he flew, it looked like OBVIOUS wire work. Let's also not forget that his super speed was almost NEVER showcased. Or how about the many times Clark showed his powers to regular people yet they never used logic to guess he's superman. I know CW shows aren't the best Superhero shows today, though at least they make the powers believable.
7:47 I get why after all these years he didn't just stop at deadness tracks. He could very well do that. But the problem with having strength like Clarks is that he can't really gauge the weight of an object on earth that would seem impossible for a normal human to move or lift. It's a lot of guess work, so he has to have kid gloves on all the time. He needs to be mindful of his surroundings more so than others. As to how that applies to stopping a train, he has to take into consideration not only himself or the tracks beneath him, but the amount of force that he is applying to the front of the train. He has to cradle it, slowly match the amount of force applied in his direction and then increase it as the train decreases in speed. And there is also the matter of whether or not he can actually stop the train before it hits the wall in time. And lastly, what is the force that he's applying is tolerable enough for the occupants within the train to minimize injury and prevent death altogether. If you were just landed for the train and plant his feet on the ground like a rock, it would be catastrophic. In the first season of Smallville, Clark stops a bus by COLLIDING with it. The bus was stopped, but only because Clark had rammed the front so hard he went 5 feet into the front of the vehicle. And he only did that because the bus was unoccupied. If this version of Clark had the same thing, it results from numerous injuries, structural damage to the tunnel itself, and possible casualties. Both versions of Clark Kent and Superman are at different levels of understanding in their abilities. In the case of the "Lois and Clark" Superman, he may be in the second year of his superhero career, but he has had a lifetime of making these decisions.
No one has come close to topping Christopher Reeve as Superman and even Clark Kent. The man truly embodied the character through and through. R.I.P. Christopher Reeve will always be missed.
@@affanyussof4875 Dean Cain was good in the role but come on man, his portrayal of Superman wasn’t as deep, sincere, and charismatic as Christopher Reeve’s performance. Don’t get me wrong, I like Dean Cain as Superman but I just think Christopher Reeve took the character to another level that has yet to be matched.
Dean Cain is my favorite Superman next to Chris Reeves. I have all the seasons . And even made a private fan movie taken scenes and making it similar to the 78 movie. Dean Cain as Superman is awesome.
Remember watching this year's ago. Although I only think about it now , how they explained how the ' s' suit wasn't thought of first, but other costumes were thought of!
We don't get scenes where Clark & his mom try different costumes until we get the final one that will cement him as the hero & icon he becomes Dean Cain really brought depth & life to Clark/Superman. Not to mention we watch as Los & Clark's relationship blossoms from partnership to friendship to love plus we got a series where we see what made Lois the shark reporter she is. She's charming, witty, smart, feisty, sassy, charismatic, beautiful, independent, self sufficient yet vulnerable she is the ride or die Bonnie to Superman's Clyde (Without the killing).
There's a lot of backlash online these days about Dean Cain, due to some comments he's made recently and some of his political options. We shouldn't let that colour our opinions of this show. He did a great job and is very memorable in the role. Sure the show has dated, but that's the nature of things.
This show had such a _beautiful_ score.

I was just watching super VS batman and remembered this series back when I was 10,, days of glory,, old but gold
Martha, listen to him. Even Clark knows to appreciate Edna’s view on capes
that made me cry from laughter! haha
Agh stfu with that cringy edna memes! It's not funny in 2004 or now
I was looking for this comment. 😂 I kept thinking, "No capes!" 😂😂😂
I am enjoying all of your clips Some I never seen before Thank you
Me super encantaba está serie, Dean Caín guapísimo 😍,y lois.!!
my favourite superman show, i remember i was obsessed by this... mcdonalds even gave free episodes every week in their happy meals :D
Dean Cain...he MADE " Clark/ Kal-el/ Superman " come from magazine to Life!! THE man of steel!!!
Michael Anthony Boags
I remember it was broadcasting in #Telesistema11 in Dominican Republic every Sunday night, after it I was ready for going to sleep cuz next day I had school and my mom used to allow us to watching the episode before bed ❤❤❤❤
This show looks better than most of the CW shows coming out lately.
I was 10 when this came out my first experience of the greatest super hero of all. It's not everyone cup of tea but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Dean cain is my first CRUSH.. i always watching lois and clark at that time .. terry hatcher and dean cain my first favorite couples
The cameraman knew what he was doing.😂🎉
Either he has a new shirt every day, or he constantly sews buttons back on his clothes🤣
Clark: carefully unbuttons the first two buttons on his shirt
Also Clark: rips open the rest of it
And he does this like every time!!!!!😆😆😆
I wish the show would come back on I really enjoyed it
Any moment from this show is better than everything they've done with Superman in the last 10 years.
I love how “superman” always had to undo the first few buttons
Dean Cain will always be my favourite Superman
I love this show. :)
this is the superman William Earl want and thinks having a heart!!
Esse seriado nunca deveria ter parado. As estórias de romance entre o Clark e a lois era muito bom de se ver apesar dos efeitos do voo não serem tão bons para a época
Vale muito a pena rever
Teri Hatcher was a fabulous Lois Lane. Margot Kidder was a huge let down.
Wow teri hatcher was soo beautiful ❤
This is the best version of Superman in my opinion
Serial Superman and Lois 100% Super 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤ .
Christopher Reeve The best Superman
No one has come close to topping Christopher Reeve as Superman and even Clark Kent. The man truly embodied the character through and through. R.I.P. Christopher Reeve will always be missed.
Deen Cain..
Yes he is. And he always will be. Best superman and Clark kent. Nobody can top him!!!
@@archangel5627 I agree with you...but we unlucky to see Tom weiling in Superman suit...on Smallville TV show...
c'est un travail de qualité cette vidéo !
Dean Cain is my favorite Superman next to Chris Reeves. I have all the seasons . And even made a private fan movie taken scenes and making it similar to the 78 movie. Dean Cain as Superman is awesome.
I would love to see that
Remember watching this year's ago. Although I only think about it now , how they explained how the ' s' suit wasn't thought of first, but other costumes were thought of!
Bonnie Tyler's song was the perfect backdrop for the scene where his mother makes the costume!
It's just the best show in life. Not even flash can't catch superman.
My childhood memories in the 90s😊😊
gosto muito dessa versão do superman. sempre revejo essa ótima série, que estreou no ano em que eu nasci.
What great acting 🏆
I enjoy watching your Channel 👍
We don't get scenes where Clark & his mom try different costumes until we get the final one that will cement him as the hero & icon he becomes Dean Cain really brought depth & life to Clark/Superman. Not to mention we watch as Los & Clark's relationship blossoms from partnership to friendship to love plus we got a series where we see what made Lois the shark reporter she is. She's charming, witty, smart, feisty, sassy, charismatic, beautiful, independent, self sufficient yet vulnerable she is the ride or die Bonnie to Superman's Clyde (Without the killing).
Lois is just extremely darned cute. ❤️😍😍
There's a lot of backlash online these days about Dean Cain, due to some comments he's made recently and some of his political options.
We shouldn't let that colour our opinions of this show. He did a great job and is very memorable in the role. Sure the show has dated, but that's the nature of things.
It just shows what a good actor he was, to put so much into his work that he was able hide that he was asshole in his personal life
Merci je crois qu'est-ce que vous voyez Superman est plus fort vous
I love the Superman as well it was very good. I thought the actors were perfect for it
He could've said "This is a job for Superman"
Clark is just good.
I love this wish there was more
